lol I set it up like that. I was going to say something a little different... but that wouldn't have been quite a family friendly.

Glad you decided to keep it a "family friendly" PG-13... hiding

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting AMD Customer Care.

If your products if under warranty you can process from website.
Let us know the exact problem where you receive error to process RMA.

Funny, the SDH1150IAA3DE OPN (or any other OPN for sparta cored semprons) doesn't even show up on that page anymore. Where do they find these guys to answer the emails? I'm no english major, but christ, do they make a lot of errors.

In step one "register product for RMA". I click on "Sempron™", then
"Sempron™ (Socket AM2)", then "SDH1150IAA3DE". I then enter the
Purchase Date "12/29/07", Purchase Location "newegg.com", Serial
Number "1825181I70169". I click "next", and then click "next" again.
Then I get the error

"The processor serial number you have entered has not been found in
our records and the processor cannot be registered online.

If this is an AMD retail packaged Processor in a Box and you have
proof of purchase, please contact your regional Technical Service
Center to request an RMA.

If this processor is not an AMD retail packaged Processor in a Box you
will need to contact the company from which you purchased your
processor or computer system to obtain any warranty replacement to
which you may be entitled.

Not found in AMD database."

Got a phone call from Ehsan a few minutes ago. Basically it was to tell me that he would email me in the next 10 minutes the stuff I needed to ship back the CPU. I got that email, and it's pretty boring, so I'm not going to post it here.

<insert long list of obscenities here>...... Got a new CPU from AMD but still have the same problem... well almost... I did see a small improvement. I went from 285ns to 282ns! Something just isn't right here.

If anyone out there knows anyone with a AMD Sempron (any kind for comparison, but expcially the 65nm LE-1*** series) could you please have them run SiSoft Sandras Memory Latency benchmark, and if possible CPU-Z's Latency.exe and Everest Memory Latency benchmark and give me the results. Thanks.

Came across Giuseppe on another site talking about AMD's new cpu.

"AMD’s technical director of sales and marketing for EMEA, Giuseppe Amato, told Custom PC that ‘if I look at the next generation architecture of our CPU, then it will definitely not be, how can I say, comparable with the Phenom. It will look completely different.’ Amato was unable to give us any specific details of the new architecture, but did add that it would ‘solve problems that today we think can never be addressed by hardware.’
