What PCI Video Cards are known to work on the anaheim 2a? As far as power goes, I have a 300W power supply, 2 Harddrives, network card, Audigy 2, CD-RW, and DVD-ROM. james |

ah still no replys, anyways the more I think about it, I use my tv tuner on my all in wonder 128 16mb too much to upgrade... unless it was to an all in wonder VE, based on the radeon 7500, which i hear that the radeons dont work well in these motherboards....that and for the price for a new all in wonder ve i could get a whole new motherboard and processor at these current prices.... After checking ebay though, i realize that I can sell my 16mb all in wonder 128 and buy the 32mb version of the same card for like 5 bucks net. How big of a difference will the double video memory make? It is a rather old graphics card I know, but its too useful to record stuff here in the dorm room. Just wish I could play newer games with it. sigh james |

Sorry, I long ago dumped my anaheim board for one with a real agp slot among other things.. Anyways most MX 200/400 series boards work fine for these machines from what I recall... The only nice thing about PCI over AGP is the standard for the slot has not changed like AGP so there is very little copmpatibility problems... but the price doesnt come down as fast as older AGP stuff... |

I used a GeForce2 MX400 64MB PCI card, made by PNY in mine and it worked great. I then upgraded to a GeForce FX5200 128MB PCI card (also PNY) and it too worked great. |

johnholmes888, how big of a performance increase did you see between the two cards??? Does any body have any word on any of the Radeon cards working, mainly the All in wonder radeon or AIW VE? Also are there any other All in one cards with tuners on them, that will also provide "good" gaming performance? |

It's been about a year since I used that machine with the 5200 in it (I took it out and put in a new build, and replaced the MX400 in the Anahiem2A)...IIRC the improvement was significant though, I think that is the max as far as PCI cards go... I just did a quick check on pricing, and you are looking at around $50 for the MX card and near $100 for FX card...I don't think the performance was two times better. The FX card supports DX9, barely. I think with the MX card, the card is still the bottleneck, while with the FX card, your CPU will be the bottleneck. |

Helped my geforce2 mx200 significantly by limiting the amount of system memory used to the minimum 2mb. The setting can be found on the detonator driver interface under direct draw. Diablo2, tested settings for 10 hours of gameplay. ---PC |
