I am not sure what video card my brother put in this computer, but it was over a year ago. And we had this problem last time we moved the computer. We just moved, and he put the computer in my room. I hooked up the monitor ( eView 17f2 model ) into the video card, and it keeps saying this after the windows XP loading screen - " Power saving enabled - monitor will turn off in a few seconds. " It will work in safe mode, and it will work when VEGA is enabled. But it will not run normally. I had a live chat with an agent from emachines and he was useless. I have also tried the last good setup thing, I forget what it is called. Please somebody help me out here im dyin. |

You say it's XP but not whether it's XP Home or XP Pro. I've got Pro but I think they are close on this part. First go to your "Control Panel" and select "Power Options". The first tab should be "Power Schemes". Check to make certain you are set for "Home/Office Desktop", then look below for the two next sections. What is the setting on "Turn Off Monitor _________"? The next line is "Turn Off Hard Disks ___________". You should be able to get to it in safe mode. Make sure after you change any settings you click "apply" or the setting will be lost. Cate |
