More and more things are starting to require .net be installed. For years I have refused to install it on my personal machines, but thats starting to be a problem as more and more software like Nero now require it. Am I the only person left who refuses to install .net? I can't even remember what the reasons were for not installing are it's been so long, but I am sure they were good... atleast at the time.

AVAST YE ... DEAD MEN DON'T BITE!
I refused for a long time ... but finally had to give in to M$. Don't remember what the program it was, but I do vaguely remember needing it and it would not run without it.

It was my understanding that the .net bullshit was kinda/sorta/but not really equivalent to the old vbrun60 run-time files of Win98.
Seems like I remember ATI required .net to install their drivers/software since like 7.something....

Thats another place I have run into it. I usually use the Omega ATI drivers which don't need .net, but that guy has died (not really) and doesn't release 64bit drivers (excluding the odd 64bit nvidia drivers for vista 64).
