"Listen lady, I am by no means a brave warrior, but I am a nice person. I bid you farewell." Hiero leaves the building and rides on a boat to Bali. |

Jamachen approached the plantaion, burdened with animal skins, pelts and other prts that in his experience where sellable. He hoped that some of the folk here would by at least a portion of the merchandise. It was a long walk to the closest town, and a lightening of the load would help emensly. He sighted some workers in the fields and waved his arm to attract there attention. He called out some of the only zelphian language he knew in greeting, and gestured to his load of skins. "Any folk want to buy?" |

"I was curious, would you or those folk over yonder want to buy animal skins? I have dear, snake, and croc. I also have some bird talons and teeth from formentioned animals." The native Jamachen had learned was very good, he just didn't know that much of it. |

Cosette Hamilton was well placed. Her fraternal second cousin was the head of a lesser house, and had a great deal of property. She and her mother, who was the first cousin of the Lord Hamilton were provided for amply. The vast white mansion house stretched behind Cosette. She stood on the front steps that led up to the wide antebellum porch that fronted the plantation house. The plantation was a gift from the Lord Hamilton to his cousins. Though all the profit went to House Hamilton, a large allowance was given to the two Hamilton cousins. Cosette had in her lap a book bound in green leather. It was titled “The Traveux”. It was an old Kenjikan epic poem that was five thousand pages long. Despite the title, the book she was reading was not “The Traveux”. Currently “The Traveux” was lining the attic of the vast house behind Cosette. All five thousand pages of it. What had replaced the epic poem was a pamphlet, and one highly illegal at that. It had been hidden in the old book for protection. The Pamphlet was circulating all throughout the county, and the state mythical state Virginia. It was probably circulating all throughout the country. The Pamphlet was long, although not nearly as long as “The Traveux”. It was made on thick, home made paper however, and thus the book looked no less full than it would of had the ancient piece of literature not been ripped from its spine. The Pamphlet was anti Hegemony. It advocated violent and immediate secession. All the high families, and a number of the lesser houses were swept up with Eden nationalism. The Pamphlet advocated this: -A completely independent federal monarchy -The separation of Eden into four states (Virginia, Georgia, Carolina and Alabama. At the moment they were referred to as “They Mythical states” as they didn't exist. People would talk about “Visiting kin in the Mythical state of such and such” or “Taking a vacation in the Mythical state of etc. etc.” -Colonial exploits into the Vulcan Wastelands for slaves -Pioneering into Eden proper The Pamphlet revealed that Nationalists had spoken to the Elves, who said they would remain neutral. When asked about plants for populating the groves, the Elves agreed that if this civil war did indeed happen, and if it was a success, the elves would migrate to the Aizion river valley, where most of them live anyway, and leave Eden proper for expansion. Cosette knew all of this, though she had read none of it. Cosette was a belle, and did not have time to read it. Though she tried, it bored her to tears. What she knew, she had learned off the incessant lectures of her Beux and the other country gentlemen. She cared very little for this. With her blond locks, and pretty face, she had more to worry about than secession. |

The carriage drove up the wide drive, and the white antebellum inspired house came into view. Cosette’s heart immediately was lifted. She hadn't liked traveling about the world. Her Grand tour of Serdio was a flop, and she was excited to remerge in the provincial social life. They had, after all, arrived at the height of the social season. Ms. Darcy stood on the top of the high steps. She wore her black taffeta dress, with mutton chops and a long skirt. “Madams” She said. Mammy shot her a deadly glare. The Slave and the free Shii did not get along. “Mov’ out da way Dawcy” Mammy said, nearly knocking the slender Carmel skinned woman out of the way, as she entered the house, laden with boxes. The frock Cosette wore was one piece, with a thin under blouse of light yellow. THe over frock was darker blue, and velvet. The sleeves were long, and she wore gloves. She also wore a dainty little hat. Her hair was swept up. Her mother wore a plainer house dress, with a black blouse and matching skirt. She was dressed very much like Ms. Darcy. “Madams, I trust you enjoyed your trip to Serdio” Ms. Darcy said, in her crisp well pronounced voice that made her so hated among the slaves. “I remember I took Mr. Hamiliton to Serdio when he was about Ms. Cosette’s age. He enjoyed it very much. That, of course, was during the Velon reign. Oh, Ms. Cosette, a letter came for you.” Cosette, who had been overseeing the various slaves who were now transporting the various boxes and trunks into the hall looked up. From some fold in her skirt, Ms. Darcy removed an impressive looking letter. “Its... from Augusta...” Gen snatched it, and ripped through the imposing wax seal. She scanned it. Murmuring “Oh gods” a few times. She finished, and near dropped the letter. “Madam, what is it?” Ms. Darcy said, approaching, looking anxious. “I have been invited to court... in Augusta... by his majesty!” Cosette’s mother fainted. |

Shortly after Cosette arrived back home at Hamiliton house, she was preparing again to leave. To the protests of both Mammy and Mrs. Hamiliton, Ms. Darcy was forceful in her opinion that she would accompany Cosette to Augusta. By this time, details had been arranged, and things made more sense. Cosette would go to court, and stay at the Hamiliton Townhouse on North Aizion isle, as a representative of her uncle, the Governor of Virginia. Not a week later Cosette sat in a new green satan traveling gown, lined in black fur with a lace and taffeta blouse, in a plush carriage, on her way to Augusta. |
