TVs future; where is it headed?

Here is where you can discuss where you think tv of today is heading. Will it get worse, or better? or worse in a better way? I for one think that it is falling apart at an alarming rate, but it can still be saved. How? Not sure, but something is bound to end the shows with kids who are too stupid, unresponsible adults, & vulger teens. Fart jokes don't really amuse anyone, and random events get old *cough* every show on FOX,MTV and AS *cough*... darn that youtube, the internet is pretty powerful...

Now go discuss this issue!

Unfortunately, the internet is not capable of handling the traffic of broadcast television.

ugh I hate the shows on Mtv is like the teen version of Nick both run by viacom which consist of kookoos! The future is becoming worse sigh... like techtv to g4, dexter to juniper lee(cn), rockos to naked bros  . At this rate their isnt much use to get an hdtv since the shows are show bad you rather watch it on some blurry old tv.

I have a classic 20+ year old tube TV in my room and I bet if the tv could talk it would want to rip the bad shows right off its screen lol.

Internet is slowly taking over TV channels but in the end TV will still be the main source of home entertainment.

Just look at MTV2,Fuse,etc. all used to be good music video channels but since youtube came out no1 cares to watch music videos on TV.

Also theres a website where you can watch all episodes up to the 11th season of South Park for free.

These are just two examples.

I have to admit.. Even though Disney plays the same things over and over again, their shows are very entertaining...

I haven't watched TV in a long time. I don't even know what's on anyone, except for Avatar and Ugly Betty.

Well its been over a year and tv is still losing greatly. All I ever see is over-used jokes and reality crud..

I think the downfall on TV is the one we bring. When we first get Cable wet sit in complete awe at the glory that is TV. And we sit, and sit, and sit... and we get bored of it all. Eventually the demand for new material raises and the media has no choice but to give into that demand. Originality becomes scarce and more terriale shows are created. We can only blame ourselves, for watching TV too much. Try getting rid of TV for a year like I have. You'll be able to appreciate TV again. Believe Me!

Its funny.. I never had cable the first half of my life, and yet I got sick of it so fast. The only years I cared about tv was 1998-2002.

The TV in general in whole, is meant to be a fad. It never was meant to be the full dose in a person's daily life. I sometimes feel they purposely put on bad shows all the time to force others to get out more often, after all one of the many corcerns in this country is the alarming rate of fat & lazy individuals. But Gohan is right with the last statement too.

Another issue is how bad they butcher the anime here in the states. Alot of individuals complain how awful or whatever on some anime shows that get air. I gurantee, if they watch some of them fulling uncut, they be like, "hey, this show ain't half bad" or something just as close.
