Poseidon Empires
</span>

By Jessica Ly
a. k. a. Silent Dragonet

This has all the descriptions for the cities and other locations in Poseidon Empires, listed primarily in alphabetical order with a few exceptions. More will be added to the underwater section when necessary. If there are any questions, suggestions, or complaints, please contact me via PM or AIM. I also make a lot of typos so I apologize for them and any confusion they cause. Please report to me any you find. Thank you and I hope you enjoy your time at Zelpha.

If you wish to establish a thread for your character's house or business, go ahead, just mention what city it's in somewhere in your description. If your home or business is in the middle of nowhere, that's fine too.

If you have any ideas for cities or villages that you want me to add, contact me and if it fits, I'll add it in. You'll get full credit of course.

A few things may get repeated so if you think you read it before in something else I wrote, it probably said the thing. Some say less, some say more, so there are some slight differences from city to city. Furniture and such tend to be relatively be the same through though.

I’ve decided to test out this format and I hope it turns out well as I think its better this way if it works out.

For those wishing to link back to the description of your choice, here’s how. Just copy and paste what I’ve provided in the Code box. You can then put that link in your own thread so people can refer back to it if they want to.

You don’t have to do that, it’s just there for those that would find it convenient.

The city maps are not done yet. I realize a lot of the details are half-assed and I may improve on them in the future or provide a picture... But for now, I hope this will do. I'm sure you can expand on it yourself in your own posts in any case.

And where I have positions open, yes, you can apply for them, just contact me about it and I'll give you any details you need.

Underwater Cities & Locations
Other than the Submerged Prison and the Caverns of Maura, every other location underwater in Poseidon Empires has an air dome covering it. These air domes are connected by roads with their own magical barrier that merges with the domes. To enter from the mainland into the Undersea Highway, a person needs to enter Serim. For more information, read about Serim.

For Aquanauts wanting to enter the sea, the mages managing the local air dome can provided a temporary opening for them. They will have to return the long way however. Well, except for fisherman with special permission, proven with a record of their name and a metal pass with the design of a fish on it. Since Aquanauts have their name tattooed on them, it’s hard to lie about that.

Underwater Cities & Locations
These are only some of the underwater cities and locations. If you have ideas for some, feel free to discuss them with me. If I think they fit, I’ll add it in and you will get credit for it. All underwater cities, including the palace and university, are covered by a magical air dome so other races can reside in the cities as well. The air domes also provide some protection against invaders, but need to be maintained by members of the Mages Circles.

The Caverns of Maura and the Submerged Prison do not have the air dome. The cells and certain halls in the prison do not have any water though. This is to both accommodate other races and also not to give Aquanaut prisoners an easy way out.

[Minor Summary: The throne room is on the top floor as the second floor is private and the bottom floor is simply sealed off.]

Arine -The Palace
Arine, nicknamed the “Protected Palace,” was named after Ise Tian’s wife, Arin in 1204 PI as Arin means “Protection” in the old Aquanaut language. It was also the first structure built by the Aquanauts since the Dark Ages.

Guards and servants are always roaming about. The temperature like other undersea areas is low so it’s very cold. Not much sunlight reaches down here but the Aquanauts have a way of lighting up their world.

General Information
Residents: The Tuyan Pyasa and all those that work in the palace. The military also has rooms here though they may have outside homes.
Security: Poseidon Empires’ military
Technological Sphere: Developing – There is no electricity or heat system; Aquanauts have no real need for either. If someone wants to cook, they use fire. Magic play a very strong role in the palace.

Furniture in this area is primarily made of a thick, teal gray stone, like all Aquanaut furniture tends to be. Only the difference between furniture in Arine and the furniture in the undersea cities is that pretty much every piece has more designs carved into them and more precious metals and gems. The beds are strong and comfortable fabric sacks filled with sand usually. Pillows and blankets tend to be just like human furniture. There are also fancy draperies and tapestries here and there, colors being shades of teal, blue, gray, green, and maybe even some purple. Silver is also a popular choice for the embroidery. Clothes are normally of the Aquanaut style; please refer to the guide for more information.

Architecture & Layout
Arine is the largest building in Poseidon Empires, unless you count Veris, which considers itself a city. It is also the oldest building in Poseidon Empires, and has undergone some renovations due to the introduction of air domes in 855 AB.

The palace is a symmetrical building facing north with a large, circular courtyard in front of it. The courtyard is very empty and just nice design made out of stone covering the ocean floor. It’s really only there for people to gather on when announcements are made by the ruler.

The entrance tower, located exactly of the middle of the front, goes all the way up to the surface to connect with the above sea level entrance. The design that is the same as the rest of the palace except it has a flat roof and it may look paler above water. The other towers are not as high of course. The towers closest to the edges are shorter than the towers closer to the center.

The main building is like an oval container with a beautiful but spiky roof. It is not easy to move on and was designed like this for that reason. The wings however, have a smooth but steep roof that is also hard to stand on. The wings are basically rectangular in shape, but they have rounded ends. The roofs of the towers are steep and smooth, moving up to form a point.

Of all the buildings in Poseidon Empires, this has to the most intricate design on the outer walls and even some on the inner walls. Parts of the inner walls are left smooth though, and all the floors are smooth and plain except for the ballroom. The ballroom’s floor is still smooth, but much more interesting to look at. The ceilings are very dull and very high, but decorations make up for that. The windows are a mix of alternating tall, diamond shaped holes with smaller, round ones. This is true for the entire place except the bottom floor and the towers. The towers have narrow rectangular windows except the entrance tower, that one doesn’t have any windows. The bottom floor has no windows either as they have all be sealed. Of course, no wall is straight looking on the outside. Glass has been added to most of the windows in the palace and they can’t be opened without removing the glass or just breaking the window. Only the bridge has no glass, but the windows are high up.

The balcony opening is a semi circle, except for the small balcony above the entrance to the throne room since that has a door. Like all doors in the palace, it’s a rectangle with a semicircle on top. Doors are made out of wood and are something that was obviously added after the introduction of air domes. Prior to this, nothing really was a door, just the doorway. In the palace, any door not leading to a bedroom is a double door and typically large in size.

Lights here are normally lit up by magic as it’s one of the duties of the Mages Circle besides keeping up air dome. Of course, the mages have shifts for these so the ones that are not on duty can attend meetings, train, or just relax. If the lights are not lit by magic, the servants must take care of that.

As it is a palace, it is quite heavily decorated. Also, the rooms in the wings are normally square while rooms elsewhere are not. The tower has circular or semi-circle shaped rooms. The rooms in the main part of the building are not any specific shape, and will be easier to picture using the maps.

Above Sea Level Entrance (ASLE)
If a person wants to enter the palace from the mainland, they can do, but it takes a long journey if they choose to travel on foot. However, it would be much faster than traveling to Arina on foot as the entryway into the underwater highway is much further north and just south of Limera in the city Serim. This entryway was made to suit the needs of PE’s southern mainland residents.

Far out in the ocean is a small building that is connected to the mainland by a long, sturdy stone bridge. The bridge is made of the same material as most of PE’s underwater buildings and is an architectural beauty. There is also a roof and walls with high windows to block out rain and excess water. The roof is high enough so that horse riders may pass through with ease and wide enough so that carriages may also pass through with ease. There is no lighting though and the windows aren’t that big.

At the end of the bridge, there will always be guards awaiting the guests. The number of guards depends on the situation but it is normally just two out front. There’s enough lighting here so that the guards can see far even at night. There are more guards behind the gate, stationed all around the building in case attackers choose to take a water route.

Proof of identification is required to pass. An acceptable reason to meet with anyone in the palace is also required.

After passing the gate and guards, there is another gate that would open up to a round hole. That hole is for the magical elevator that basically just a circular stone platform raised and lowered by water controlled by the stationed mages. Visitors need to wait for the mages to raise the platform before stepping on or else they would fall to their death as it is a long distance.

Floors, Rooms, & the Five Towers
From Arina, the capital, the first gate they see leads to the…

Entrance Tower – The Tallest Tower; located in the front of the palace
When a person enters the palace, they will normally be at the top floor due to how it was designed. If one enters from the ASLE, connected to the top of the entrance tower, they go down to reach the top floor. If one enters from the original entrance, they go up as entry to the rest of the bottom floor is blocked off. Originally, Aquanauts just swam up, but due to the air domes, a magical elevator was developed to make the trips less time consuming. It is just like the one in the ASLE.

Guards are stationed here as well, in front of and behind the gate at the top and bottom. There are usually just two guards in front of the gate.

Proof of identification is required to pass. An acceptable reason to meet with anyone in the palace is also required.

Top Floor – The Social Floor; Throne Room, Ballroom, and the large balcony is here
The top floor is one of the busiest floors as this is where the throne room and ballroom are located. The entire top floor, excluding the wings and towers, is used for the throne room and ballroom. The throne room located on the southern end and is sealed off from the ballroom by a curved wall. There is a double door in the center of the wall and above that, a small balcony. The balcony is a new addition, and it has a door of its own, that also happens to be covered by a curtain.

