Cartoon Network conducted a panel Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con and announced the creation of a brand new massively multiplayer online PC game titled FusionFall. Many of the game's elements will be familiar to those who have previously played massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs), such as World of Warcraft.

There will be clan/guild play in the game. These groupings of players will be called "clubs" and their functionality is not yet known. The game is played in a large area, but due to being aimed at a younger crowd, large distances will not have to be travelled to get to the action. Instead, adventures will be available almost anywhere in-game. Elements of class play will be included and player versus player action is being considered. However, while this is a PC game, play will function more like a console game.

In regards to creative aspects, Mario F. Piedra is making the designs for the game and Matthew Schwartz co-wrote the manga tie-in. Characters featured in the game will not only be from current Cartoon Network series, but will also include those from older shows. Furthermore, you will be able to collect super deformed (SD) versions of Cartoon Network characters called "nanos" to aid you in battle. Those conducting the panel also hinted that if the game is successful, a television series based on FusionFall is possible.

FusionFall is tentatively set to launch Summer 2008 and there are no details available on pricing at this time. The game should be playable on PCs that are two to three years old and the game will be installed on the computer as opposed to being playable inside a web browser.

Highly doubt it'll support anything less than windows xp. If we have to pay to play plus install it on our comps I think FusionFall will flop.

If we'll have to install it...why did we have to sign up on the website?

...and all that jazz
I hoping they wouldn't put I price on it, but its looking like they will.

Kinda wierd to price a kid-aimed MMORPG though as most kids in the target age couldn't or wouldn't know how to conduct payments for it.

Wow, CN as made a new low to me. And I still think WoW is a waste too.

Seriously, who pays to play a game? You could do soo much more like buy new videogames and other things you need.

I still don't believe in that "All good things in life are free", that's just bull -_-

FusionFall will be a game that CN toss millions on and decided make it a p2p game. The game will ultimately fail yet again to attract users due inadequate, inefficient marketing like orbit which CN only marketted on their channel along with an ineffective strategy. This time along the company would make a similar looney mistake and losing money this time(mmo aint cheap) and certainly should not be fooled around with.

Isnt toontown like this and that is not very successful.. I think. Kid aimed yet p2p wowza thats opposite worlds which = fail. We will hafta wait until their computer requirement list to see what haps. Yeah I mind paying just another game every month hopefully they jsut do ingame ads and merchandising, etc, etc. Think mo positive tho p2p probably cost 15 or 12 ish a month, you play it for like 3 months thats only 45ish more or less as oppose to most games which are 40-60.

We should start thinking bout our club name than worry bout whatever payment or w/e service their going.

I dont think it will fail I know it is CN o well I will still play it or try it out. Still one more year or more.

I most likely will not be playing this game when it comes out since :
1) I don't have a PC!
2) I'm not paying for any online game

That stinks. I don't want this to happen. They should not charge us at all. Some of us don't have jobs and parents do not want to waste money on a internet game. I hope they do not charge for this.
