FIRST MATE
|
I was going through a box of blown up motherboards from years past and out of all of the motherboards there was one manufacturer that came to mind as being not only the worst manufacturer of motherboards, but of PC hardware in general. I dont know if they are still in business but the award goes to a company called Zida. The motherboards I had from them were all socket 7 motherboards under the Tomato brand name. Wish i had a digital camera, I'd take some neat pics for yall... |

Yeah ive only had one pc-chips they seemed mediocre. thinking back on it, ALL 386/486 motherboards bring back horrid memories. Its funny though that I was like 7 or 8 when they started making 486's yet I know more about them than any other platform accept maybe socket 7. |

PC-CHIPS definitely gets my vote...UGH And second place their sister company, ECS! Note the lack of markings? I wouldn't put my name on that junk either. |

I had used a few Amptron back in the Socket 7 days. They seemed to be a little lower quality components on the board, but it worked well. Didnt have much in the way of customization or anything, but it did what it was intended to. |

Gee, I remember wishing I could afford a 386 40mhz. Maybe it was a 386DX40, it's been so long I can't remember. It'd be neat to see what a Commodore 64 looks like nowadays. Hmm... off to Google I go

Yeah, I was surprised to see so many Commodore 64 products for sale on eBay and websites on Google. There was a website, c64.com, dedicated to the machines. There was another c64 website just for viewing soft-porn in all it's clunky graphics glory