In the throne room, across from the doorway at the other end of the room is the throne. It was carved out of the same rock the floor was made from so they are connected. Unless it was cut off, the throne can never be moved. There are two identical chairs, one on the east side of the throne and one on the west. The one on the west is for the first heir to the throne while the one on the east is for the spouse of the current ruler. They were added in during Hae Tian’s time and were never moved. No one other than the designated person is allowed to sit there. On both sides of the room are benches with cushions and there was clear, large pathway leading up to the throne from the doorway. The throne room is only used for official meetings with people outside of the Qypusa (Council) such as ambassadors, foreign ambassadors, foreign guests, or even Aquanaut citizens that wish to discuss something with the current ruler assuming they manage to get in. Other than that, the throne room is normally empty, and because of this, it has a back entrance located on the east side for the current ruler and whoever else that may be present at the meeting. The back entrance is normally guarded and locked from the inside. Only the current ruler has the key. The back entrance leads to a hallway that goes along the curve of the room. Going in one direction takes you to the throne and other seats. The other direction leads to the small balcony at the front of the throne room.

Outside the throne room, there are curved staircases leading to the lower floor, one to the west of the throne room and one to the east. It’s possible for the ruler to get by unnoticed by his or her guest to the back entrance this way, but that’s not to say they can’t be noticed if the other person actually tried.

The rest of the room is considered the ballroom so other than the fancy chandeliers, draperies, and tapestries, the room is empty. The floor has very intriguing patterns though, and appears to have been filled with silver. At the northern end, is a large balcony that manages by mages as guards to make sure nothing and no one enters or make a quick leave if they are the suspicious type. The balcony is mainly for making announcements to the people in the courtyard below, and the entrance tower goes right through it.

Entrance to the Western Tower is on across the room, on the opposite side of the entrance to the Eastern Tower. The Western Tower is both guarded and magically sealed to only allow authorized personal though however.

West Wing – The Servants Wing; Entrance to Eastern Tower between ballroom & this wing
The Servants Wing is full of the bedrooms and baths for the servants. There are two baths, rather large in size as one is for all the males and the other is for all the females. Like most Aquanaut baths, it looks like a round, shallow pool with large steps leading deeper and deeper. The purpose of these steps is a place to sit while bathing and not actually for walking on, but that’s what they also used for now that the water is kept outside by the air domes. The pool is about waist deep for an adult Aquanaut, thus may be higher for shorter races. Other businesses can be taken care of in here too but I won’t describe here or anywhere.

All the servants get their own rooms, unless they wish to room with another. All the servant bedrooms are the same size, only large enough for a double bed (or two beds) and a place for storing clothes and any other belongings. If the room only has one bed, then there is room for a small desk and stool. For the decor, it looks nice and as good as a middle class person’s room although the size is about the same as a low class person’s room.

The entrance to the kitchens is guarded and sealed to only allow those given permission to enter. Permission is shown with a medallion that is a dull gray metal on a chain, and it has the design of a fire on it to represent the kitchen. Getting your own medallion is hard as only the ruler and his spouse may give them out, stealing one is another thing however.
East Wing – The Guests Wing
The Guests Wing has much fewer bedrooms and more baths than the Servants Wing. It also has a lounge for guests to relax in. There are a couple of bookcases with translated Aquanician books; a tall, cylinder fish tank; some chairs, a couple of tables, and a white piano. Of course, the piano was imported and doesn’t match most of the furniture in the room so it has been draped with a cloth that matches the draperies. This is also converted into a dining room if need be.

There are 8 bedrooms in the Guest Wing and each has their own bath. That bath is smaller than the servants’ but the decorations should make up for that. It was designed for royalty and is large enough for one person with some room to roam about. The Aquanauts are sure their guests’ personal baths might be larger, but the amount of space was limiting. The Tuyan’s baths are the same size as the guests’ actually.

As for the bedrooms, they are larger than the servants. All of them have a double bed that was imported from Serdio since the late Hae Tian wasn’t sure if the guests would like sleeping on Aquanician beds. The other furniture such as the chairs, the desks, and the bureaus, were also imported, each from a different country. With the help of embroidered cloths, they made to match. The clothes were of the Aquanician design though, and the walls, floors, view, and temperature would clearly remind anyone where they were if they were to ever forget with the foreign products.

Third Floor – The Defense Floor
In center of the third floor is a statue of Poseidon in the middle of a round, one foot tall fountain that has exotic fish swimming around and exotic plants. The statue is about twelve feet tall and the fountain is about twenty feet wide in diameter. The statue had always been there, but the fountain was added in after implanting the air domes.

Other than that and the curved set of staircases, two leading up and another two leading down, there nothing else in this room.

The entrance to eastern tower is in same general location as on the top floor. It is guarded and sealed to only allow soldiers, mages, and healers through.
West Wing – The Military Wing
The west wing is has three rooms total. On the south side is the training room, one of the largest rooms in the entire place. On the north side is a large meeting room and the General’s private quarters along with his own bath. It is no bigger than the bedrooms and baths for the guests and the Imperial family. The bath isn’t much different in looks, and how he or she decorates his or her room is entirely up to them. The General’s room is normally guarded and these guards also watch over the meeting room.

Naturally, the training room has equipment to assist with training and enough space for them to do so. The meeting room has a large table for planning out strategies as well as various books and files that the military might need. The meeting room is normally locked with not in use, only the General and Head Mage have the keys to it.

In the training room, there’s also a hidden and sealed entrance to the military tower.
East Wing – The Recovery Wing
The east wing is similar to the west one of the third floor. On the south side is the examination room and the healers’ quarters and bath. The examination room is use for all medical exams and surgeries. The room is rather big to accommodate many people although it is not very ideal, but as said before, there is a limit of space. The healers actually just share one large room. They also have a connection room for their bath, which is about as big as the servants’ bath. The bath can only be entered through their quarters.

On the north side is one giant room for the patients to rest and recover.

In the examination room, there’s also a hidden and sealed entrance to the mages tower.

Second Floor – The Imperial Floor; Office and Study is located here.
The second floor is strictly floor for the Tuyan Pyasa and whoever they let associate with them down here. First thing to note, there are only two sets of stairs here that lead to the third floor. The stairs leading to the first floor have been completely removed and the holes were sealed with stone. Second thing to note, unlike all the other floors so far, the ceiling is as high here but still rather tall. Third thing to note, the first thing one would see is the curved wall and double doors to the office of the current ruler located on the north side of the floor. On the south side is the curved wall and double doors leading to the study. They look identical to each other though.

The office is mainly for the ruler to do his or her business privately. The Muqpyu or Head of Council is also normally working in here with the current ruler. The wall is full of bookcases with various books and files, except on the north side where the windows are. The ruler has large desk and chair in the center of the room facing south at the doorway. There’s also a desk and chair for the Muqpyu on the east side of the room facing west.

The study is mainly where both the ruler’s spouse and their children would get educated about their duties. Of course, it can also be a place to relax. Depending on their position, they may have to learn more such as if they were the spouse, the heir, or the heir’s spouse, they will have stricter curriculum than the second in line for the throne. It looks all the like the office, bookcases lining the walls except on the south side where the windows are. There is a podium on the south side of the room though. It’s for the instructor and there are smaller desk and chairs in front it.

Naturally, the floor has a lot of guards.

The entrance to eastern tower is in same general location as on the top floor. It is guarded and sealed to only allow the Imperial family through.
West Wing – The Official Wing
The west wing on the second floor is for the treasury and the official records of every citizen in Poseidon Empires that has entered the university or the palace. Naturally, they don’t have a record everybody in the nation, but they like to believe they do. This is a very important wing so it’s much more heavily guarded. There are guards in and out of the rooms, one at every window and door, front and back if possible. The treasury is located in a room on the north side and the records are in a room on the south side.
East Wing – The Private Wing
The east wing on the second floor is known as the private wing, because these are the ruler’s and his or her family’s private quarters and baths. For the size, it’s the same as the Guests Wing except with the lack of a lounge; there are 10 bedrooms and baths here. For the decoration, they stay very true to the Aquanaut style, just on the fancy and wealthy side. Usually, every person has their own room, but if they choose to sleep with their spouse or even with a sibling or something, they can as all rooms have double beds.

Bottom Floor
This floor hasn’t been inhabited since the reign of Hwe Tian. It used to be where the military headquarters. At the moment, it’s completely empty and dark with no light source whatsoever. There are no windows either and no visible door leads here anymore.

