Name: Weimar Nikolai von Engels Nicknames: Devil's Formulae, Nikolai, Marius, Eagle Age: 2500 Race: Dark Celestial/Cambion Occupation: Qin Nabe Appearance: Hair: Shoulder-length blonde. Eyes: Sky blue Build: Muscular, military. Height: 6'5" A- 1 B- 1 C- 1, 2 D- 1 E- 1 Personality: There is something decidedly different with Weimar from other Celestials (mixed blood aside). Although it is true that he is cold or even intimidating with his frowns or impassive face and reluctance to speak, he simply does not have that proud aristocratic air about him. In fact, he often seems to be able to melt into the shadows and go quite unnoticed. Even amongst friends he is probably the one people know the least about. Not that he isn't a very striking figure. It's simply he is a quiet and obedient person and far more disciplined than most teenagers. However, beyond that cold exterior is a man of great loyalty, honesty, and intelligence. Weimar doesn't make friends easily simply because he is afraid of any byword that may get him in trouble. Yet, he manages to make friends and those he does make friends with are often very strategic friends. Friends of power and discretion are the ones he makes and so that makes him quite influential behind the scenes. Yet, despite this influence one might consider very politician, Weimar is known to be an honest man. He rarely sees the need to lie and so he doesn't. Well, not directly anyway. He prefers to speak the truth and has the intelligence to be able to avoid disaster from speaking the complete truth with people as well. That or his silences or irritations are so well-timed that a lie isn't even needed to convince someone of something other than the truth. Often these sorts of indirect lies are to either protect himself or out of kindness for another person as Weimar truly does hate making enemies. Weimar is a known fan of chess and a very intelligent person. He likes strategies and he likes order. In order to establish a routine, he often makes sure that he is several steps ahead of everyone else so that there is no room for bewilderment. Well, in chess that works well, but not always in life. Because of his love for order or the power of command, he gets flustered easily when things don't go as planned. When it is unavoidable for him to face his mistakes, he turns a brilliant shade of red and starts speaking in rapid mixed tongues. That or he starts trembling out of nerves. Well, when he isn't angry or anyway. When hurt, Weimar has a tendency to become quite stone-like in demeanor. He prefers no weakness and that is how he copes with any exposed weakness: turn into solid stone emotionally. He will speak only when necessary and remain silent otherwise. He can do this as well when angered. Yet, there are times when he is so irritated or so angry that he will resort to violence and so he is known to get into fights several times of the year. Usually he gets into fights because whatever the wrong is a matter of pride and he is a very proud German. Not to mention a very stubborn one at that. Stubbornness is also a very visible part of Weimar. He does things his way and often refuses to do things anyone else's way unless he trusts that other person's judgement. This, though, isn't really a detriment when it comes to his daily routines as he sticks to them quite well and as a result, works every minute of his money's worth, to paraphrase a well-known saying. As a result, he is an admirable person overall, despite being a bit overshadowed by his peers or targeted for jokes simply for his often serious appearance. Weimar is a stiff individual at times, but sometimes he is rather open as well. At first glance he can seem a little aloof. However, once the initial pleasantries he is quite the talkative man. To people of status, he merely gives them the typical "poker face" and to strangers, he falls silent. To friends, he is a social butterfly and when flirting, he can be that as well. Weimar works hard for what he gets and what he wants. He doesn't believe in defeat in anything and will do what his instincts tell him first rather than thinking about it all too much. He is also a man than loves to help as well. If you have something you want fixed, he will fix it immediately. When alone, Weimar often finds a quiet spot and broods and if the occasion allows, he will curl up almost into a ball and start staring blankly at a wall--just to daydream. But there are times also where he just observes everyone quietly and perhaps approach a person or two if he was really bored. However, despite his helpfulness and even kindness, Weimar is a very impatient individual. When he gets apprehensive, he always feels like hurting something or someone to relieve the stress. In addition, his temper may not be the hottest, but it isn't the coolest either. This teen can get angry fast and when he does, almost always someone gets hurt. Moreover, he is very crafty and sometimes he might just work things to his advantage to get what he wants--his stubborn personality prevents him to admitting when he is wrong to quite a few people--unless he likes them. History: Where Nikolai was born is unknown to even himself. All he knows is that he was brought up by civilized demons in Mortikan until they died as he outlived them both. After that, he left Mortikan with relative ease as it was yet to be ruled by one family. Nikolai somehow ended up in Séroic, and then was chased out due to his demonic appearance. He fled and managed to find a way to the Holy Lands by boat. He landed in Namatone Lirithran, but frightened all there for he had the appearance of a dark celestial, but he was void of wings and identifying ornaments. Confused, he was quickly taken by a tall man of intelligence to Qin Takeshii. There, he was taken into a university there as he was constantly watched by the Celestials and studied. Why he looked like a hybrid was beyond them and yet, there were people claiming that he was Celestial due to the necklace he wore around his neck. As he grew in the province, he became acquainted with various strategy games that had been invented by the advisor of the lands and grew to love one game in particular--chess. He, however, never ventured to join the annual chess tournaments. That was, until the Yu Baraki of the Holy Lands invaded Mortikan. He didn't know why, but something about the scornful defeat of his homeland angered him and he wanted to show all these boastful Celestials just what the Undead were capable of. So, he entered the second chess tournament. His game was impressive and he made it through all the ranks until the imperial ranking. But by then, he was already accepted into the Celestial Palace for a year of internship with two other girls. On the first day, he caught sight of two tall twins. One seemed melancholy and the other almost childish in his contentment. And there, he encountered the Celestial that had brought him to Qin Takeshii--it was the advisor himself. The advisor quickly ushered Nikolai into a solitary room where he faced the second of the two twins he saw--he was told that it was Yu Baraki Jianki. Upon entering the room, the young prince's childish contentment remained upon his lovely countenance--Nikolai suddenly felt jealousy. An hour later, Nikolai had won--shocking Jianki and the boy's twin who had been in the corner watching all this time. However, before Nikolai could revel in his victory, the melancholy one arrived at the table, making Jianki leave with a few harsh words. He turned to Nikolai and gave a grim smile before introducing himself as Yu Baraki Tasn--the crown prince. All of a sudden, Nikolai froze--Tasn was the one that took down Eston. And then, with new vigor, the foreigner quickly told the crown prince to play the game with him. However, within three minutes, Nikolai had lost all of his pieces except for the king. And then, a second later, he lost the whole game. It was the first time he'd ever been defeated in chess and yet, the crown prince seemed bored--as if he didn't even bother to strategize beforehand--Nikolai was nothing. The crushing realization sent the demonic boy into a silence of days. And when he woke from the reverie of defeat, he started the apprenticeship. The advisor told Nikolai to relax as only the advisor could ever defeat the crown prince in a game of chess. Years later, Nikolai was recruited into the service of Dark Lord Garn Tasn Zheng. When he first went into the palace at North Hampton, he no longer saw the melancholy child-man he'd seen in the palace so many years ago--he saw a beautiful and cocky emperor. Nikolai became the head of the military and executed all plans wonderfully. But even then, Garn never spoke to him more than what was required and Nikolai's rival suddenly became Nikolai's object of admiration. But something went wrong. Nikolai, at the end of Garn's many years of reigning had executed the plan to take over the Holy Lands with great ease. However, something had been overlooked by both him and the Dark Lord. Realizing this, he instantly fled the lands the day before the Dark Lord fell. Nikolai entered into a hibernation of sorts in the land of Mistia soon after. Twenty four years before the present day, Nikolai awoke and suddenly found himself in a whole different era. It was frightening and yet, he managed to pass as a human due to the Celestial Desuya Kanare and wandered into Serdio. He recieved news there of all that he needed to know and left for the Holy Lands. Since then, after the ascension of Garn to the Holy Lands throne, he was served as one of the two advisors to the newest Yu Hasho. Favored weaponry: Long knives, riding crop, and bombs shaped like chess pieces. Likes: The rook in chess, chess, strategy games, dark violet, twilight, math, water, blood, knives, horses. Dislikes: Wings, pawns in chess, checkers, leather, noon, orange juice, women. Oddities: No wings, but still changes like a Celestial. Adopted by the Undead. Weimar is actually one of the few Celestials that still maintain this odd characteristic of being wingless. Wingless Celestials were thought to be diseased in the days of Karin Takeshii and were exiled to Mortikan. These wingless ones then eventually evolved into present-day Pasvies. |
