hey guys, I read an article that you can get more then the said 256 mbs of ram into my computer (2x128 mbs pc100 ram) I had a pc100 64 meg that was in it when I bought it and I bought a 128 meg pc133 which worked fine but today I went out and bought a pc133 256 meg ram chip (which would total 384 because I took the 64 out) because I read on here that theres a way to make it work even though it said it its not compatible with that much. Could someone please refresh my memory and tell me how this is done. Thanks Reg |

I already have read that thread and the azen ram (128mb which works fine) is the same as the new azen 256 mb ram chip I just bought today so really it should work but it doesnt.. if I have to take it back and get a different name brand, thats fine but its gonna cost me another $30 to get the other namebrand so I want to try to get this to work first. could it be something in the bios that I need to set in order for it to be recognizable? |

No, it's not a bios issue. It's a hardware issue of memory addressing. The Napoli-2 can address or "read" 128Mb/bank or "side", hence low density/double-sided sticks are required: 128Mb x 2 = 256Mb (1 stick) |
