I replaced a celeron 2ghz with a used chip of same type. The old chip burned up and left me with a machine that was blinking between the FDD light and the zip drive light without stopping. Replacement chip doing same thing. CPU fan is running, but nothing else is happening but the blinking. I need to confirm this is the chip and can't be something else. Is there a trick to restoring power to these motherboads? |

Did you try a new PSU? Could be bad RAM or Mobo? Stip it downto mobo & 1 known good stick of RAM - everything else disconnected & try to boot. If the processor burns up, it often takes the mobo with it
