Just because he calls them donations doesn't mean he is getting around the law. I know for a fact that some private torrent trackers accepted donations for access to a special VIP area and also had some other perks. They were shutdown, in part, because of that. They were profiting from the torrents, even though they weren't directly distributing or using anyone else's content. Smells a little too rank of lawsuit to me. I'm not saying any of that will happen to CollecToons, but I'm also not saying they're in some untouchable cloud. The copyright laws now-a-days are absolutely ridiculous. |
