Here I Will ltell you the diffrent types of anime there are and what they could mean for you.(And other Manga) they are: Seinen Manga - Manga generally targeted at an 18-30 year old male audience. It has a wide variety of art styles and more variation in subject matter, ranging from the avant-garde to the pornographic. Shojo Manga - Manga aimed at a female audience between the ages of 13 and 18, also read by boys, though. Posted Image Shonen Manga - Manga intended for boys. Typically characterized by high-action, often humorous plots featuring male protagonists. The camaraderie between boys or men on sports teams, fighting squads and the like is often emphasized. Attractive female characters with exaggerated features are also common. Posted Image Hentai Manga - Sexually explicit or pornographic comics, reserved for an adult audience... (Hentai in japaniese literally means pervert) Posted Image Yaoi Manga - Yaoi manga focuses on homosexual relationships between male characters and is generally sexually explicit. It is an acronym of the Japanese phrase "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi" (no climax, no punch line, no meaning). ^ Those are the types of Manga I know, Now (From my experance) Here is the Manga Grading system agewise: (A) - All Ages - Manga suited for everyone (Y) - Ages 10+ - Depending on the manga, it might show a bath scene or two with no nudity (What makes it 10+) and maybe some violence. (T) - Teen 13+ - These will actully show nudity or alot of non nudity bath scenes depending on the manga and have more violence in them and possible swearing. (OT) - Older Teen 16+ - These have Nudity, Swearing, and sexuial refrences. (M) - Mature Ages 18+ - Well here you basiclly have hentai, rarely do they have M rated Manga that isnt hentai (If its not it norm is very violent with nudity) |
