I have been trying to put into words my thought. I am going to write a few things here, to put his election into perspective.

One of the things that really struck me last was watching McCain's concession speech, and the an hour later watching Obama acceptance speech. Right there you saw the difference between the two, not just the size of the crowd, nor it's makeup. Now don't get me wrong. I admire John McCain, his life of service and his ability to cross the aisle, but what we now have in Barack Obama is a leader, a mandate by the people for change . . . something hasn't happened like this since WWII, and the 4 term election of FDR.

Obama has stuck a nerve with the American People, and inspired not only myself, but my uninspired generation to get back into politics and make a difference. I cannot tell you how many of my peers (25 - 40) have never voted until yesterday. I never thought I would see not only a Black President, but a viable Black Presidential Candidate. How far has our country come in 50 years? And it is not that he is black, cause he is not. One of the reasons he won so handily is he represents modern America, the melting pot it was always meant to be.

Obama has that something special that very rarely comes along in a politician. He's got that thing that FDR, JFK, MLK, even Reagan had, the ability to lead and inspire . .. now I was not alive for any of those guys except Reagan, but Obama blows him away. I can only imagine what the rest were like talking with my parents, and co workers what it was like to live in the time of Kennedy, Martin Luther King, RFK . . . highly charismatic leaders, who brought our country through some very tough times. I can only watch vid's on YouTube. I get chills down my spine when I hear Obama talk, same as watching some of the old balck and white vids of MLK. It has been embarassing to watch our last few Presidents. Dubya has the charisma of a Stop Sign . . It was emabrassing to watch him get out witted Vladmir Putin. It was sad to see crazy guys like Mamoo and Chavez have more popularity around the world than him. Clinton, while he has charisma couldn't keep his zipper shut, and Bush Sr. he was just kind of embarassing as whole and seemed not fit for the office.

Here's the best example I could think of. I have never found a Presidential candidate who has inspired me to make me want to die for my country. If for example, there was a draft for wartime, I not only would I not go, but many of the people of my generation or younger would not either. I would for Barack. If there was a draft, and Barack told me my country needed me, I would go. T

his election was also about changing the "American Regime" that we have had in some for since the Nixon Administration, the "Skull and Bones Society". This election showed how out of touch the GOP has become with your average America. Too long have the pandered to a vocal right wing evangelical minority. It shows the chaging demographics of this country, and for the first time, the minority vote mattered, they have lost their way. Where has the GOP of Abraham Lincoln gone? Barack is more like the face of America than McCain was: A mixed race, a poor son of a immigrant who worked his butt off to make something for himself.

What was really telling about this election, how far the US had fallen in the rest of the world's eyes? 85% of respondents from foreign countries, Europe, Asia, The Middle East, wanted Barack Obama as President.

This was a Perfect Storm, and Barack has the potential to be up in the stratosphere with some of our greatest Presidents ever, he has to opportunity and the mandate from the people to change this country for the better. Can he do it? Only time will tell, but this is the most excited I have ever been for a President . . .
