I hate the way the calendar displays now - ya gotta work to see the birthdays and sometimes one gets missed! A belated Happy Birthday to Enigma. We're only 4 days late - so that's not too bad. Hope you had a great day! A belated greeting to Grizz too - he had a birthday on the 12th. We miss you big guy. hehehe |

Thanks guys. Don't feel bad. Other than my mother, my whole family didn't even remember. Atleast my grandmother (on my moms side) has an excuse. Her alzheimer's is so bad she can't even remember if it is day or night. I had chinese (bean curd szechuan style, yum). My mother made me a leaning tower of pisa cake. So called because it just didn't want to stop sliding apart. My bad luck seems to be here to stay. On a scooter ride today with some other scooters (one guy on a MP3 500) all was going well till my scooter started sounding like a motocross bike. Turns out the header bolts (well one is a bolt and one is a nut) worked loose (after over 6 months). Some how I everything stayed in place and with some tools (8mm and 10mm sockets) I was back on the road (5 min to do the job, 30 min waiting on the tools to get there). I reused the old gasket for the time being, but I'm going to replace it and drill some holes in the bolt/nut and safety wire the bastards in. ![]() I could be these people waiting in line at one of the only stations in the area that has gas! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's been higher here.

No idea. The claim is that it is because Asheville has no fuel storage and all is trucked in from Greenville SC (aprox 1.5hrs away). It's gotten so bad that cops are now at the few fuel stations that have any because of fights that have broken out. The funny thing is that most of those idiots in line were sitting there with their car idling. There were so many people pumping fuel that the pumps were running REALLY slow, so those idiots were going to be sitting there a while. I have more things to add to the bad luck list. Yesterday my Sony DPP-FP30 photo printer broke (after only 120 prints) due to a stupid design. What idiot uses plastic in a high stress location? It still works if I press down the "print head" (not sure the proper name as it is a dye sub printer). As hard as I have to press down, it is no surprise that the plastic piece broke. My car (91 corolla), hearing of my scooter exhaust problems, has taken it apon itself to spring a leak. Now my car sounds like a ricer with a coffee can exhaust. It happened right after I got it inspected, so I am wondering if they might have done something to cause this as it happened a few miles down the road after I left. |

Same thing going on here in the Heart of Dixie. What we're being told is "distribution problems due to hurricane Gustav". Yeah, right, and I bet if they told us shit was chocolate ice cream they would expect us to eat it. Lot's of station completely out of fuel.......I paid 3.99/gal Saturday at a station that did have fuel (regular only). |

I really just want to blow them all of the face of the earth. I had to fill up my wife's van yesterday ... found 1 station in my area with gas ... freakin $4.29 per gal. About 5 hours later Wal-mart got a truck and had it for $3.99, we were on our way in to get food for the week. The line was ridiculously long and when we came out an hour later, it was just as long and looked like alot of the same cars. This morning on my way to work, they were out again. One of the biggest problems, is the damn hoarders. I've so many idiots filling up their SUV's and them pop open the back and fill any where's from 2 gal to 20 gals worth of containers. I've got enough to make it through the week and my wife should make it to the end of next week. Hopefully all this idiotic behavior will be over by then. |

Enigma, sounds like you have a bad case of "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all!" Sorry to hear of your vehicular problems but glad to know they weren't fatal like your exhaust flying off at 65mph!!! Here in South Bend gas is still $3.78 at many places but we seem to be averaging on the high side compared to most other places in the US while we have refineries 60 miles away in Mikey Jacksonville (Gary) so go figure. Wish me luck d00ds, I took the plunge and bought the Xerox Phaser 6130N Color Laser from with a "free" Acer 22inch LCD for 325 plus I went for the 2 year replacement warranty for both just in case and now I'm trying to set up a network file/printer server recycling some older P3 hardware with PCLinuxOS 2007. The new stuff should arrive tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes.

So that's why that chocolate ice cream tasted so weird. Only regular (87) here too. The highest price I have see personally is $4.85 for reg/87, but I have heard reports of over $5.00 for reg/87 ($5.69 if this is to be trusted). Seems there has been some price gouging going on. |

I use SME Server to run my file/print server. I'm running on a Dell Optiplex GX1 I got for free (it was being trashed). It has a 450MHz P3, 256MB of ram, 160GB of storage (desperately need more), and my Konica Minolta PagePro 1350w b&w laser printer hooked up to it. Well... that is until it all dies tomorrow I am sure. |
