What Would Cap Do?

A sad day, folks, as we learn that today American legend and hero, Robert Knievel, aka Evil Knievel, has passed away. Not from his many injuries sustained for the sake of entertaining the masses, or even from any sort of drug use or overdose. Robert "Evil" Knievel died of a heart failure. it's believed this may have stemmed from any of several diseases he has contracted over the past few years, but none are the definite culprit. The full story, and a brief history of his life, can be found in this article of The New York Times

I heard on the BBC last night.

All things considered though, he had a long life regardless of cause of death.

And, he has a kind of iconic immortality.

Both very good points. It's just that as a kid, Evil was my hero. Still kinda is. I had an Evil Knievel action figure that was the same size as Joes and Star wars, and I loved that thing. He could jump in an X-Wing and outfly that Skywalker kid, he could pick up a lightsaber and make Vader look like he was using a baseball bat, and he could show Captain America and GI Joe how to REALLY kick some terrorist ass the right way!

I dunno, maybe it sounds stupid coming from a 32 year old man, but now I think I finally know how my mom felt when Elvis died.

BtW, look for an Evil Kneivel custom to be in the works soon.

I know the toy you are talking about. I have seen it at cons, and advertised in some old comics. (You are a few years older than I am of course, which is likely how you had the actual toy, rather than just seeing the "old news" I did.)

If you can find them, (and you probably cannot), the wave 4 Minicon v/s packs from "Cybertron" had an EK paint theme. Good luck finding them though. I could not even find photo-reference.
