Hello everyone, I'm a new user of this forum, so my apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place or if this is answered elsewhere. I'm thinking of upgradng my motherboard/CPU mainly because my emachines 270 (UK model/location) does not have an AGP port for a decent graphics card. I haven't decided what to upgrade to yet, but it will either be a Pentium P4 or an AMD Athlon 64bit. Can anyone tell me whether I would need to upgrade my power supply? I'm not even sure what PSU I have, or how to find out (unless it's just a matter of opening the machine and taking a look). Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Mark. |

You have an ATX Power supply and it's a good bet you'll need a new one.....eMachine power supplys have never been more than just barely enough. If you are going to invest in the other changes, this would be a smart thing to do! |
