Anyone out there playing Oblivion? Looks great and has gotten spectacular reviews all around.

Can't wait to play it, but I'll wait till it comes down in price. I've got plenty of other games that need to be played that will keep me busy until the 'price-is-right'.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - OC'd from 2.4 to 3.2 GHz
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P mobo
MSI GeForce GTX 260 (factory OC'd)
4GB G.SKILL DDR2 800
250GB SATA 150 Seagate Barracuda HDD
Corsair 650TX PSU w/ 52A +12rail...zoom zoom
ThermalTake Big Typhoon heatsink
My continual 'work in progress'.

I'm not going to buy it until I can upgrade. I want to get myself 2 gb of memory and a Radeon x1900xtx before, but I'm not sure my Athlon 64 3500+ will be able to keep up with the game.

If it couldn't, they wouldn't be selling many copies of Oblivion.

Maybe you're right, in fact I hope so. It's just that all the flamewars I've browsed through on the hardware forum at the official TES site got me seriously worried about upgrading. But I might give it a shot nonetheless.

You'll be able to play games like Oblivion, F.E.A.R., Doom3, and Quake 4 you just won't be able to see all the 'eye candy' such as soft shadows, lighting effects, and antialiasing set the the max.

Most high-end systems these days will be pushed by these games, so if your dead set on seeing these games in all their glory you'll need to upgrade to a pretty stacked system.

i got the game... i dont usually care for rpg's, but this is an exception. I really like this game. You can pretty much do whatever you want (you dont have to follow the quests) and the map is friggin HUGE. I dont think anyone could walk the entire surface and see everything. You gotta play to see what i mean. The graphics are awesome! I've got everything cranked up on my x700pro, and i got no probs. truely amazing
