What are you looking to do? Replace the MB? If so get what ever you like. All you need to do is make sure that you get a matx MB for that case.
Newegg has many:
Intel
AMD

I have never done something like this before. My biggest thing is pretty much keeping it the way I have it. Accept adding a pci express slot. If I put in a new mobo. Can I still use my recovery cds to install all my stuff that came with the pc? Or do I have to buy a retail xp?

A 915 chipset is going to be hard to find. Look here at your options to reuses all hardware you have now.
http://compare.intel.com/pcc/showchart.asp...790&familyID=12
Notice the D915GAG (center) is what you have and does come with a PCIe slot in the retail version. Also be aware that by replacing the MB with a non OEM board you may not be able to reuse your copy of XP!!! There are way around this but nothing is guaranteed. If you find something different you like post it and we'll be happy to look at. Good Luck.
