Forever Meredith Meredith is a northern town, is located in Svaoa and known for it's natural open port. It is one of the two areas where the Serdian navy is hosted. The Obrickian fleet of the Serdian navy, is hosted in Meredith while Alexandra, a more southern port hosts the Beydine/Langaen part of the navy. The two navies are divided, but can easily meet up at the Horn of Bezine to combine their effort as a single united navy. Meredith is not a large or luxerous city, but it represents the values of olden Serdio, the rural one. The people are not peasantry, although they do come from hefty peasant stock. They are a middle classed people, farming in plots, or traveling the land selling items as a peddler. Meredith is far removed from the culture of cosmopolitian Serdio, but holds it's own unique culture which has never changed, despite years of upheaval and reform which has changed Serdio from a Kenjikian province, to a poor kingdom, and to a nation-state under a Rlugian monarchs. The people here still refer to medieval cures and incantations to solve their problems. The town has it's own charm, well known for it's open markets which sell goods not found in the modern stores in southern Serdio. There is also a quiant diner and inn in the town of Meredith, both known for their hospitality and good service despite the fact they lack "great" food and board, which can be found in the more southern industrialized cities. Conservatism runs high in Meredith, which makes it a favorable vacation spot for the bourgoise elite of Serdio who share simular opinions with the town, thus many palacial manors are built in the far reaching terraces of Meredith. Meredith sits near the Truce mountains, a large mountain chain creates a natural border between Mortikan and Serdio. The mountains lower regions are terraced, and thus are popular vineyard areas, and are great retreats for the local and cosmopolitan nobility who have build palacial mansions and manors to look over their investments in the region. Overall, Meredith is lovely and quiant, a beacon of eternal ruralness for the Serdian nation. |

The Obrickian fleet slowly pulled into Meredith's port, the large wooden ships heaving as they settled in the northern port. The Admiral stepped down from the ship, the Caesar following behind him, along with the rush of sailors. "Welcome to Meredith, your majesty. I shall call for a motorcade, and it will transport you to Daube. Then you will take a boat down to Esto Gaza. Is that suitable?" "Yes, very much so." "Good. We need to get you down south..you see Mortikan lays to the north, as you know. We don't need an invasion, atleast not now." "Dear god! They can just waltz in!" "No..we have the north gate locked up." "Good." |

The motorcade pulled up. It was slow moving, and the Caesar would've prefered a carriage. But he complied and got inside the motorcade, sighing. It had wooden panelling, the outside made of iron. Steam whistled as the stocky item went off, slowly bouncing as it rode. It wasn't going very fast, and the Caesar sighed and stared out of the window, admiring the scenary of northern Serdio. "Do you like it up here?" The driver asked the Caesar. He shruged, not sure what to say. He had only been in Serdio a few hours. "It seems peaceful. Lots of farms and tiny villages. Meredith is splendid..but I wouldn't leave up here. The Truce mountains seem to form a boundry..but Mortikan could invade any time. Do the northerners live in fear?" The Caesar asked. "Not really. Serdio locked up the Northern gate on Mortikans revival. We view ourselves as the last bastion against the dark threat. Most of the north is fine, except for Aramasa.." |

"What is Aramasa? A city?" The Caesar asked, quickly wondering when the driver sighed. Outsiders, they never understood Aramasa. "It was a city. But during the first Mortkanian wars over 100 years ago, it was invaded by Mortikan. The population was enslaved, giant palaces and manors burnt down, and zombie factories put up. We drove them out at the end of the war..but Aramasa was a shell. Ghosts and monsters haunt the area, due to the dark magic which once overfell the region. It will never be inhabitable by people again..not even a blessing from Zelphis priests helps." The driver mumbled, causing the Caesar to shake with fear. Such horrible things to happen to a wonderous city. "Well, we're in Daube. It's getting late though, you may want to stay there before continuing to Esto Gaza. Esto Gaza is preparing for a summer festival, it's hotel will probally be filled." The driver stopped the car, got out, and opened the Caesars door. Gratefully he bowed in the Francisian style, and walked into the village known as Daube.. |

Farewell.. Giant galleons, with large white masts baring the Serdian crest sat in Meredith's harbors. It had been years since Serdio had last seen a colony. Few wanted a spawling empire, but rather a few tidy colonies to produce goods Serdio could not find at home. Thus an expedition had been put together by an obsure Meredithian Marquis, who had recieved a charter from the King* to set up a colony in the Highlands, in Galastar. There were only three galleons, but there were certainly enough people. Atleast a thousand people, varying between men, women and children were at the docks. Many were Pashan, wanting to set up new life outside Serdio following the major attack and loss by giant ships. There was also a ton of supplies. Food, seeds, lumber, and animals. There were also guns and other military items, which would be used to defend the new colony when it was set up. Besides common peasantry, there were also middle-classed artists and other people who could provide for the colonies, and upper class gentry and nobility, who had been granted titles for the new colony. It was a busy day, with the packing of supplies, but by night-fall it was all ready. A man stood up to address the people.. "My friends," he began. "we embark on an era for Serdio! We shall go forth to the Highlands, and establish a colony..for Svaoa..and Serdio!" Soon the boats had set sail. A new colony for Serdio was to come soon! |