The Farthest Western Tower – The Military Tower
Military quarters tend to be much like servant quarters and there baths as well, although the baths are smaller as the room is divided in half. One side is for males and the other for females.
7th Floor – Military’s Quarters
6th Floor – Military’s Quarters
5th Floor – Military’s Quarters
4th Floor – Military’s Baths
3rd Floor – Hidden and Sealed Entrance
2nd Floor – Storage
Bottom Floor – Empty, just like the rest of the bottom floor

The Western Tower – The Council’s Tower
This tower is a lot like the Military Tower, except for the quarters and the meeting room. It’s mainly just a room with a large round table enough to fit the 21 members of the Qpyusa (Council) and some room for people who may stand on the side during meeting. As for the quarters, since there’s less of them, they have larger rooms. There exactly 15 of them. The bath is the same however due to having even less space.
8th Floor – Five Councilmember’s Quarters
7th Floor – Five Councilmember’s Quarters
6th Floor – Five Councilmember’s Quarters
5th Floor – Council’s Baths
4th Floor – Guarded and Sealed Entrance
3rd Floor – Meeting Room
2nd Floor – Storage
Bottom Floor – Empty, just like the rest of the bottom floor

The Eastern Tower – The Kitchen, Dining, & Storage Tower
The only tower with more than one entrance, and probably the easiest to get into but that’s where safety precautions come in to avoid any… accidents. In any case, servants can’t enter the other dining areas below the kitchen unless they go through the kitchen. Entering from the third Floor or second floor isn’t possible for them. Likewise, the military can’t enter from the second or fourth floor. The Imperial family can enter from any floor.
8th Floor – Storage
7th Floor – Storage
6th Floor – Storage
5th Floor – Servants’ Dining Room
4th Floor – Guarded and Sealed Main Entrance & Kitchen
3rd Floor – Guarded and Sealed Entrance & Military (& Mages) Dining Room
2nd Floor – Guarded and Sealed Entrance & Imperial Dining Room
Bottom Floor – Empty, just like the rest of the bottom floor

The Farthest Eastern Tower – The Mages Tower
This tower is also like the military tower except for the training room, which was designed for more tricky spells that would be too dangerous to do with others around. It’s really only for one person to go in at a time.
7th Floor – Mages’ Quarters
6th Floor – Mages’ Quarters
5th Floor – Mages’ Baths
4th Floor – Solo Training Room
3rd Floor – Hidden and Sealed Entrance
2nd Floor – Storage
Bottom Floor – Empty, just like the rest of the bottom floor

[Minor Summary: It's the giant capital city, home to 4 million people, making it the largest city in Poseidon Empires. It's just south of the Arine Palace. It mainly occupied by Aquanauts.]

Arina -The Capital
Arina, nicknamed the “Protected City,” was named after Ise Tian’s wife, Arin in 1204 PI. It was also the first city established by the Aquanauts and is currently the largest. It is almost always full of life with people just living out their lives and it is a popular place for visitors as it has the most the do in a safe environment. It is not as lively at night here though; Veris and Rila Etala are much livelier at night. People still walk around at night and there is some entertainment here and there though. On the bright side, Arina is one of the safest cities in the nation.

General Information
Daiidahinu: None – The Tuyan and the Qypusa watch over it.
Security: Poseidon Empires’ military
Population: 4 million; primarily Aquanauts
Technological Sphere: Developing – All the roads are paved and there is running water on the first floors for all homes, but not much else. There is no electricity or heat system; Aquanauts have no real need for either. If someone wants to cook, they use fire. There are no factories and people walk for the most part, though some might have carts that they pull themselves. Magic does play a strong role.

Furniture in this city is primarily made of a thick, teal gray stone, like all Aquanaut furniture tends to be. The beds are strong and comfortable fabric sacks filled with sand usually. Pillows and blankets tend to be just like human furniture. Clothes are normally of the Aquanaut style; please refer to the guide for more information.

Almost every building has a unique tapestry that basically says their business’s name or name of the owner within a woven pattern. Shrines have them too, except their tapestries have the name of the god the shrine is for. These tapestries are large and hang in a obvious place at a high altitude. Due to a lack of wind, they don’t flutter and there’s no worry of them being lost. Other things could happen to them, like something stealing it, but that’s no easy task. It is a crime to steal these things.

Streets
Tian Uoneidane (commonly shortened to Tiuon) – North to South Street
Wenuhan Uoneidane (commonly shortened to Wenuhuon) – East to West Main Street

[I’ll name the others some other time.]

Architecture & Layout
The basic shape of the city is a circle with a smaller circle at its center, the Arina Center. It is divided into four main sectors: the northwest, the northeast, the southwest, and the southeast. The two main streets are what divide the four sectors, and meet at the town center.

The city is surrounded by a tall stone wall so the only way to enter or leave is through the gates. It is massive in size and the majority of its commercial businesses close to the main streets and the center. Where people live depend partly on luck and partly on social class. To live as near as possible to the main streets is luck, but to live near the town center is wealth. Though, the poorer sectors of Arina are not actually terrible as they cleaned and taken care of once a year by the wealthy. It is just most people feel safe when the live closer to the center or near the palace. There are quite a number that actually prefer to live on the other rim of the city though .Arina is a very beautiful city that tries to stay close to its roots, though certain changes were needed and quite obvious.

The buildings very in size, some are incredibility tall but also very narrow. It is hard to believe they are even stable when looking that them. These were the buildings for the low class. In terms of style, I’ve already said this before, but, they are all made out of a gray teal stone with designs carved into them, mostly on the outside. The walls are designed to not appear straight from the outside with all the designs cut into them. The windows can be circles, ovals, diamonds, or rectangles with sizes and width varying from building to building. Some may have glass, some may not, depends on how rich the person is. Doorways are rectangles with a semi-circle on top, and balconies are semi-circles. Inside, the walls, floors, and ceilings may look all the same, a smooth stone surface. There may be designs in the walls or floors but only if the person is willing to pay for that kind of work. There is no carpeting, and only the doors are made wood. Some houses may only have a front door, the rest would use cloth or something to cover the door way and windows. If you wish to know more, refer to the guide, there are some things I didn’t mentioned in this.

Some Buildings and Areas
These are just some of the places I feel that you should know about. Other locations are up to you, but try to keep it true to the setting of PE. Other than the tapestries, most buildings look alike although size, window size, window location, door size, door location, and wall patterns look different. That difference is hard to tell for a newcomer though.

North Gate & Tower
The North Gate is the most used Gate in Arina. It is the quickest path from Arina to the University, and many students like making visits to the capital which is why it’s used so often. Plus, facing north, it’s the quickest route to Serim, although, if the person can’t get through the university, they may have to take a different route anyway.

The North Tower is where the guards and mages stay. The mages are the ones who keep up the air dome. They are responsible for both the pathway out of Arina and the dome around Arina. Of course, the mages take shifts. All the gates have mages and guards.

The guards are always around, but the gates are also normally always open except in times of crisis. Checks are not normally performed if there is no alert except during big events were many people would gather.

East Gate & Tower
The East Gate is used less often than the North Gate but much more than the South Gate.

South Gate & Tower
The South Gate is used the least as it leads directly to the courtyard in front of Arine. Although, checks are performed on people go through this gate since it goes to the palace. It doesn’t matter if the people are leaving or entering, they are checked.

West Gate & Tower
The West Gate is used about as much as the East Gate.

Arina Center – It is like a town square
The Arina Center is a large circle in the center of town, big enough to fit most of its citizens. When a person enters the town center, the floor is no longer a smooth light teal gray stone but made up of white and gray pebbles. It is still smooth enough to walk barefoot on comfortably. There's also a big, round pool in the center of the circle with a statue of Poseidon. There are exotic fish in the pool. It is the exact some statue as in the palace and in the Poseidon Temple, but smaller.
Arina Library
The Arina Library is the largest library in Poseidon Empires and holds primarily pieces of Aquanician origin. There are few documents from other nations though. The Arina Library is one of the oldest buildings in Poseidon Empires, and the only Aquanaut documents it does not carry are the ones deemed too important and therefore, are held in the palace library. The Arina Library is heavily secured, but is also open to the public. There are five floors.

It is near the center of Arina.

Poseidon Inn
The Poseidon Inn is the third inn established in Arina, but the second largest with three floors. Unlike the Arina Hotel, it’s much more true to the Aquanaut culture and a shrine to Poseidon is right next door. It also helps that it is cheaper than the Arina Hotel, and still have excellent service and quality. However, it is normally booked.

It is near the North Gate, and thus, the first inn most people see.

Arina Hotel & Cafe
The Arina Hotel & Cafe is the largest resting spot in Poseidon Empires and the first. It is considered very high class so it is very expensive to stay here. There are five floors. It stays very true to the Aquanaut culture in terms of furniture and décor, but some beds have different mattresses for guests that don’t want to try something too different.

Inns and hotels came around to suit foreign visitors as Aquanauts had no real need for them before. With the air domes however, even Aquanauts began to make use of these services.

It is near the center of Arina.

Hwe Inn
The Hwe Inn is named after its order of establishment, meaning it was built second but it is not as well known as the Poseidon Inn. That might be the fault of its location or it could just be because it is smaller and not as good quality as the Poseidon Inn. But the price is fair to its services. It has two floors.

It is near the East Gate, and is sometimes the first inn people see if more People used the East Gate.

Auoumein Rilan – Restaurant
This restaurant is named after Demitrius, using his birth name, and translates to “Thank you, Rilan.” It is expensive and popular to the point where reservations are necessary because it serves all kinds meat, poultry, vegetables, and of course seafood. Since everything other than seafood is rather expensive here, not many businesses like to take the risk. Auoumein Rilan is one of the few to do so and was also the first. For a restaurant, it is very big, having the entire first floor as a kitchen and the second floor as the dining area. Guests don’t see the kitchen though. They walk through a beautiful hallway and up a set stairs to the dining area.

