Angel from the underworld or Devil from paradise
I have mine done - I'll be re-checking numbers tomorrow and then filing electronically. Being a single mom "Head of Household" with child care expenses (my last year for those). I'm actually getting a few bucks back. I can't believe they don't allow you to claim child care expenses after your kid hits 13! I'm not sure what I'll be doing with my son for the summer this year. Since I can't claim any child care expense he may be on his own. I can't afford the YMCA summer program anymore (even with a scholarship) and they won't let me claim it on my taxes after this year anyway!

Ever wonder why the teens of America feel lost? How about the fact that the Federal Government cuts them loose from programs at 13 unless you are on Welfare? The poor get the benefits, the lower middle class gets the shaft.

Just venting.

UNSUBSCRIBE ME....!!!

Yep, and he settled up with me some weeks ago. Amazingly, with electronic filing, even my New York State refund came in two weeks ago. Ya can't wait until late March or early April or it takes longer. I remember some years back, New York didn't have its' budget in place and they froze the tax refunds. I waited something like 3 months to get mine back :(

Of course, I then had to pay my county taxes (they are due in February), paid my city taxes, school taxes, a $412.00 vet bill (with another $150.00 tomorrow on a cardioechogram test) .... um, what else? I'm forgetting something, but the refund is gone - largely to pay other government agencies. Ya can't win, ya can't break even, and they won't even let you quit the game ....

Can I unsubscribe from taxes?

Kind regards from Rochester, NY

I hear ya Jimbo......you can "unsubscribe" from taxes,,,,,,,until they catch ya.
What pisses me off is the poor working bastards foot the bill for everyone. And just when you think you're getting ahead WHAM, now you're "rich" and in higher tax bracket. Can't have that. How about a flat tax? And I'm not talking based on a percentage of what you make....I'm talking about a FIXED amount that EVERYONE pays........just for the sake of arguing, say 500 bucks for man, woman and child....if you're gonna live in the USA, that's the cover charge. When you meet your obligation, you're done. No forms to fill out, no TurboTax to buy and then enjoy that you won't be penalized for trying to fulfill the American dream.
Yeah but what about these people that make zillions of bucks? Why should they be penalized for being successful?
What about indigent people or disable people? The USA is the most charitable country in the WORLD,,,I'm confident charitable organizations, churches, etc. would step up to the plate to help those in true need.
Yeah, the USA isn't a perfect country with perfect government, but I wouldn't want to live any place else.........end of rant.....I need another beer.........

I forget what the tax brackets are, but it's somewhere along the lines of 35-38% for the rich. Having a single flat tax that doesn't break the back of the poor results in a huge monetary difference as the individual's revenue increases. Compound those differences by the number of people in America and that would be one gigantic loss of taxes for the federal government. This would be the same for states that impose state income taxes. Less money means less services...
As for the wealthy, they can find creative ways to itemize deductions and keep other monies tax free (municipal bonds, for example).
$830 electronic refund for me this year! ;)

Well, as far as tax brackets, I couldn't help but notice that Dick Cheney made something like 1.6 million last year and paid $220000 in income tax. I wish I only paid that, percentagewise ;)

As far as taxes, how do I unsubscribe? :P

Be a drug dealer. I seriously doubt they report their revenues to the IRS ;) There might be other legal complications, but you don't pay taxes! Being a prostitute, probably most of your clients would pay with cash. Just make sure to keep it in your shoebox as putting it in the bank will create a paper trail. Barter services or goods. Robbery... gosh, most of these are criminal acts. Looks like bartering would be your best legal avenue to unsubscribe from taxes. There is no statute of limitations for not filing an income tax return, so ignorance isn't bliss ;)

Almost forgot, you could do the Unabomber trick, seclude yourself from society and live off the land and your own feces (as fertilizer for your crops). You probably wouldn't be attracting the women though...

Nope, not in Rochester. They are *finally* getting serious. *Real* serious about the drug dealers. They've been poppin' 'em right and left of late. The street vendors are gone and they've been hitting the crack houses.

:D :D :D :D :D

Hahahahaha! Love it!
