When did you notice the change? After you change cases? It could be that the AU31 is really partial to the Nexgen case and will only run 166 FSB in that case. |

ehh.. i just noticed it today.. i havent noticed any performance loss... ive had my case in for a little under a week now... altho i did do a CMOS reset thing when i was installing my case.. i changed everything as much as i could back, time, date, agp/onboard, etc... but i guess the speeds were normal kuz i dont remember them standing out to me... and i went back into my BIOS today, and sure enough my speeds are like 1254/100 how would the mobo know what case its in?! i dont suppose it would |

problem solved... i went to the jumpers and got bored and messed around... the jumper was on 133/166 (what its supposed to be on) i put it on 100/133 (what my bios was reporting i had my jumpers set to) so i turned it on.. and obviously.. its showing the same speed.. turned computer back off.. and put it back to the original position i had it in (133/166) and it worked this time.. but i had the jumpers set there all along. now i wanna know why it reset itself? without movin jumpers |

Cast in the name of God, Ye not guilty.
|
here is a copy of what I had typed up a the other day to post but ended up not (I wanted to give the guys a little while longer to play).
Pretty much... what happened is the jumper wasn't connecting the two pins (1 and 2) and as thus the board defaulted itself to 100/133. You playing with the jumper caused the two pins to connect and thus set itself to 133/166. |
