Morning, i just bought the new "robots" game for my daughter. i didnt realize that she needed a 64mb video card. here is my dilemma. she has an e machine. winxp home edition 2.6 celeron 256mb DDR 30gb HD integrated 64mb extremes graphic controller. Trigem Imperial-G/GV/GL/GLVE i believe is the motherboard we have. i went out and bought a 128MB PCI card. i first could not get any power to the additional PCI slots. i tried the card on my comp. it had power to it. i tried again on my daughters. nothing. i go buy a 350 watt power supply and then i got power to the card since i can see the fan running. i hook everything up and no video signal. i then take the case cover off. the fan is not running. i tried all three PCI slots and only one of them got the fan from the videocard to run. i know the pci slots work because i have a modem installed in the other slot. the autodetect detected the modem the last time i restored everything. i had to finally use the system restore option. i have the new PS 350 watt still in the machine. i want to know if this motherboard is not able to put enough voltage out for the 128 card. should i try a 64MB instead. i have a new game so i dont know if im going to let her play on mine very much LOL thank you steven |

Wouldn't it take a BFH adjusting tool to get a PCI card to fit into a AGP slot. |

no, no AGP slot. i was thinking that the integrated architecture version of the slot might be 1.0. ive gone and put a "64MB" card in the pci slot . works fine. may have a slight problem with the card being an actual 64mb DDR. i installed and only said 32mb DDR. but the video memory is at 64MB. ive e-mailed the manufacturer and i expect a reply soon. thanks steven |
