It’s been a long time, my hand writing has not been improving. I realized today, that I hadn’t stopped to write anything for months. My first plan was to make it to New York and find my parents, hook up with a refugee group and live out this.. Thing. I couldn’t find any sort of command or refugee camps in or around New York City. I was checking hospitals for things I might need, having given up on any camps. I would need to head west I had assumed. Or something, I was glad to find people hidden away when I stumbled into Saint Jude’s. I found people. At first they seemed at least a little hostile, especially this one guy, demanded to know my religion right off the bat. His name is Wesley, he’s a little bit of a grump. Then there’s Ira, he’s a Grade A badass. Basically the last person you want to mess with, even with him out of commission right now he can still muster up a pretty nasty glare. He was attacked by one of the shadow wolves, and he doesn’t seem to be getting better either, but honestly, I doubt there are many things that can stop him. Did I mention he has a battleaxe? There’s Scarlett who’s kinda cute, but is really quiet. She sticks to Ira or Neils mostly. She seems more lost than any of us, or as lost as I am. I feel bad for putting her down, she’s a sweet girl who wants to help everyone. I just feel like she’s fragile. Less so than myself. But still fragile. Then there’s Neils who is the last person I’d expect in this new world. He’s actually nice, and he listens. Sorta the nice guy that always gets left behind, suddenly the go to guy of the end of the world. And as a second thought, the best guy to see at the end of the world. Together we’re barely better than ragtag. But we have a boat now. I was happy to learn that I do not get sea sick. And were headed off to Atlanta. After the last entry I felt a little hollow. That dream took a lot out of me, But now I have hope. Sincere honest hope. So with New York in our wake, my new life rushes onwards. To Atlanta the City of Peace. |
