What ever happened to the GTO? Did you ever run it on the 1/4? What did it have ,a 400ci?

Got married, had kids, struggled to pay the bills, so I sold it for about 1/4 of what I had in it..........yep 400CID punched out .040, Isky (remember them) 280 cam, Holly single plane street dominator intake with a 750 double pumper, Turbo 400 with shift kit and 3000 stall TCI converter, 1 piece fiberglass front end and a set of Centerline street and drag wheels. Never got a chance to run the quarter but hook up was severly limited by the open 10 bolt 3:55 rearend. That was gonna be next on my list to 'upgrade' before life's events dictated otherwise.
I think what few pics I had of it ended up going with the ex when she split.
It was a blast to drive but I'd hate to pay for the gas at todays prices.....

That sounds like a nice car. I bet it had a nice roll to it at idle.
I have a 84 Cutlass with a buick 455(mild cam) in it right now 400 tranny and a 3.73 grand national rear end.
It used to have a better 455 olds motor with a nasty cam and a 300 stall converter. It got tired after 10 years of me beating on it. I ran it at the track with the olds motor once. Best time of 13.3 on the 1/4.

Nice burnout! EnigmaandGiuseppe Smokin'... okay Was that a "hole shot"? But these days you'll be accused of having a larger carbon footprint than alGore highhorsey (the guy who invented the internet idea ) because of all that wastefulness! geeksquad Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. And I don't want to think what a gallon of unleaded cost then, I was probably complaining about it then too. beer

Cast in the name of God, Ye not guilty.
I owned a Bullet 500 Military for about a week. It was a piece of shit. It may have just been a bad example because it was an older model that the owner never used and did lots of sitting. I could never get the damn thing over 45MPH. Kicking it over to start it was a bitch... but that was before I learned the proper technique to kicking over a big bore thumper with a decompression lever (I had only kicked over small bore two and four strokes before). I got my money back because of my first falling out with my then employer. The first owner traded straight for a pos chinese scooter (claimed value $1600, really less than $600). I paid $1600 for it and got $1602 back (I put a new spark plug in it damn it).

I still sort of want one. I think the Military model looks really cool. One if good shape may perform better, but I bet an original english built model probably performs better.

I helped assemble a Bajaj Auto-rickshaw (one just like in the pictures here). Fun to screw around in, but too expensive, and too underpowered/slow.

Shankar, d00d, not to burst your bubble but those royalenfield bikes look like they haven't been updated since the 40's-50's. Not that that's entirely bad but for $5,295 to start? I'll take my chances with a 1975 Honda CB360 for $1,275 considering I may have a better chance of finding spare parts even if they need a row boat from Japan, it's closer than India!!! And not to argue about Indian females but keep in mind that all the people highlighted on the royalenfield site are considered wealthy elites in India, not your average Joe from Bombay, they are upper-middle class at least and are very "westernized" to boot! Hot gals come from every corner on earth, it's by design, and you & me & Enigma are proof there of (though you may have a special soft spot in your heart for Indian gals, no disrespect meant!) but I'm an equal opportunity sexist/chauvanist-pig, I like hot gals regardless of their country of origin or their racial background, uh err, enough said... shortbus Just don't tell my wife! beer
