AVAST YE ... DEAD MEN DON'T BITE!
|
Don't know if anyone is having this problem, but found a lot of forums discussing this. My laptop time was off by 10 minutes, even though I had it set to sync with internet time. Looking into it, the sync was not connecting to the time server. Kept saying there was and error connecting to the time server. I tried several different time servers, added exceptions to my firewall ... both by name and IP address. Also added w32tm.exe to the program exceptions to make sure it was getting out. Turned off the firewall and made sure my router was not blocking the port. All of which failed to open the connection. Tried opening a cmd prompt and entering the command c:>w32tm /resync and it failed to connect. After messing around abit more, I tried the cmd prompt again, but this time I right clicked on the cmd icon and selected "Run as Administrator". This time the time sync with the server was successful and now I can go into to the clock settings and click update now and it sync's with the time server, this continues to work, even after shutting down for the night and booting up and without going back and doing the dos time sync. Gonna check after the next scheduled sync and see if it continues to connect to time server without error. |
