This is a list of my current music I listen to. I listen to a larger amount of variety and bands, but I did not decide to list them, only some favorites. My list of bands can be found on my MySpace though. Well anyways, my favorite bands are Circa Survive and Saosin. There is a connection between these two bands. Anthony Green was a lead singer in Saosin, and shortly left to start Circa Survive. I find his lyrics to be written in a way no one else can interpret. He just released his solo album earlier this week. I got it, and boy it is amazing. He does screamo, alternative, indie, experimental, and psychedelic songs. He plays guitar, bass, and does vocals. Might I add that his voice is just amazing. One other thing to say is he has not been only in Saosin, but other bands too. He performed with his side projects, High and Driving, Moshtradamus, and sang with other bands Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer. The guy is God. Saosin is another great band. Ever since Green left, they found a new frontman, Cove Reber. I find both bands to sound amazing on different levels. About what I listen to: The background of my listen is heavy screamo to light screamo. Some not at all. In this case, if you do not like what I listen to, that's fine. I just ask one favor and that is not to bash on what other people listen to, including myself. That is just rude. And for the screaming part; it's not considered devil's music or those stereotypical nonsense. Vocalists "scream' in order to express the emotion they put into the song. It's not a bad thing, it's called music. Different tastes for different people. My list consists of my favorite songs: The first break is the band. The second break with the dash is the album, followed up with a blackslash, then the song compliant to the album. August Burns Red - Messengers / Composure - Messengers / Truth of a Liar _____ Bayside - The Walking Wounded / Duality _____ Cartel - Chroma / Burn This City - Chroma / Honestly - Chroma / Runaway _____ Chiodos - All's Well that Ends Well / Baby You Wouldn't Last a Minute On the Creek - All's Well that Ends Well / There's No Penguins In Alaska - All's Well that Ends Well / The Word Best Friend Becomes Redefined - Bone Palace Ballet / Lexington ( Joey Pea-Pot with a Monkey Face ) _____ Circa Survive - Juturna / Act Appalled - Juturna / In Fear and Faith - Juturna / Stop the F*ckin' Car - On Letting Go / The Greatest Lie - On Letting Go / Kicking Your Crosses Down - On Letting Go / Mandala - On Letting Go / The Only Difference Between Medicine and Poison is the Dose _____ A Day to Remember - For Those Who Have Heart / Monument - For Those Who Have Heart / The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle - For Those Who Have Heart / Since U Been Gone ( Cover: Kelly Clarkson ) _____ The Devil Wears Prada - Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord / Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over - Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord / Gauntlet of Solitude - Punk Goes Crunk / Still Fly ( Cover: Big Tymers ) _____ Escape the Fate - Dying is Your Latest Fashion / Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche _____ The Fall of Troy - Doppelganger / F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. _____ Saosin - B-Sides / I Can Tell There Was an Accident Here Earlier - B-Sides / Let Go Control ( Bonus Track ) - Saosin / Bury Your Head - Saosin / Collapse - Saosin / I Never Wanted to - Saosin / Sleepers - Saosin / Some Sense of Security - Translating the Name / 3rd Measurement In C - Translating the Name / Seven Years - Translating the Name / They Perch On Their Stilts Pointing and Daring Me to Break Custom - Translating the Name / Translating the Name _____ Silverstein - Discovering the Waterfront / Call it Karma - Discovering the Waterfront / Ides of March - Discovering the Waterfront / Smile In Your Sleep _____ A Skylit Drive - She Watched the Sky / Drown the City - Wires and the Concepts of Breathing / All it Takes For Your Dreams to Come True - Wires and the Concepts of Breathing / Balance - Wires and the Concepts of Breathing / Eris and Dsynomia - Wires and the Concepts of Breathing / I'm Not a Thief, I'm a Treasure Hunter - Wires and the Concepts of Breathing / Knights of the Round - Wires and the Concepts of Breathing / Pursuit Lets Wisdom Ride the Wind - Wires and the Concepts of Breathing / This Isn't the End - Wires and the Concepts of Breathing / Wires and the Concepts of Breathing _____ underOATH - Define the Great Line / Writings On the Wall - They're Only Chasing Safety / A Boy Brushed In Red Living In Black and White - They're Only Chasing Safety / Down, Set, Go - They're Only Chasing Safety / I'm Content with Losing - They're Only Chasing Safety / It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Doore - They're Only Chasing Safety / Reinventing Your Exit |

Chyah I know what you mean. There's this girl I know who says she knows everything about Paramore. I tell her if she likes Emergency, and she doesn't know that song. That song was from their first single, something a real fan knew about. She didn't even know about Paramore having two albums. |

Wow, thats quite organized. I honestly haven't heard of any of them, maybe that makes you happier they are less mainstream? :sweatdrop: I'm such a loser with music, I just listen to anything that sounds good. If its really that good, then I get interested in the band. OTL As for bashing people for their taste in music, I find it rude too. But I can't help but feel annoyed by people who act like sheep. Where they are just following a band because of a certain "fad". Its not just their fault though, the bands can be to blame too. There will always be those bands who follow fads for money, or to be popular. Most bands these days are becoming lazy or waste time blaming their problems on downloading. Have they ever thought they just weren't good, or sounded exactly like everyone else? This is the very reason most people at my school (inlcuding myself) listen to very few music. Mtv (aka DramaTV) also makes things worse by sucking. |

That's what I'm talking about. I watch Fuse more often then MTV. Never get a record with them. They are jerks nows, look at Panic! at the Disco. For some reason though, Paramore still pulls through, and I still like them. All MTV does is just sponsor reality shows. What happened to Music Television? |

Mainstream popularity? All bands strive for it, your will learn that as you get older and bands sell out, they all do. I am 36 years old, I seen a TON of bands before they were famous. Here's a great example. I went to my first Red Hot Chilli Peppers concert back in 1986. Have you heard their stuff from back then? Compare it to the garbage they have been putting out for the past 10 years. If they don't get some modicum of fame, and make money, they can't survive as a band, they are all looking for major label contracts trust me on this on. Edited by Malach, Aug 12 2008, 04:08 PM.

Not all of them. Look at Anthony Green. He's Circa Survive's frontman. They got their label and have tons of money. And they rather remain not that well known, only to the fans. He writes music because he wants to. |

I've never heard the old Red Hot Chili Peppers stuff... I like that band... I wouldn't say I'm a fan because I don't really know much about the band or anything but I like their music that I know... I used to listen to them in the car in the 90s while my mom was driving on the 'hit music' station (before hit music included rap)... When I started driving, I discovered the rock station and they played RHCP... Whenever I hear a RHCP song, I know all the words because I somehow remember it...
