Upgrading Bios from cd

Hi, i know it is possible to upgrade the bios from cd.
I have the intel D101GGC that does not have the express install that other motherboard bios upgrades have, so it is either doing the upgrade from floppy (which i dont have and really do not want to buy) or upgrade from cd.

I have tried following the instructions from here http://www.bootdisk.com/txtfiles/flashcd.txt

It boots up fine from the cd but does not recognise any drive "R"

There are a couple of other methods that i have tried but always seem to come up against the same scenario.

The reason for me wanting to update the bios is because i primarily use Linux operating systems and i have to disable a number of items from the bootline, or from system services to get any form of linux os to run, and hopefully a bios upgrade may solve this, as i obviously want to run the system to its full potential.

Maybe there is a command that i can type when i boot into DOS using the above method (link) to execute the upgrade.
I have tried awdflash gc-0313.bin and i get the error "I/O error writing drive A

Obviously i want to be carefull and make sure that things are spot on before pressing Y to proceed (if i ever get that far) so if anyone can give any tips or advice to upgrade from cd would be most appreciated.

Thank you thumbsup
