You don't have to be on an automatic renewal plan, you can pay for one month only if you'd like. The best thing to do is to set up a perpetual billing plan which guarantees that there will no be an interruption in service. Once you donate, as a special thank you, the system will upgrade that users acct to premium. You can also give an upgrade as a gift which is great for birthdays and Christmas which is coming up very soon!

Thought Orbit was free, I smell a potential lawsuit.. or something, even though it is only $4.95 a month, Thats $54.40 a year, depending this even lasts' that long. I'm not even going to bother to get involved with this, enjoy your waste of money.