It is near the center of Arina.

Enua Yoysaidane – Tavern
The name translates to “water tavern” or bar or pub, whichever word you prefer. Because the name is so long, most people just call it EnYoy. It’s a popular tavern because of its location, near the center of Arina, where else. It is easy to find and has good quality alcohol. Of course, folks who don’t wish to be seen would go to smaller place somewhere else.

It is near the center of Arina.

Shrine of Poseidon – One of many in the city and in the nation
There is more than one shrine to Poseidon and none of them are that different from each other. It’s just a local place for people who can make it to the temple or don’t have the time to take a long trip to the temple but which to pay their respects. It’s a two-story building with just a statue of Poseidon at the far end on the bottom floor. The second floor is for the followers that take care of the shrine.

One is right to the Poseidon Inn. Others are located here and there.

Shrine of Demitrius – One of many in the city and in the nation
There are fewer shrines to Demitrius than shrines to Poseidon, but Demitirius also has one special and larger shrine on the mainland. These smaller shrines look exactly the same as Poseidon’s shrines except there is a statue of Demitrius instead.

One is near Auoumein Rilan. Others are located here and there.

Other places – Use your imagination, it’s fine as long as it fit the setting. You have enough examples to follow.

[Location: Ave Fune]
[Minor Summary: It's not really a city since no really really lives here except for a select few in the temples, it's more like a cemetery. There are two temples here, one to Poseidon and one to Demitrius.]

Ave Fune -The Sacred City
Ave Fune translates to “Dear Memory” in the old language. It was founded around 1210 PI as a burial site. The Temple of Poseidon is basically Poseidon’s grave. Later, a the Temple of Demitrius would be built and also is Demitrius’s grave. Because of this, it has been nicknamed the “Sacred City.”

Devoted Followers come and go all the time, and people who wish to pay respects to their deceased also often visit this city. Only two people actually live here, the Viauideu and the Hweuideu as they must take care of the temples. Sometimes other Followers may stay at the temples and help, but they don’t have to. There are no businesses here, but Ave Fune does make collections for funerals and the like. The money is used for supplies or to pay for hired workers, but the rest of the money goes to the palace as a tax. They two that have to live here live very modestly.

General Information
Daiidahinu: None – The Viauideu loosely holds this position. Sometimes the Hweuideu may take charge as well.
Security: 20 Captains, 30 Lieutenants, a few Sergeants, and many Guards from the nation’s military
Population: 2+; primarily Aquanauts that are strict followers of Poseidon and/or Demitrius

Both temples have a unique tapestry that basically says name of the god they are dedicated to within a woven pattern. These tapestries are large and hang in an obvious place at a high altitude. Due to a lack of wind, they don’t flutter and there’s no worry of them being lost. Other things could happen to them, like something stealing it, but that’s no easy task. It is a crime to steal these things.

Streets
Via Uoneidane (commonly shortened to Viauon) – North to South Main Street
Moa Uoneidane (commonly shortened to Moauon) – East to West Main Street

Architecture & Layout
Both temples look alike, only their location and there tapestries tell you which temple they are. They are made out of the same gray teal stone, and are very tall. They both have a total of 3 floors: the top floor is the tomb with no body, the second floor is where the Head Follower and visiting Followers resides, and the bottom floor is where ceremonies are held and where people pay their respects.

They look like pyramids and… I’ll fix this when I decide how they look.

Important Buildings and Areas
As Ave Fune is a place mainly for burials, there are only two actual buildings.

Ave Fune Center – It is like a town square
The center is just a giant center and nothing is there, but it is where the two main roads cross.

Temple of Poseidon – Located at the north end of Viauon
There are usually lots of people here, even if it’s not a special day.

Temple of Demitrius – Located at the south end of Viauon
There are usually people here too but less than the one at Poseidon’s temple.

[Minor Summary: The city with a lot of research facilities. The air domes were invented here, but not much progress has been made in anything else for centuries.]

Qulan -The Research City
Qulan was founded around 800 AB, and was made into a research site around 840 AB by Hwe Tian. It is now known as the Research City by Aquanauts and this is where the magical domes were developed as it used to only research magic but soon ventured into the area of science with the urge of Hwe Tian. However, regarding the areas of science, they never made much discovery, and did more destruction than good. Qulan is not Z.E.A.L. after all. However, with magic, they made much more progress. Nowadays, they hope to expand in the areas of science though.

Qulan means “to seek” in the old language.

General Information
Daiidahinu: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Daiidahinu in general terms…
Security: 15 Captains, 25 Lieutenants, a few Sergeants, and many Guards from the nation’s military
Population: About 4,000; primarily Aquanauts
Technological Sphere: Progressive – [ADD?] There are some factories and cars, but carriages and carts are still the popular choice for most local citizens. Every home has heat and running water, but not electricity. Oil lamps, candles, or magic provide the lighting usually.

Streets
[I’ll decide these later.]

Architecture & Layout
The style of buildings is pretty much the same as Arina’s except it has more short and wide buildings for labs. Most of these labs are in the center.

Important Buildings and Areas
These are just some of the places I feel that you should know about. Other locations are up to you, but try to keep it true to the setting of PE.

Qulan Research Administration
The underwater city of Qulan is mostly inhabited by researchers of various sorts and their family. The job of the QRA is to keep researchers in check and it was created on the order of Hae Tian on April 10, 1378 AB. They have established rules on what researcher cannot do due to the safety and health issues. They also aid the Daiidahinu ranks by handling the collected fees and fines.

It is located near the center of Qulan.

Other Areas – Use your imagination based on the examples provided.

[Minor Summary: This city has a fun night life, and a lot of people come here to learn how to paint, to sing, to dance, to act, to write novels, and other creative subjects.]

Rila Etala -The Dream Pathway
Rila Etala, known as the “Dream Pathway” because it that’s what it means in the old Aquanaut language. It was founded around 841 AB as a response to the school and Qulan. Neither of the two place supported the arts, so for those who wish to pursue creative writing, art, music, dancing, or acting, they could come to Rila Etala. There are all sorts of theaters, galleries, shops, and various other businesses centered on the arts either to support them or to make money out of them.

During the day, not much happens as many people are training or learning or practicing or whatever they need to do to move ahead. At night is when the fun starts. Regular families don’t normally live here unless they have a business here. Many of the residents are trying to become more known, some may already be well known and active, some may just be teachers now, and others many make things that will be of use by the entertainers. Others have businesses aimed at the audience and fans. There are restaurants for example and clothing stores that would imitate the styles of the famous entertainers. Since the city is rather large, there are also a few bookstores all with creative literature. Some people manage museums and such.

General Information
Daiidahinu: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Daiidahinu in general terms…

Streets
[I’ll decide these later.]

Architecture & Layout
Other than the fact that it is not laid out in a giant circle, Rila Etala is very similar to Arina with how its buildings look and all. People with less money may share a house, and there are many dormitories though.

Some Buildings and Areas
These are just some of the places I feel that you should know about. Other locations are up to you, but try to keep it true to the setting of PE.

Rila Etala Center
The center of Rila Etala is just like Arina’s center except that instead of a statue of Poseidon, there is a platform for performances. It can be used by anyone, but on certain days, special performances are held and no one else is allowed on.

Rila Etala Museum & Archive
This building is one of the largest in Rila Etala, and is located near the center. It holds the much older pieces since the founding of Rila Etala. If a resident of Rila Etala has passed away or just decided to stop pursuing the arts completely, his or her work is place here for all and any one to see. It is a very important place to the residents as it’s their city’s history. There are five floors.

Rila Etala Theather
The largest theather in Rila Etala, and also located near the center. Only the best of the best perform here in acting, dancing, or playing music. Paintings can also be hung on the walls here, but only the ones considered the best get put up.

Rila Etala Café
This is another place located near the center, and one of the most famous places to eat too. Paintings are hung on the walls and readings are occasionally done in here as well as little performances be it poetry, acting, dancing, or playing music. The food is also of very good quality and the place is often booked.

Rila Etala Hotel
This is located near the center as well, and it’s the largest inn in the city with six floors. It is cheaper than the Arina Hotel in Arina but with just as good quality. It gets so many guests that it can afford to do that. However, other than room service, which costs extra, there’s no other way to get food in here.

Other locations – Use your imagination; as long as it fits in with the area, its fine.

[Minor Summary: This city is how one enters the Undersea Highway from the mainland. Most of it is underwater with just the gate near the surface.]

Serim -The Connecting City
Serim is one of the smaller cities, but doesn’t look that much different from the other Aquanaut cities except for one thing. There’s a wooden and behind that wooden is a long tunnel made mostly of magic and partially of stone. The stone is for the pathway and stairs that lead up to the coast of the mainland. Anyone can open the gate but it’s easy to see when they do. Only during times of crisis is this gate locked and heavily guarded.

It means “Guidance” in the old and dead Aquanaut language, and it was founded in 124 AB. It wasn’t always known as the connecting city though. That nickname didn’t come until the introduction of air domes.

