Hi i am trying to upgrade the ram on my emachines 530 with a trigem dublin motherboard. Its a pentium 4 with 256mb ram at the moment i am trying to add two more sticks of 256mb sdram 133pc but each time i put them in and try to reboot my pc the hard drive switches on but i get no feed to my monitor. when i take the ram back out it works ok again! any suggestions i am very new to all this i am pretty sure that i have purchased the right kind of ram any help would be gratefully appreciated. |

Have you checked by putting in just one extra stick at a time to see if one of them are bad? |

Yes i have tried each memory stick individually in the first available slot! Each time has been the same when i boot up the pc the hard drive powers up but my monitor just says there is no signal. i have even tried replacing the original memory with one of the new ones and that still has the same result. |

Where'd you get your RAM? What brand? Could it be registered or ECC? |

Sounds like the RAM you bought is either incompatible with the Dublin or defective. |
