Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone can help me. I recently built a new system and I have a problem with it. When I boot up, it gives me one additional beep after post and I get a red bouncing rectangle on the screen that says "out of sync error", after this it loads XP and runs fine. Occasionaly I get choppy video on games like half life in open GL mode, otherwise it seems to work great. Tried resetting the CMOS once and I have checked the bios, but niether seemed to do anything. Bad board maybe? (Never had a problem like this with my old E-tower
) Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. The comp does seem to work fine otherwise, its just annoying.Thank you, specs follow Via mainboard P4VMM2 Celeron 2 gig cpu 512 Mgs azenram onboard sound and video (32 mg shared) 400 Watt PSU 40 Gig Maxtor 7200 rpm hdd 52X32X52 liteon CDRW XP Home |

Your on board video ?? is doing something off kilter, recheck your bios setting... OR what type of monitor... it almost sounds like a loose pin in the monitor cable or the onboard port, That normally comes up if you unplug your monitor after your PC is on.... |

I forgot to mention, I have 2 samsung syncmaster monitors (new) and I've tried them both. Same result. I can't find anything wrong in the bios. Maybe I'll scoop a video card for it and do away with the onboard video altogether. I've done extensive google searches and haven't come up with anything, other than some similiar things happening to apples. Via's site wasn't much help either. Has anyone else ever had anything similar happen to their systems? |

check the menu on your monitor itself- your source should be set to either a - analog, or b digital... depending on your connection to your video card. It might be set to "auto" which trys both channels and if it doesn't see a connection on the first channel it looks at, a warning pops up until it finds a source. -at least that happens on my SyncMaster 191t+ |