General Information

Important Buildings and Areas
These are just some of the places I feel that you should know about. Other locations are up to you, but try to keep it true to the setting of PE.

Mainland Gate
This gate opens up to a path leading up to the coast just south of Limera. The floor is made of stone, but the tunnel is made of magic supported by the mages of the nation’s military. There are some stationed everywhere in the nation. They have shifts so the mages don’t tired themselves.

It’s just a large pair of wooden squares.

Undersea Highway Gate
This gate, which looks the same as the Mainland Gate, leads to another path but no stairs. The path leads to other underwater cities.

[Minor Summary: This is a village underwater that built a greenhouse after the air domes were implanted. They grow herbs for medicine there.]

Ziqin Izu
Ziqin Izu, translated to mean “Gentle Touch” in the old and dead Aquanaut language, is a village that is known for the herbs it grows. It was established around 1372 PI, and many healers used to learn practices though the practices are not obsolete. The herbs are mainly used for medicine and though they could grow other things, medicine is more important. Life is centered on the greenhouse here, which was added in after the introduction of air domes. How it works, well, it’s all magic. Most of the villagers take care of the greenhouse, if they need anything; they travel to neighboring towns or cities for that.

Most people from here now learn to be gardeners, and if they wish to learn something else, they venture outside. A popular career for children from this village is to be healer though. Some work with magic and some work with herbs while some may work with both. It depends on their preference.

General Information

[Minor Summary: The place is almost like a city itself... A city with a lot of restrictions. There's the School of Academics, the School of Melee, the School of Black Magic, and the School of White & Time Magic.]

University of Poseidon
The University of Poseidon is where one starts to become a member of Poseidon Empires’ military, which is why it is in this section. It was founded on June 30, 841 AB by Hwe Tian under the name Dayidane Tiany or University of Tian. Originally, military and magic training was the main purpose of the institution, but it become less strict when Hae Tian became the Tuyan Pausu. On April 11, 1378 AB, he changed the name to the University of Poseidon and made it an important academic institution as well. For a place of learning, it may still be considered very strict, but compared to the past; it is much more like a university now. Students actually have a say in their education. The Dayidahinu is in charge of it, and he or she is selected by the current ruler with approval from the Qpyusa.

For more information about the university, refer to the guide, there’s a whole section just for it.

Information about uniforms can be found under Fashion in Section 2.3.

General Information
Dayidahinu: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Dayidahinu (Headmaster/Headmistress) in general terms…
Security: 10 Captain, 20 Lieutenants, a few Sergeants, and many Guards from the nation’s military
Population: 2 million; primarily Aquanauts
Technological Sphere: Developing – All the roads are paved and there is running water on the first floors for all homes, but not much else. There is no electricity or heat system; Aquanauts have no real need for either. If someone wants to cook, they use fire. There are no factories and people walk for the most part, though some might have carts that they pull themselves. Magic does play a strong role.

Every building has a tapestry that basically says the building’s name within a woven pattern. These tapestries are large and hang in an obvious place at a high altitude. Due to a lack of wind, they don’t flutter and there’s no worry of them being lost. Other things could happen to them, like something stealing it, but that’s no easy task. It is a crime to steal these things.

Unlike other tapestries, the design is all the same except the names and the schools have different colors.

Streets
[I’ll think of this later].

Architecture & Layout
The basic layout of the university is a triangle, a very big triangle. It looks a lot different from other locations because the buildings are not as tall. At best, they may have six floors. They style of the buildings remain the same as other Aquanaut buildings though, I don’t think I need to repeat myself.

It is surrounded by a wall with three gates at every corner.

Important Buildings and Areas
These are just some of the places I feel that you should know about. Other locations are up to you, but try to keep it true to the setting of the university.

[bNorthern Gate & Tower
There is not much to say about the Northern Gate.

Western Gate & Tower – Main Gate
This is a lot like the Arina’s gates except they are much stricter on who enters and who leaves. Unless you have business in the university, you must go around. The Western Gate is considered the main gate.

Southern Gate & Tower
There is not much to say about the Southern Gate.

University Center
This is just the center of the school campus, where students gather for major events or just for a place to hang out. Only thing here is a statue of Poseidon. It looks a lot like the Arina Center but no pool.

Administration Building
It is located on the western part of the campus. If you wish to know about the administration itself, that is explained in the guide at the end of Section 4.1.

As for the building, well, all the officials work and live here. There are six floors total. The private quarters, baths, lounge, and dining area is on the top floor. The fifth floor is for records. The fourth floor is for offices and meeting rooms. The third floor is for storage. The second floor is for presentation rooms. The bottom floor is where most of the checks, fees, registration, and all that business take place.

Male Dormitories
The male dorms are located on the north side of the campus and all students get a single room with a single bed, a desk, a chair, and spot to store their clothes and belongings. The rooms are not very big but good enough for a student. There are two large baths on the bottom floor, and the bottom floor also has a lounge area. The baths are large, round, waist high pools with a few steps leading down and other things. Curfew checks are performed by professors or administration workers. Usually at least one authority figure has night duty.

Female Dormitories
The female dorms are just like the males dorms except they are located on the south side of campus.

Cafeteria
The cafeteria is a two story building on the northern side of campus near the male dorms. There is limited seating even with two floors so it is often packed if you don’t hurry. The kitchen is on the first floor and there are long tables and benches on the second and first floors.

School of Academics – “The Fourth School”
The School of Academics takes up about the same amount of space as the cafeteria, only it’s on the southern side of campus near the female dorms and it is six stories tall. The first floor is where the professors’ offices and private quarters are located. The majority of the professors’ desks are all in one room except for the Head Professor. The Vice Head’s desk is separated from the others, but is the same size and appearance. Their quarters are small, single rooms. They use the same baths as the students but at different times. Most professors have outside homes or a room at their parents’ or relatives’ home. The second floor is for writing and language classes. The third floor is for math classes. The fourth floor is for social science classes. The fifth floor is for science classes. The sixth floor is for storage.

The tapestry and school’s main color is black.

Due to it being the newest and the smallest, jokes are often made by the students.

School of Melee – “The Burgundy School”
The School of Melee is located west of the University Center and east of the administration building. It is one of the larger buildings and it has six floors. The first floor is for the professors’ offices and private quarters. It is the same as the other schools only it has more rooms and space than the School of Academics. The second floor is like a gym. The third floor is for specialized close range classes. The fourth floor is for specialized long range classes. The fifth floor is for mixed classes. The sixth floor is for storage.

The tapestry and school’s main color is burgundy.

School of Black Magic – “The Navy School”
The School of Black Magic is located north of the University Center and south of the male dorms and cafeteria. It is the same size as the School of Melee and also has six floors. The first floor is for the professors’ offices and private quarters. The second floor is for water element classes. The third floor is for weather magic classes. The fourth floor is for fire element classes. The fifth floor is for other areas of black magic classes, as earth element classes are frequently held outside. The sixth floor is for storage.

The tapestry and school’s main color is navy.

School of White & Time Magic – “The Emerald School”
The School of White & Time Magic is located south of the University Center and north of the female dorms and School of Academics. It is the same size as the School of Melee and the School of Black Magic and also has six floors. However, the first floor is like a hospital area. . The second floor is for the professors’ offices and private quarters. The third floor is for healing and curative classes. The fourth floor is for other aspects of white magic classes. The fifth floor is for time magic classes. The sixth floor is for storage.

The tapestry and school’s main color is emerald.

[Minor Summary: There are no visitors allowed. If you are here, you are either guarding it, attacking it, or got in some serious trouble. There is no air dome here, but there is air in individual cells and the toilets.]

Submerged Prison
Submerged Prison was founded around 1204 PI, with construction starting just a few days after the palace’s construction. It is the only known place without an air dome, since many do not know of the Caverns of Maura.

No visitors allowed.

Prisoners are kept apart; eating is done in the cell. Bathroom breaks only always one person to go at a time and always with an escort through a air-filled hall. The trips to the bathroom are the only times prisoners really get to stretch their legs. Bathroom breaks are not for bathing, they never get time for that.

General Information
Daiidahinu: None – The Tuyan and the Military watch over it.
Security: 10 Captain, 20 Lieutenants, a few Sergeants, and many Guards from the nation’s military
Population: ???; primarily prisoners
Technological Sphere: Progressive – The building lacks an air dome, but there’s no water inside the individual cells for every prisoner other than when some fresh water is provided for them to drink. This is so it’s not easy for prisoners to escape, no matter what their race.

Furniture in this building is primarily made of a thick, teal gray stone, like all Aquanaut furniture tends to be. The beds are strong and have thin fabric sacks filled with sand usually. Pillows and blankets tend to be just like human furniture, only of the poorer quality here. Clothes are normally of the low class Aquanaut style; please refer to the guide for more information.

Architecture & Layout
It’s a giant cylinder building with a domed roof that is smooth and slippery. There are no windows and only one entrance. The entrance is heavily blocked by people, magic, and stone. Behind all that is a wooden double door. The cells are small, almost like a closet. Only the guards have decent rooms and baths.

