I have a SNES and I have the game Super Mario Brothers All Stars on it. That game is so awesome because it has Mario Bro 1, 2 and 3, Super Mario World and Mario the lost world... So its really 5 games in one.

The other day, me and the boys (James and Alex) got sucked into the game... James ended up being the one to beat the castle and save the princess.. Its just nice how that game can still be so entertaining!!

I loved this game. This was my favorite game. I use to own a copy but I don't know what happened to it. And Lost Level it self was a real game. And the game is now impossible to find. only like 5,000 copies where made. But I still loved that game. I wonder if it will be out for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console. I beat the game once. It was the best.

I was just playing this game the other day. I'd have to say its in the top 5 of best snes games. Long ago me and my brother was playing mario 1 on that, and I ended up beating it without dying so he had to wait 10 minutes to even play as Luigi xD .

There is a real game called The Lost Levels. There really is. I owned that game for the Nes. And that game is good luck finding it. Good luck. And I still remember the game like Yesterday. The las boss was your on a war ship and a punch of bullet bills shot at and and than you had to make them him the boss. It was a good hard game. MY friend bought one at a yard sale for 5.00. and that game was selling in the hundreds on Ebay. So it's a real rare game for the Nintendo.

I owned this game. I never really got into 3, but I beat all the others. The best Mario game is still Super Mario World though. I still will go back time to time and play it over again.

I've tried that too, its fun after you've beaten it already.
With just the frog suit, I made it to bowser and died, and used whistles from world 1 & 2.
With the hammer suit, I beat the game but used whistles startin at world 4.

You know that mario brothers 2 did come out for nes, I remember a friend having it. I remember the strange happy clouds and different looking ground.

yeah but that Mario 2 wasnt the real Mario 2 just a game based off a Japan only game where they just put mario characters.

and mush... lost levels was first released in japan as Mario bros 2 with the poison mushrooms.. looks like Mario 1. So yeah i guess it did make it to america, but that was the Japan Mario 2.

and heres the proof.

This article is about the version released outside of Japan. For the Japanese game with the same name, see Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.

True, but "Super Mario Bros. 2" was still a good game. Shigeru Miyamoto probably could've waited a little while longer for the real SMB2 to be made, or after the one we got, call the real sequel Super Mario Bros. 3 & so forth. Ah either way, it probably don't matter much, cause there was no Super Mario Bros. 4 (technically), there was instead Super Mario World, even though Luigi was on it. Though I think it was because after the 3rd installment, it broke away from the Mushroom Kingdom.

Though I prefer Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. is a great series. I remember as a kid, the family & I would play the first game whenever we can for hours. Even till this day, I have yet to beat a full Mario title, except for the first Mario Party game. Though it was because my relatives was counting on me to unlock all the features & such.

Maybe it was a import, & had the mod chip for the NES to play Japanese games. But it's also possible, that Nintendo did had release it here in the states & so few copies were made & not many people known of it's existance. Or it was a game that was made, but got left in storage, and some lucky people who have the right connection, aquire the game. (some games do get left in the cutting room & never get service, but the ones that are close enough to them, can get their hands on them).
