Hi everyone, I have a T2040 with the following features: 2ghz celeron 512mb ram 64mb geforce 4 mx 440 pci graphics card 400mhz front side bus my main intention in upgrading is to run America's Army. It currently barely runs, but when playing in servers with lots of other players, it runs way too slow. im a total newbie to upgrading pcs and such, but bear with me. if you can point me to any simple tutorials or explanations online or in books, i'd really appreciate it. i have another computer with 2.6ghz and 512ram, and 128mb graphics card, and America's Amry runs fine on that computer. first, will any 128mb graphics card be better than my 64mb graphics card? I believe i have only pci slots, so which pci graphics card would best suit me? Which is better, ATI or nVidia? and does the brand matter when buying? how does upgrading my graphics card compare with adding more ram? also, does the speed of my front side bus matter with anything? |

On your other computer with the 2.6ghz processor, is that also a celeron or is it a pentium 4? |

My other computer is a T2893 emachines with a celeron D processor. I was also thinking of possibly upgrading that computer's graphics card to 256mb and giving its 128mb to my computer that i was originally talking about. |

Well, something that would be pretty simple is for you to try out the 128mb video card in your older machine. See how it runs with it, then you'll know if that's all that it needs. Your other specs seem to be pretty good, so I'm saying the old video card can't make it happen. |

You might also want to check out the game's recommendations and minimum requirements at: http://www.americasarmy.com/support/faq_win.php?p=1&t=4 So as PioneerCrazed recommended, try the 128mb card and see if it works any better. |

If you only have PCI slots, then I would recommend a Nvidia Geforce FX5200 128MB at least. The best PCI card you can get is the FX5700. I currently use a GeForce FX5500 (see sig) in my etower and I liked it so much, I bought another one for the PC I recently built. |