[Minor Summary: This is basically Maura's temple, converted from some ordinary caverns in the ocean. It has been enchanted to move and never stays in the appears in the same spot for many years.]

Caverns of Maura
Caverns of Maura is not a city or anything, they are enchanted caverns that move whenever Maura’s Followers are done with it. It rarely ever appears in the same location twice and when it moves, it moves far away from the previous location.

Followers of Maura learn of the new location through clues in their dreams. It is the Qeuideu’s job to make sure no one unwanted gets in.

General Information
Qeuideu: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Qeuideu in general terms…
Security: There isn’t any security, but it doesn’t stay in the same location for long…
Population: 1; the Qeuideu can never leave the Caverns of Maura
Technological Sphere: Magicial – The place lacks an air dome and is heavily supported by magic.

Furniture in this area is primarily made of a thick, teal gray stone, like all Aquanaut furniture tends to be. The beds are strong and have thin fabric sacks filled with sand usually. Pillows and blankets tend to be just like human furniture. Clothes are normally of the Aquanaut style; please refer to the guide for more information.

Layout
[I'm still deciding this.]

Rooms
The Caverns of Maura have 3 main rooms and many hallways.

Offering Room
The Offering Room has a small statue of Maura in it and is where the offering ceremonies are held on the 9th of November by the Ise Vydeawideu with assistance from the Hwe Vydeawideu.

Ceremony Room
The Ceremony Room is the largest room and has a large statue of Maura in it. The Hae Vydeawideu leads the prayer ceremonies here, which only take place in the evenings to the early mornings.

Qeuideu’s Quarters
This is where the Qeuideu resides and is the smallest room. There is also another room for the bathing area and such. How he or she decorates is up to him and in a way, Maura.

Mainland Cities & Locations
These are all of the mainland cities and locations. There are 10 cities and villages, and 9 of them are on the coast.

[Location: Hilan]
[Minor Summary: A mainland village of Aquanauts founded by a man named Hilan. He built the largest shrine to Demitrius right next to it.]

Hilan
Hilan, means “Clarity” in the old Aquanaut language, was founded by a man named Hilan on May 1, 1231 AB. He is the most famous follower of Demitrius, and even built a large shrine dedicated to the god right next to the village. Because that, it’s rather well known.

Hilan is also the first Aquanaut mainland village to be established. It is located on the coast like every other village.

General Information
Daiidahinu: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Daiidahinu in general terms…
Security: Villagers take turns
Population: About 40; primarily Aquanauts
Technological Sphere: Developing – All the roads are paved and there is running water on the first floors for all homes, but not much else. There is no electricity or heat system; Aquanauts have no real need for either. If someone wants to cook, they use fire. There are no factories and people walk for the most part, though some might have carts that they pull themselves. Magic plays some role here.

It is a crime to steal these things.

Streets
None as the village is too small and doesn’t need street names.

Architecture & Layout
The buildings are one or two stories tall and made out of a teal gray stone. Just like all Aquanaut buildings, designs carved into them or desired pieces are carved out of them. The roofs are typically smooth domes and very easy to slip off of. The windows may be circles, ovals, rectangles, or diamonds holes with no glass. Wooden shudders were most likely added though. The doorways are rectangular with a semi-circle on top, and doors are made of wood. Furniture is made out of the same material and they fill they cushions and mattresses with sand just like all other Aquanauts. Pillows and blankets are like the ones humans use though.

Important Area

House of Hilan
The only abandoned house in the village because it’s considered a sacred site. People do take care of it, but due to the lack of lighting, it can look rather creepy. It is a small place since Hilan had lived by himself and never got married or anything. There is only one room where he slept, ate, bathed, and did whatever else he needed to do.

It is a shaped like a cylinder with a domed roof. Much like the shrine, the roof is not smooth here, but had patterns cut into it. The holes are only large enough for mice and small birds and creatures to get through. This house does have a floor and windows though. The windows are round holes with no glass. The door is wooden and looks like every other door on a Aquanaut house.

[Minor Summary: A mainland town known as the pirate town. Many people don't like them unless they have a use for them. As for why they are left alone for the most part, well, read and find out.]

Kharik – The Pirate Town
Kharik is a known as a pirate town because it is full of and was founded by pirates around 771 AB. Their families live here too of course. They have a law structure of their own, but as long as they don’t cause too much trouble, the government leaves them alone. There is a sort of “you watch my back and I’ll watch yours” type of agreement. In the past, they did cause a lot of trouble for Limera’s merchants and thus, residents of Limera don’t like them that much. Veris authorities and wealthy residents sometimes ask them for favors, but most other cities and villages don’t like to get too involved with Kharik.

How they do their business, the nation tries to stay out of. If they do get in trouble with another nation, PE will hold no responsibility and allow the other nation to pursue them. Kharik priates though, try to not get their kind too involved in conflicts. If one crew got in trouble, that crew is on its own. That’s just how it works. Kharik is a resting stop, not a place for protection.

They easily hand over anyone wanted if the person actually committed the crime. However, they do not tolerate false accusations.

General Information
Mayor: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Mayor in general terms…
Security: Residents take care of that
Population: About 80; primarily Calaran Humans
Technological Sphere: Progressive – There are no factories but they do seem to make their own supplies… Carriages and carts are used frequently, but many walk on the unpaved roads. Most ships are still made of wood and rely on sails but a few are made of metal and run on steam. Every home has heat and running water, but not electricity. Oil lamps, candles, or magic provide the lighting usually.

Streets
There streets have no name here as it is really not that big.

Architecture & Layout
The building here are primarily made of wood or stone, and as far as houses go, they normally look pretty average but sturdy. It has square buildings with square windows, rectangular doors, and triangular roofs, and wooden furniture.

On the outside, looks like a regular town and small. But they also have an underground area as they live on a cliff. The underground has rooms and docks made in it. After Limera, it has the largest docks in PE.

Some Buildings and Areas
These are just some of the places I feel that you should know about. Other locations are up to you, but try to keep it true to the setting of Kharik.

Meeting Hall
A large one-room building in the underground where all the pirates can gather to meet and talk whatever they feel like talking about, though details are limited to private crew meetings. The mayor also makes announcements here.

Underground Docks
They are not hidden, just hard to see. Since the place is no longer secret (hasn’t been for years), ships come and go during the day or the night. They are large and can hold a good number of ships.

[Location: Limera]
[Minor Summary: The largest mainland city in Poseidon Empires and the first city founded by humans (Calaran) in Poseidon Empires. It is also a popular trading port and controls the entire Limera Bay.]

Limera - The Trading Port
Limera was the first city founded by humans in 751 AB and the largest city on the mainland of Poseidon Empires. It has grown into a large and well known trading port. Many businesses thrive here because of that and Limera is the first place most people would sea when traveling by boat. There are a lot of families and all sorts of business, most of them on the legal side. The crime rate is relatively low here, higher than most places in PE but much lower than Veris. Much like Arina, people are almost always moving about the city and at night too since it are relatively safe. There are some forms of entertainment here, all clean but nothing compared to Veris. It gets wilder even in Rila Etala sometimes.

The city is very crowded though; most don’t have their own homes unless they are rich. Many low class families live in apartments, some of which aren’t that nice. It can be agreed that they are still much better than the slums in Veris though.

There are carriage services for people who don’t wish to walk far and fare is not too bad, though it can add up. These services don’t run after 8 PM however.

Limera is also has a guild system here, which is partially for fun and also how it collects money to give to the nation’s ruler.

Limera’s relationship with Veris is a decent one as sometimes merchants choose to send their items via airship or sometimes sending stuff by ship is just not a good idea. Cars with merchandise often go back and forth between them; the cars are also bought from Veris.

General Information
Mayor: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Mayor in general terms…
Security: 10 Captain, 20 Lieutenants, a few Sergeants, and many Guards from the nation’s military
Population: 1 million; primarily Calaran Humans
Technological Sphere: Progressive – There are some factories and cars, but carriages and carts are still the popular choice for most local citizens. Most ships are still made of wood and rely on sails but a few are made of metal and run on steam. Every home has heat and running water, but not electricity. Oil lamps, candles, or magic provide the lighting usually.

Streets
Main Street – East to West through the middle of Limera
Fortune Street – North to South though the middle of Limera

Factory Lane – East to West on the north side of Limera
Harbor Street – North to South on the west side of Limera
Guild Avenue – East to West on the south side of Limera
Callaway Lane – North to South on the east side of Limera

[I’ll name the others some other time.]

Architecture & Layout
The buildings here vary in size but are generally quite tall, not as tall as Aquanaut buildings though. Of course, they are much wider usually. The style of the buildings varies greatly as they were inspired from various human cultures since the Calaran are a mix of other human races. One thing for sure though, there buildings are usually more complex than the ones in the villages and none of them are made out of only plants. Almost all the buildings have more than one story and are quite close to each other except for where the streets are. Most of the streets are small, but some are large enough for two carriages to pass though side-by-side.

[Layout is I’m still working on. It will be clear up with a map.]

Industrial District – Located on the north side of Limera

Harbor District – Located on the west side of Limera
This is also where the ship factories are, near the Industrial District but still technically in the Harbor District.

