Just wanted to let anyone know, not to feel bad if they tried to install a radeon 7000, or simular series card, that just would not work. Thought I was doing something wronge, so took my PC to a friends shop. Well he got as far as i did. Ended up pulling the radeon out, and replaced with a nivida tnt 64. I went for lower end grafic card, (32mb) cause Im not a big gamer, and did not want to stress out my 250 watt power supply. But with XP plus, some of the cool screen savers, just looked terrible, so that would also mean, problems with DVD picture quaility, (when DVD is installed). Amazing how so many issues come up, with so many different PC`s, from hardware to software ect. Also the tnt 64, worked right off the get go. Did not even have to install any new drivers, but was unable to remove the radeon drivers. Installed a program called REGCLEANER version 4.3. Its a great tool, removes things you normally could not, and backs them up, but thats another issue. So if your E turtle dosen`t like one brand grafic card, try another. Bob |

And HOW!... just went through it. After entirely too much screwing around, (4 days with the manufacturer's so-called Tech-support), I finally got my ATi control panel to work. It seems their "latest drivers" weren't even close. Got the latest directly from ATi...dated 7 April 2005. Installed first shot. The card worked fine from the beginning, but what's the fun in upgrading from 4mb onboard to 64mb DDR if ya can't tweak it? |
