Hi Folks! This is a tricky one!!! I'm trying to upgrade my Intel Celeron ® 2.7GHz/128K/400MHz processor to an Intel Pentium 4 2.7GHz/1Mb/533MHz mainly to get more Cache memory (128K up to 1MB). I put the new processor in the mainboard (Intel® D845GVSR Sea Breeze) but the PC won't boot? I put back in the original processor and it works. The new processor is working, it's deffinatley not fried. My BIOS id is SR84510B.44T.0015.P02 I believe that I need to upgrade the BIOS to at least P10 in order to run the pentium 4 processor. Does anyone know where I'll find this new BIOS/upgrade? I searched the intel site but no luck. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Jimmy |

Here's all the previous released downloads for your board. Don't think anyone has flashed this board yet but if you read Brett VanKirk trend this should give you a good how it's done. http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...=eng&sType=prev |

I checked the links but I still cannot find the exact BIOS type. I thought I found the solution on the Gateway web site, they had a BIOS update for SR84510A.xxxx but I need an update for SR84510B.xxxx...............close, but no cigar! This BIOS file seems very hard to find! Thanks for your reply! Jimmy |

If you can't find a BIOS flash, you ac use any socket 478 processor on that board that suppotrs a 400 FSB Here's a link to one - Should be Plug & Play! Good Luck ![]() It may be slower clock speed, but it's aout as good as it gets if your board doesn't recognize a 533 |

Hi There, I already bought a 533Mhz processor, so it looks like I'm stuck with it. I need at least 1MB Cache also. The 256KB is not much good to me. Thanks, Jimmy |