Guild District – Located on the south side of Limera

Commercial District – Located around the center area and in front of the East Gate of Limera
The Commercial District covers most of where Main Street passes through and part of Fortune Street.

This is where all the shops, inns, restaurants, and any other business are located. The mayor’s office is also located in the commercial district, near the high class residences.

Residential District – Located around the Commercial District, west of the Harbor District, south of the Industrial District, and north of the Guild District.

High class residents tend to live on the south side near the Guild District while the low class residents live on the north side near the factories. Middle Class Residents tend to live on the east side.

Some Buildings and Areas
These are just some of the places I feel that you should know about. Other locations are up to you, but try to keep it true to the setting of Limera.

Eastern Gate & Tower – Main Gate
The Eastern Gate opens up directly to Main Street and is the most frequently used gate in Limera. People may come and go and they please as checks are only perform if there is a alert.

Southern Gate & Tower
The Southern Gate opens up directly to Fortune Street and is used by many, but mostly by those delivering shipments from Veris.

Town Square
This is where Main Street and Fortune Street meet, and other than the pretty plants and wooden benches, there’s isn’t much here. People pass through all the time, so gather around and talk. It has the largest amount of free space in Limera, which is very refreshing after traveling through the crowded city. People often like to set something up here around noon though. Some sell things while others perform in hopes of receiving money. Beware of swindlers however.

The paved floor uses different stones and looks prettier than the streets.

Limera Hospital
The Limera Hospital is located in the Commercial District near the center of the city and the high class residences. They offer their service to anyone in need, but have high fees. If someone really needs care, they will accept the money later… It will put the family in great debt though.

There are smaller and cheaper doctors around, though not all are that trustworthy.

Limera Academy
The Limera Academy is also in the Commercial District, but it is located close to both the middle class and high class residences. Tuition is high and the academy is only for pre-university level education. Graduating students tend to go elsewhere to continue their education such as to Serdio or even the University of Poseidon.

Potential students can enter as early as the age of 6. If they do, they normally graduate by the age of 18.

There are dorms for girls and forms for boys provided for students not from Limera.

Limera Hotel
The Limera Hotel is located next to the town square at the corner of Main Street and Fortune Street. It is a pricey place to stay, but has the best location and good quality service.

Mercuria Inn
The Mercuria Inn is located next to the harbor is about just as big as the Limera Hotel, and has more rooms. The rooms are smaller but also cheaper. The quality here is average, middle class if you were to rank it. It is on Main Street and across from the Liquor Cove tavern.

The Liquor Cove – Tavern
The Liquor Cove is a popular tavern for fisherman and sailors because it’s right next to the harbor. It is also across the street from an inn, which is where they would stay if they don’t think they can get home before tiring out. The place only has two stories and is quite wide. The top floor is the owner’s private home. The tavern only serves alcohol and some side dishes. A person can ask for water and coffee too, but if they wish for anything else, they have to go somewhere else.

Guild Administration of Limera
The GAL is the organization that manages the guilds formed in Limera. They work for the Mayor and are in charge of making sure these guilds are made for an acceptable purpose such as improving relationships among merchants in hopes to increase profits and reduce feuds. They rent out spaces for guilds to meet or hold events. Due to the crowdedness of Limera, this is very useful. The GAL also hosts events themselves that provides rewards for those helping others with a small participation fee. They also give out fines.

It is the large building in the southeast corner of Limera in the Guild District.

Other locations – Use your imagination, I’ve provided enough examples to give you an idea of what places are like in Limera.

[Location: Veris]
[Minor Summary: The second largest mainland city, and it's know for two things. The first is that at the top of the tower is where airships land. The second is that this where the casinos, black market, and various other things of interest. They also have the largest slum sector, but that's normally hidden from view. It is not a very safe place but a popular place nonetheless.]

Veris – The Sky Tower City
Veris started off a simply an air station for airships to stop at, but as time with on, it grew into a city around 1691 AB. Unlike other city, Veris is confined to a tower structure and moves up. It looks like one giant, metal building with lights from the outside, and it has a total of 20 floors with varying heights.

Veris is the only mainland location that is not on the coast. It is located right next to the Esteria Mountains.

Some Aquanauts, having a dislike for all that Veris is, find it an eyesore. However, it’s been alone due to its use and how much revenue it collects. Since the government wants as little as possible to do with it, this is also where the local Black Market thrives. It helps that it’s easy to come and go from Veris, and all sorts of items sent by airship travel through it before reaching Limera.

Veris is also known for its casinos, theaters, and night life entertainment. People who live here are either very rich or very poor, nothing in between. As a place to live, Veris is horrible, has the largest slum population that are worst off than the low class living in Arina. Though, a rich person living in Veris probably has a large home on a high floor and very expensive furniture.

Crime is high in Veris so you decide to spend the night at an inn, please make sure it’s a safe place first.

Any cars in Poseidon Empires were manufacture in a factory at Veris, located on the ground floor outside of the city but still within the city limits.

General Information
Mayor: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Mayor in general terms…
Security: Whoever the mayors hires, can be a shady bunch or a nice one.
Population: 5 thousand; primarily Calaran Humans
Technological Sphere: Progressive – There are some factories and cars on the ground floor, but in Veris most people walk due to the tight space. Veris does have manually powered lifts though, which also happens to be one of the worst jobs a person can have in Veris. Most airships are still made of wood and rely on sails but a few are made of metal and run on steam. Every home has heat and running water and some electricity. Veris is the most technology advance city in Poseidon Empires.

Most of the lights are lit manually, an unfortunate task for the workers, but still much better than the lift operators.

Architecture & Layout
Veris is a basically a giant cylinder, even the roof is flat as it is used as an extra landing spot. Although the diameter is not the same for the entire tower because the ground floor has a very wide diameter and the next five floors have the second widest diameter. Starting with the 7th, the tower’s diameter remains the same all the way to the top.

Veris is made of primarily of metal and partially of wood with some stone materials used on the ground floor. It is quite stable and is often being improved.

There are large, square, glass windows starting at the seven floor and end at the fifteen floor since the sixteen floor has this large openings instead. The ground floor also has some windows and large gates.

To enter the tower, once must go through a nicer, smaller, pair of doors in the center of the tower that faces the west. Once inside, people can walk up the long set of stairs or take the manually operated lift, which is quicker but not 100% safe as a people in charge of it could tire out and let go. Of course, if they do, they most likely won’t live to see the next day…

There’s another way to enter and leave the tower, but only residents of the slum sector use that. It leads to the back of the tower, and faces east. The door is made of metal and matches the tower, although the outline and hinges still make it obvious that it’s a door. There is no handle though so it can only be opened from the inside. There is how the poor workers empty the trash and such without being seen. The factory also helps block people from seeing what goes on in the back.

The back door leads straight to the second floor where the Slum Sector starts. Anyone in the slums can leave anytime, and if the Veris authorities don’t want someone to leave, they don’t let them near the slums or the front door.

At every floor except the where the Slums are, there’s a place for the lift to rest, but things have to be moved and if the people on the higher floors are not at their post or just not paying attention, lives will be lost.

On the inside, there is another wall going all the way up to the fifteenth floor of the tower. These walls looks just like the other wall with windows in the very small location except the Slum Sector has some windows here too. The Slum Sector is the only sector with a closed and locked door, which people will only see if they take the stairs. There are always a couple of people in front of it to prevent the curious from peeking. These people are hired by the mayor and are not usually the apart of the not-so-nice crowd.

Doors are made of wood or metal, except in the slums, they make use of whatever they have so even cloth or paper wounds up where a door should be. Buildings in Veris are either made of wood or made of metal. If they are made of wood, they actually like like buildings that can be found in Limera, but if they are made of metal, the floor is simply being divided by an okay looking set of walls. Thus, the metal ones appear to have no roof, and can look rather intimidating. That’s why the Administration Sector is designed like that.

The slum sectors have no buildings except for the self constructed ones by those that feel that every person should have a home. The slum sectors started off as a storage sector so it was just floors that consisted of one giant empty room. After more manual laborers were hired, it gradually became the slum sector. Since they are inside a tower, they don’t really need to worry about shelter. They do need to worry about bathing, cooking, and keeping warm though.

Residents of the slum sector are not allowed to use the front door, only the back door.

Sectors
Veris’s streets don’t have any names, so I made this a section for its sectors which are much like Limera’s districts.

Factory Sector – Ground Floor
This is where the factory is, and the only factory in Veris as they get other supplies from passing merchants or from Limera. The factory here is for car development and airship development.

This sector is the widest as it is the base and very tall so that even a airship can be store there for awhile.

Slum Sector – 2nd Floor to 6th Floor
This is one of the wider sectors in Veris and the most crowded, but they have the lowest ceilings. A tall adult can still walk through just fine, but they can’t raise their arm very high. Visitors are escorted pass the slums completely, and with so few windows, they hardly can even catch a glimpse.

