alright here the thing, i go out last week buy a new emachines T2826 330 intel celeron D 2.66 GHz
60 gb hd,512 mb memory. along with that i buy a 256 MB AGP video card(Radeon 9550. i take the comp home open it up and i see the 3 PCI slots and above it is the metal prongs where an agp slot normally should be. now i was wondering is there any way i can go out and buy an individual AGP slot and just put it in and if i can how do i do that?

Now on with my PCI card problems sence i cant use my brand new 256 MB vid card i took it back and got a pci 128 radeon 9200 video card. i put it in and install the drivers and everything then i disabled the onboard vid card. usally after that i can just reboot my comp with the moniter in the new vid card, wrong. no screen even came up when i did this. what am i doing wrong? can someone walk me through the steps of putting in the new card?

Welcome to the Forum. No, I don't think that will work. I'm guessing you have is the Intel SeaBreeze (D845GVSR) mainboard with Intel's 845GV chipset which doesn't support external AGP. You'll have to verify that one for me. Look here at Intel's specs.:

Did you go into Setup and disable the onboard video and set to PCI?

ive got the older 2.6Ghz . there is no agp option. you can gut out your parts and buy another MB LOL

i even bought a 128mb PCI card for my daughters e-machine. sadly enough even after buying a bigger power supply the card was not recieving enough power for the card to run. so in my little area i was only able to upgrade to a 64MB card. i was able to "steal" my daughters "robots" game since the card doesnt support all the requirements. BONUS! i know the 128 was good because i put the card in my computer to test it out. and the fan and everything was running.

since you may have more voltage on the 2.66 leave the case open and look inside when you are starting up the comp. if the fan is running you should be in good shape.
