Name: Jovan Weaver - Nick Name: Jazz Age: 13 Birthday: January 1st Race: Human Sex: Male Occupation:Thief Job Class: Theif Appearance: Jazz has pale brown hair and dusty green eyes, and he wears a scarlet tunic that is to big for him (he stole it), and a loose leather belt. Jazz is lithe and slender sometimes to the point of being skinny, because sometimes he can't manage to steal enough food. Jazz has a mischevious, sometimes winning smile, but spends more time glaring. Tucked into his belt he always carries a double bladed dagger, with one straight blade and one curved blade. The curved blade is mostly for show, bu it's useful for picking locks. Likes, Dislikes, Fears Hobbies, and Aspirations: - Likes: Busy streets, companions(although he tries to not let anyone know), magic tricks - Dislikes: Police, empty alleyways, especially in the snow - Fears: Being alone, dogs - Hobbies:Practice doing tricks with his daggers, spy on his family, steal, sometimes get into street fights - Aspirations: Return to his family someday, or leave Esto Gaza and find another place to live where he can have his own family Personality: Jazz tries hard to appear tough. He doesn't trust easily, and so he usually avoids friendships and companions of any sorts, even thought he is terrified of being alone, with no home to return to. Things he can't do well he tries to shove aside and make them seem small, like magic. In reality he is fascinated by it, but puts on an outward face of contempt, claiming that magic is "cheating" and "The easy way out". Jazz is quick to anger, and as a result this lands him often the middle of street fights. He goes out of his way to find out what annoys someone, and then does it. Since Jazz has been in many situations where he has been tricked and betrayed, the more kind someone is towards him, the less he trusts them. Jazz hates feeling less powerful than others and having to obey them, and sometime will refuse to do thing seven out of common sense, like "sit down and eat". Jazz is stubborn and headstrong, and tends to think more about himself than of others. He doesn't deal well with responsibility, and will not hesitate to put strangers in danger to save himself. Things are different with people he knows well. Much as Jazz hates to admit it, he's lonely and values companionship. Mostly, it is this lonleiness that makes him so bitter. History: Jazz was born in the slums of Esto Gaza, the youngest of his seven siblings. His family was loving and kind, but poor and his parents spent most of their time working. Unable to afford school, the children were left to fend for themselves. One by one, Jazz, at the moment still calling himself Jovan, watched his siblings grow up and get jobs. Eventually, Jazz was the last one without a way to support his family. In his free time, Jazz taught himself to steal and proved himself quite good at it, but he didn't want to become a criminal while still with his family. More and more, Jazz felt himself a burden to the family. Finally , Jazz left, the day before his birthday. Burdened with guilt, Jazz returned to watch his family from afar, but never revealed himself to them. It was then that he began to call himself Jazz, not wanting his family to be blamed for his life as a criminal. He hasn't given his true name to anyone since then, and has been to jail thrice, and escaped every time. Jazz is proud of this fact, but doesn't tell anyone because he is afraid he won't get away next time. Jazz met Oz when Oz accused him of setting his neighbor's house on fire. Reluctant travel companions, the two had many adventures together, searching for magical artifacts, though not of their own free will. The two eventually split apart after Jazz insulted Oz's special noodle recipe. |
