Basically only know a little about upgrading computers. I can do the basic, hard disk and RAM etc, but now I want to upgrade the graphics. I have an emachine 190 and not too sure what graphics card I would need to get. I would like something at around 128mb with line out capabilities. I am based in the UK, so any help would be grateful! Thank you in advance. |

The best card you will be able to get in this country for PCI is a nVidia FX5200 either by BFG or PNY. You can find these at your local PC World. They'll run most games but you'll need to turn down the eye candy for the newer games but most should work okay. The BFG comes with 256Mb in comparison to the PNY's 128 & it's already overclocked by 10% straight out of the box but the PNY is very overclockable probably more so than the BFG. I've got my PNY at 20% over & it works fine. The down side to both these cards is that they don't have a DVI socket for attaching a digital TFT/LCD monitor so you'll need to suffice with analogue instead. If however you are looking for a DVI socket then you could look at an ATI powered unit such as a 9200SE or the newer 9250 although they are'nt as good as nVidia units. You can probably pick up one of the above for around £50. Good luck.