Life Sector – 7th Floor to 13th Floor
This is where all the fun and entertainment is, and where the tower begins to narrow. The 7th floor is for rest and relaxation businesses. The 8th floor is for businesses involving gambling. The 9th floor is for businesses focused on dining and drinking. The 10th floor is for dancing and music. The 11th floor is for stage shows of all sorts. The 12th floor is for shopping. The 13th floor is supposedly under repair…

Residential Sector – 14th Floor
This is where all the nice homes are, and there are very few so only one floor is necessary.

Administration Sector – 15th Floor
The Veris Business Administration as well as the mayor’s office is located here. There is nothing else here to see as the floor is dominated with these two structures.

Veris Air Station – 16th to 20th Floor
This is where the airships dock and unload their packages and passengers. If they need repairs, that can be done here too. Airships can also land on the roof is there’s no room in any of the four floors. The ceilings are very high on these floors and there are huge gaps in the walls to allow an airship in.

A lack of rails makes it very dangerous to stand too close to the edge. There are rails on the roof though.

Some Buildings and Areas
These are just some of the places I feel that you should know about. Other locations are up to you, but try to keep it true to the setting of Veris.

Veris Business Administration
Veris is primarily a place for business of various sorts, and not just the air station. The VBA was founded to key an eye on all of them, although the VBA is not completely a legit organization itself. The Black Market thrives in Veris due to many deals made under the table. Some of its businesses are not so appropriate either…

Black Market
In case you didn’t guess, the Black Market operates primarily on the 13th floor at certain hours on certain days. When that is, well, it all depends on those involved since there seems to be no real pattern. They also may meet on other floors but in much smaller gatherings.

Veris Car & Airship Factory
They don’t make many cars and don’t make many airships either since there isn’t that high of a demand for them right now. Limera is too crowded for cars and no one else in the nation wants them while few know how to pilot an airship. Most of the work done here is actually for improvements on the existing cars and airships they have. They also handle repairs on cars. Repairs on airships are taken care of at the Air Station.

The Slums
The main reason the Veris authorities don’t do much to improve the slums is because they allow the people living there to leave anytime. Thus, there logic is, if they don’t leave, then they are fine where they are as they are. I’ve already describe the slums in the architecture and in the sector sections.

Sky Theater
The Sky Theater is one of the most popular theaters in Veris, and happens to be owned by mayor. Most people don’t know that for sure although there are rumors about it. It was the first of the three to bear the Sky business name in Veris. It has no association with any outside business bearing the same or a similar name. It is one of the larger theaters too.

Sky Casino
The Sky Casino is just like the Sky Theater, and was the second one of the three. It is not the largest casino but still a popular place…

Sky Hotel & Bar
This one is the last of the three, and is not that big. It wasn’t meant to be though. It’s more of a place for small groups…

Other locations – Use your imagination, I’ve provided enough examples to give you an idea of what places are like in Veris.

[Minor Summary: It is one of the smaller mainland villages. All of them were founded by Calaran humans except for Izuha, which is another Aquanaut mainland village.]

The Remaining Six Coastal Villages
Akanre, Izuha, Matolle, Primm, Rayut, and Saffile

General Information
Security: Villagers take turns
Technological Sphere: Developing – The roads are dirt paths, cars are not necessary due to there is not much traveling to be done within the village, and there is no indoor plumbing, heat, or electricity. There are no factories and the people here are primarily fisherman, a few are merchants, and one or two may take up a job they feel would be very helpful to their village. The families tend to be big so that some children can stay behind to continue the family trade or leave in pursuits of a different future.

Like most of the mainland, magic has little to no role in these villages and that includes Izuha.

Furniture is primarily wooden except for Izuha, which has stone furniture.

Izuha’s buildings have unique tapestries that basically say their business’s name or name of the owner within a woven pattern. Shrines have them too, except their tapestries have the name of the god the shrine is for. These tapestries are large and hang in a obvious place at a high altitude. It is a crime to steal these things.

Streets
The streets have no names due to how small the villages are.

Architecture & Layout
The houses in these villages are usually simple cubes with triangular roofs, but some may be longer or look more like two blocks stuck together and so on. The materials used can be either wood or stone or even planted bounded tightly together. A person chooses to make his or her home however they wish so what they use is up to them and if they can actually get their hands on it. The windows are square or rectangular, no glass. The doorways are rectangular with wooden doors. The exception is Izuha, which has Aquanaut style buildings only the buildings just like the ones in Hilan. Nothing in these villages is really that fancy, at middle class level at best.

All villages have one dock.

Akanre
Matolle was founded around 961 AB.

Mayor: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Mayor in general terms…

[Minor Summary: The largest shrine to any god and located on the mainland right next to the village of Hilan. It lacks a floor and has designed holes in the roof to let rain in. There is a gallery here with paintings done by Hilan depicting how Demitrius came to be.]

Hilan’s Shrine of Demitrius
This Shrine of Demitirus is the largest shrine to any god in Poseidon Empires, but definitely smaller than the temples in Ave Fune. It was founded by a Aquanaut man named Hilan around the same time he founded his village on May 1, 1231. It is located right next to Hilan, the village.

General Information
Ise Deawideu: [Position Open] – for now, speak of the Ise Deawideu in general terms…
Hwe Deawideu: [Position Open] – Assists the ID in taking care of the shrine
Hae Deawideu: [Position Open] – Holds ceremonies on the 1st and 7th days in the month
Jwe Deawideu: [2 Positions Open] – Can be more than one, holds everyday ceremonies (excluding the 1st, 7th, and 9th days of a month).
Security: Hilan Villagers take turns guarding the shrine
Population: 4 or 5; all followers of Demitrius
Technological Sphere: Developing – The roads are dirt paths and there is no indoor plumbing, heat, or electricity. Tending to plants and themselves are done manually by the Followers of Demitrius that reside here. If they have families, they live in the neighboring village, Hilan, as only those with a task in the shrine may live here. Magic does play some role…

Architecture & Layout
The shrine stays true to the Aquanaut style in materials and carving designs, however, the architectural style is a bit different. Most of the building is basically a long rectangle with a circle attached to it at the end. The roof over the rectangular area is curved like a semi-circle while the roof over the circle area is a dome. The roofs are not solid however; there are patterns and designs cut into them, allowing rain and light to easily enter. Anything larger than a mouse or small bird can’t though. This is because the shrine doesn’t have a floor, allowing grass and whatever wildlife to grow in the shrine. Only the edges have the building has any shade, and this is where the followers have their rooms and baths. This also allows the paintings place along the walls to remain unharmed. If weather conditions ever get too troublesome, magic is used to protect the shrine.

There are no windows here.

The shrine also has a large wooden, double door at the entrance. It didn’t always have one, but with the popularity of the paintings, it became a necessity.

Areas of Hilan’s Shrine of Demitrius
The ground and natural floor is also known as the Garden of Demitrius.

Path of Rilan
This is the name of the rectangular hallway where most of the paintings are. It bears the same name as the story to go along with the paintings. The story was written by a woman named Verurila while the paintings were done by Hilan, the founder of the Shrine.

Statue of Demitrius
The statue is located in the center of the domed room at the end of the hall, and here, the walls are bare save for the carved patterns in the walls. The statue sits in a pool, but there is a path leading up to it. It has its right arm raised up to the sky and the other aimed downward, touching the pool. In the pool are some fish and other animals like turtles and frogs.

Followers’ Quarters and Baths
On the sides of the domed room, there are rooms that are used for the follower quarters. Each room has a smaller room for a bath. They are only big enough for the bare necessities, and there are five room total.

Storage Room
The storage room is near the back of the building, and is for extra blankets, garden supplies, and whatever else the resident Followers may need. Records and things like that are kept in the Ise Deawideu’s room.

Natural Areas

Limera River
The Limera River flows through the Esteria Mountains and into the Limera Bay on the northern end of the Poseidon Empires Mainland. It passes through the city of Limera. It is the main natural fresh water supply for the entire nation, though Aquanauts personally have no need for it. That is a good thing though because that means the Calaran humans don’t have to worry about them. It is dangerous near the mountains but near the bay, nothing to fear unless you can’t swim. There are fresh water fish here and various other creatures as well. Some like to gather here for a drink, but since humans use it so much, most stay away except during the late evenings.

Limera Bay
The Limera Bay is surrounded by Limera. This area has the most docks and boats of all the mainland locations. There’s not much fish here, as they have learned to stay away, but crabs and such tend to be around. It is not safe to swim here with all the boats and boats are almost always moving in and out. The bay does have a gate with guards and a wall with towers between it and the ocean. Mainly, the gate is only closed during times of crisis. Normally, it is open to whoever may have a ship. It may be closed to large fleets.

Esteria Mountain Range
The Esteria Mountains is a very tall mountain range dividing the mainland of PE from the rest of the Erindin continent. It is almost impossible to climb, and few dare venture over it. Right next to the mountains though is Veris, somewhere in the middle of the PE’s mainland.

Southern Stream
The Southern Steam flows from the Southern Pool into the ocean west of the mainland. It is named after its location, on the southern end of the mainland. There are smaller fish here than compared to the Limera River and is a fresh water source for the Calaran villages. Any animals only come at night.

Southern Pool
The Southern Pool is much like the Southern in location and aquatic life. Villagers from the nearby villages frequently come by, but rarely animals.
