As someone who still runs some older DOS and Win 3.1 programs on my system, do I need to stick with Intel CPUs, or has AMD caught up to the point where it can run anything Intel does? |

AMD is considered a "Intel compatable" processor . I've used AMD's for years and have found no problems with CLI based OS's . There are many good emulators for running just about anything that was not based on current chip technology . They can be quite fun to play with (it's pretty cool to play old games I played on my C64 on my current machine) . |
