Name: Amon Singh Age: 24 Birthday: December 1st, 1735AB Race: Shiitan Sex: Male Occupation: Jester at the Confederation Court. Job Class: Fool but secretly a slave. Appearance: Amon is a sight for sore eyes and definitely one of the finer specimen of the Shiitan race. He’s tall, roughly around 6’1’ though not as broad in the shoulders as some men and particularly slim, or trim rather. He seems to have gone more of the wiry or elegant route rather than the bulky route. He has long arms and legs that make him look distinctly elegant for a man. It does help that he carries himself with all the grace of a dancer or an athlete, with very graceful and fluid motions at all times. He has decent muscle development, nothing bulky or pronounced but just accentuated from dance and acrobatics that he’s performed over the year. The muscle tone is also testament to his natural physical prowess as a Shii. He has elegant and long fingers which, despite his past life as a slave, are very straight and devoid of calluses. Nobles hands or a musician’s hands perhaps, definitely not the hands of a worker, that much is for sure. Aside from his natural grace and strength Amon has some other admirable features. In fact, quite the striking features they are. He has a very refined face, with high cheekbones that almost make him look noble, a straight nose and accentuated jaw line. He has shockingly light eyes, especially considering his rather dark complexion and black hair, the green eyes really stand out. Equally noticeable is his boyish grin, an almost impish trademark grin which will display his even teeth. He is usually clean shaven and his dark hair not allowed to grow beyond his jaw, though usually cropped shorter and either slicked back or left to hang in loose bangs framing his face. He has the typical dark tan of the Shiitan which is equally bronzed over most of his body, though his face and arms usually a little bit darker because they get the most exposure to the sun. True to tradition he has acquired a few tattoos over time. All of them tribal patterns, not the least of which is one on his face. The pattern begins just over his left eye, curling in dark brown swirls around the eye and dipping down across his cheekbone to his jaw line and a little further down to his neck. It is an intricate and almost delicate design, not as chunky as the other ones that adorn his body, only serving to add a little extra to his already striking appearance. The others are much less often seen in public. Two around his upper arms, one on each arm. These are almost identical and just a band of tribal symbols. A third one is on his left shoulder, similar to the one on his face but a bit more chunky and less refined, though it does look as if the point of the tattoo that ends on his neck is simply continued on his shoulder. Last but not least there is a last one on his lower abdomen, just below what the pants cover up, those are his oldest ones and the ones given to him by his mother when he was but a child. Amon knows he keeps good company and dressed accordingly, usually decked out in fairly nice fineries, though most often low budget, for he can’t afford all that much on his wages. The slacks are usually black, with black boots where as the shirts are much more colourful and playful, usually with wide sleeves to give the whole thinks a bit more flair and to accommodate for magic tricks. He will rarely be found wearing a jacket of any sort, only if he is going out for some reason will he wear one. When at work he is most usually found wearing a jingly hat, like a classic jester, when this is the case he also generally likes to wear masks reminiscent of carnival masks, which cover only his eyes. He has a wide variety of them and is rarely found to wear the same one twice in a row. Casual wear usually consists of a simple white dress shirt and again, black pants. Likes, Dislikes, Fears Hobbies, and Aspirations: - Likes: Magic tricks. Politics, making people laugh, fruits starting with P (Pomegranates and pears, mostly) Puppies, jingly hats, people and people with jingly hats, games or gambling. Music, playing and listening, poetry both reading and writing, song and dance and he adores the theatre. - Dislikes: Being left out, non-jingly hats, horses (filthy and dangerous animals), pain and disobedience. Bananas, caterpillars, being outsmarted by other people, losing if he had no intentions of throwing the game. Handling money, he is rubbish at it. - Fears: Caterpillars, death. Being discovered for what he truly is and also displeasing his masters. - Hobbies: Chess or cards (poker in particular) Drinking and socializing in general He would love to go to theater productions and operas daily but sadly can’t afford to go to them often, if at all. - Aspirations: To help in the elevation of his masters to their former glory and beyond, and the God’s willing, bring them up to imperial family or as close as he can get them. Personality: Amon is a friendly and cheerful man. Always letting his good moods blossom and flourish and never once seen frowning. He has a ‘look-at-me’ presence and attracts quite some attention to himself and quite willingly so but has the uncanny ability to blend into the background in the blink of an eye and remove himself completely from the spotlight. He is a charismatic person and can captivate anyone with his song, dance, poetry or simply his way of speaking about a certain subject. Amon can take any subject and turn it into the most wonderful thing on the planet. He can sell anything to anyone and has a way with words that one would not expect from a Shii. While a friendly and cheerful person to be around he has a wicked mind, sharp, cunning and manipulative. Skills he all uses to his advantage when the need calls for it. His has a strategist’s mind, and thinks one his feet, hardly ever lost for words or solutions. Nevertheless, while this makes him a little sinister, he never comes across as such, ever the charming persona and often playing himself up as being stupid, a right fool who knows nothing of these matters of great importance. Even though he is by no means young anymore, his mannerisms and behavior makes him seem a lot younger than he really is, this gives some people reason to doubt his skill as an entertainer but it usually doesn’t last long for he will talk to anyone about anything and entertain them before they know it. If it isn’t with his silver tongue or witticisms it is with his magic tricks. Sleight of hand, of which he insists the trick is that it isn’t. Amon is very passionate about his work and hardly ever stops doing what he does, even on his time off he often finds himself in very similar situations. He’s a very open man, or seems that way, and he has a