Check out this news article! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070430/ap_on_...ighway_collapse It is a bad thing to happen, but this proves one thing for sure, that during 9/11 it was completely reasonable to believe that the fiery crash from a plane loaded with jet fuel could melt the steel within the towers. I hope that metally challenged Rosie O'donnel could shut up now, with her "I've never seen fire melt steel!" comments. Oh wait, comparing her to mentally challenged people would be an insult to people that were born different without a choice, Rosie chooses to be stupid.

Ah-HA!!! That's who Patrick in your signature remionds me of! Rosie O'Donnell!!! LOL!!! Man, but street melting... freeway no less... that must suck for folks that use that way as their daily commute. But at least there was no death toll in this, and very little serious injury. Yes, the report says the driver walked away with "only" second degree burns, but has anyone here ever had a second degree burn or seen one up close? That's not minor. -Jim |

Yeah...luckily no one was hurt. It could of been really bad. As for Rosie O'Donnel...bah. Do some research before you speak of such things. I work for a steel service center...I know enough about steel to know that if you heat it up (just like any other material)...you take the molecular structure of it...and distort it from its normal state. Ever try bending a steel bar or rebar? It works alot easier if you heat it with a torch. I'm just glad there was no fatalities in this incident. |

Im glad no one was killed too, its a good thing this didnt happen during commute hours, or it would've been a nightmare. Turns out the driver had an extensive rap sheet, what do you guys think, should he have been given the OK to drive hazardous materials? Im not sure what to think, he did have a clean driving record, but he also had multiple felony convictions. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...MNGQUPIKI01.DTL

Yeah, I agree Rosie O'Donnell is definetely mentally challenged and ignorant. She was good in the Flinstones movie but she sucked after that anyway.. haha..! Yeah, I believe that burning gasoline or fuel can melt steel, I've seen it on tv before. It sucks about that crash though, I feel bad for those people. - Jd. |

I think that calling the 2nd degree burns "minor" is a function of how bad it likely could have been. No fatalities on something like this is amazing. Only 2nd degree burns on the driver is pretty impressive too. The problem with the melting steel is that some people would rather buy a wild conspiracty theory over simple fact. Metal is conductive. It soaks up heat. Heat causes things to burn, or melt. Either way, it compromises structural integrity. O'Donnel was probably being obnoxious for the sake of being so. What is her audience nowadays? |

Keep it local. The healthiest leper in the colony is still very very sick. www.theanimalrescuesite.com | |
