Well, obviously, eBay will be jumping. In all seriousness, as I posted a few months back, this is a wake-up call for both the US and China. The US is learning that even cheap good have a price. And, China is learning a tough lesson in transparency, quality control and the free market. Mattel seems to have tracked the violations to specific suppliers, and those guys are out. What either country does with these lessons is stull up in the air. Dom -wants to see less importing. |

Just a wild idea, why dont we all go into business together and start a toy manufacturer here in the States? |

*runs off to pack bags quickly* It is really bad that even standard toy factories won't stick to certain safety standards. The overall killer is that the workers at the factory are more concerned with getting in their wage. The companies that are controlling the factories and putting in the orders (knowingly the items don't conform to safety standards or in some case haven't been tested) are to blame though. And for what.. money and greed it really does epitomise what is wrong with today's world on the whole. For the most part there are really nice people out there. All too often though those that are in a position to influence or do something positive .. actually wind up doing something bad.

The problem is that consumers want cheap consumer products. The costs of manufacturing in the states are too high. (Think of your average action figure.) On that note, does anyone know any parents trying to get rid of the recalled toys, and any collectors who might want them? Obviously, kids cannot have the toys. But, collectors should not be deprived. |

Not heard anything yet.. but wasn't some of the BATMAN stuff the Exp thing? I saw them on clearance at tesco but passed.. I really didn't see much difference between that batman and the one that Kenner made in the 90s.. They are standable.. and.. well that's it really.. I prefer the more recent efforts from Mattel in the DC line.