penchant for people. He loves being around people, makes friends easily and gets along with almost anyone as long as he puts his mind to it. He knows how to pick his battles and is overall easy going and laid back, confident in himself and his abilities. He can have a bit of an ego on himself, but knows when to tone it down, he does spend a great deal of time around people with high-powered egos too and he knows when to back off. He is very good at reading people and knows when not to (and when to) push his boundaries. Rarely will he overstep his reach or go beyond what he should be, tip-toeing the line of danger but never crossing that very fine line. Because he is such an open and a real character people tend to find him easy to approach, easy to talk to and Amon happily encourages this trend. Not only because he loves the attention, also because knowledge is power, and this is something he knows very well. Amon is stickler for affection, even though he isn’t known to be a ladies’ man. He charms people in different ways, however a pat on the shoulder of a friendly hug can really brighten up Amon’s day, almost like a lonely puppy. History: Amon, being of two faces, has two separate story, the one he tells people and the one that is true. The one he tells people is fairly simple; he was born in Eden, just over the border of Vulcan where his parents led a distinctly simple life. His father was a blacksmith’s assistant and his mother a seamstress. He was supposed to follow in his father’s footsteps until a travelling bard saw potential in the boy. He was apprenticed to the bard and eventually found himself in the higher circles of society, gaining favor and fame wherever he went. At the age of nineteen he was then apprenticed off to a court’s fool to learn the tricks of the traits and from there it was all one big rise to the top of his career where he is now, brushing elbows with the crème de la crème of society. Of course he delivers this tale with enough flair, charm, detail and colour that no one has ever doubted his integrity on the issue. After all, why would a fool lie about something so trivial? The real story is a bit less rose coloured and a bit more sinister. Amon was born in Meria, but like his mother he was born a slave to the Princely House of Dai-Dame. As his mother was a house slave to the family, the boy had never even gotten a whiff of freedom, doomed to live the same life as his mother or father. Despite this his life was certainly not a bad one per se. He had food in his belly, a roof over his head and clothes on his back, which was all he could ask for, as his mother constantly told him and if he did quietly what he was told, he would not need to get punished. She encouraged him to be good and obedient, never to turn against the master so that one day perhaps he could start a family of his own with another slave girl should he find someone he liked. When the Dark Lord was entombed in ice the Pasvie were all cast out to the backwater province of Diao, including the House of Dai-Dame, Amon was taken along by them and they grudgingly took their leave. It did not sit well with the nobles and plans were always on the table to reclaim their positions of power, to reinstate the family to its former glory and more of such things. Amon had only barely learned to walk and talk at this point in time and thus was, happily oblivious. From a young age Amon was taught to be a good obedient little slave, to be quiet and polite, to be submissive and to blindly obey his masters, all of which he did, except for the quiet part. While Amon was ever so polite he showed, even at a young age, that he had a keen and perceptive mind. He had a flair for talking and was a genuine boy who enamored no few ladies of the family with his innocence and big doe eyes. He continued to be the charismatic little prattler that he was, learning of ways to get out from under chores by merely being cute and entertaining and soon enough the boy was taken from the work force of labor, scrubbing pots and sweeping decks to being a little entertainer. At a mere nine years old Amon was becoming quite the story teller, always keeping his ears open for gossip and stories that he could then tell on. Of course he learned from mistakes, finding out what topics were appropriate to tell tales of and what really wasn’t. He was clever enough to read the people he was entertaining. Amon was soon encouraged for his natural talents, told to learn how to sing and dance, taught to read so that he could recite poetry and stories with as much flair and charm as he told his own tales of wonder. Gradually he learned of the magic of poetry, satire and other such elusive things. Being but young and still somewhat naïve in his ways (although far from innocent from having heard all the gossip all these years) he was simply enraptured by the chances he was given, never once suspecting a hidden motive behind any of this. Of course the head of the family had plans for the young Shii, wanting to use him as a tool in his schemes, knowing the value of a good jester at courts, having someone in such a position would be invaluable to furthering the Dai-Dames ambitions! At the age of 17 Amon was being school in history and politics, it was then that he began to figure out there was more to all this free education than mere infatuation for him. He had been given a lot of freedom over the years, making him bold and forward thinking and much more liberated than a lot of the other slaves of the household. He held his tongue though, knowing better than to speak out of line like that. Though when he was finally enlightened as to the plans of all this he wasn’t too shocked. Sure, it was a great surprise they would vest so much trust in him, and that he would eventually be forced to move to the courts, but it was nothing but a great honour to young Amon. He doubled his efforts, learning as much as he could in the years that followed while the family pulled strings in secrecy to get him into the courts and appointed as a jester. With a double agenda that was big and filled with expectations Amon was eventually send on his way, appointed court jester from a ‘reliable’ source. His back story had been rehearsed, his wit sharpened and his last name changed to befit his new (if fake) status of a free Shii. At the young age of 23 he became the court jester in the central court of the confederation. The perfect spot to work his magic and weave his web. While he’s spend almost a good year doing nothing but entertaining innocently, with political overtones of all types and varieties, he is now comfortable and thinks he is well respected enough that he can begin his true work for his masters, that which they have been waiting for for so long. |
