Safidell fell silent for a moment. Many things went through the Yu Hasho's mind. It would be quite rude to decline.

"Hm...we shall try to attend," Safidell told him.

"Alright, good day sir." The diplomat said, leaving. When he reached outside, he began to mumble under his breath.

"Why is our great empire wasting our time on these savages.."

The guards outside had heard him. However, they didn't comment until the diplomat was out of hearing distance.

"I really disliked how our country dealt with these Serdians in that peace meeting. I mean, it was rediculous how much money they had to pay for mere scratches on some damned airships," one of them said.

The other nodded, agreeing.

Once Safidell was no longer in the throne room, a woman seemingly in her early twenties stepped in. She wore an expensive hot pink gown and upon each side her head were two fin-like decorations. Her chestnut brown hair was held back and it was in neat curls. She walked in the most lady-like fashion over to the throne and then stopped in front of it when she heard a familiar clearing of throat.

The woman's beautiful brown eyes narrowed for a moment. However, she then remembered that doing that would make her look less pretty so she forced herself to look gentle and lady-like once more. Turning around, she found Feng at the door directly opposite of the throne in an oriental and tight-fitting red dress. There were slits that reached mid thigh on either sides and designs of phoenixes covered it. Her red hair was tied loosely, but there were two locks in front of her. Feng's hands were gloved with red gloves outlined with gold. Her eyes held a superior glint.

"Hello there Reyah," Feng said, smiling.

Reyah was silent for a moment as she surveyed Feng. Her beauty was rivialing her own once more. It was irritating to have someone older look younger and prettier.

"Hello," here she curtised to Feng.

"Ready to attend?" the crimson warrior inquired.

Reyah forced a smile and nodded. Perhaps the forcing part had been too obvious for she saw a moment of satisfaction on Feng's face. Neither had their wings or ears visible. Both had decided to go to Drake's dinner as humans. It attracted less attention on their race.

"Come with me. Lord Safidell and the rest are outside," Feng told her.

After that, she disappeared from the doorway. Biting back a curse, Reyah followed.

"No, I assure you it was red."

"Hell no it wasn't, get your damned eyes checked, Jianki! It was blue and silver!"

"Don't call me that. It's not me that has to get my eyes checked, it's you who has to. How can you possibly see two colors in that one color, Tasn?"

"Tasn's not my name, it's Garn, fool. And I wasn't the one that was temporarily blind a long time ago!"

"The last time I checked, you still responded to Tasn with firore."

"...Firore's different. He's from the old times--"

"Are you calling him old?"

"--er...no, of course not!"

"Hah, you got nervous!"

"Did not!"

"Then was was that hesitation?"

"That hesitation wasn't because of that! You have food stuck in your teeth!"

"LIAR! I haven't eaten all day!"

"Well--it's from yesterday then!"

"Are you stating that there is a flaw in the Zheng cleaning potion?"

"Uh...um..."

"Gotcha," Raghnall said smugly.

Both were in the bedroom halls, walking side by side. They had just returned from the gardens. Garn's face was flushed with fury.

"Stitch that mouth shut!" the older twin snapped.

"Stitch? Since when did the almighty Garn use such a old phrase?" Raghnall asked, eyes twinkling with amusement.

"That clearly shows who is more respectful of their Celestial heritage!"

"Eh? The last time I heard, you hated your Celestial heritage," the younger twin remarked.

"Silence, tomater boy!"

The scornful exclaimation only made Raghnall burst out laughing.

"Tomater boy? Ha! You're funny, Tasn, you really are. We haven't use that since we were two hundred years old!"

All of a sudden Garn halted and gave his younger brother a look of utter loathing. Clenching his fists, the former dark lord stormed off to his room. Raghnall continued laughing even after he had heard Garn slam his door.

Pikan Giri was today and therefore everywhere in the Holy Lands, even the palace was covered with gray. There was little activity and the land seemed empty. That was until Waldron's chains jingled merrily around Garn.

"Give the dead some more respect if you will, Tasn," the firore said.

The gray robe Waldron wore didn't suit the Celestial, but he still wore it for today was the day Celestials respected the dead. The visible eye of the firore flashed angrily at the former dark lord who still stood indignantly in his now torn black robe. The chains that were upon Garn cut into his flesh, but the younger Celestial cared not.

"Since when did you participate in this day, firore? Besides, me eating something finally in a week should've relieved you!" the former dark lord snapped.

Waldron's hands around his chains tightened.

"Perhaps, but did it have to be an egg?! I can pardon you not wearing gray, but eating an egg in Pikan Giri would've gotten you cursed at!"

Garn raised an eyebrow.

"You point being?"

The firore seemed to be shocked at his former student's behavior. Biting his lower lip, the pink-haired Celestial enchanted his chains to lift Garn from the ground and slam him to the wall. Involuntarily, blood spewed from the former dark lord's lips.

"What has happened to your and your respect, Tasn? Have I taught you nothing of the sort?"

"You have and I've decided not to apply that lesson for today," Garn snapped his fingers and the chains retracted from him.

After that, the former dark lord turned, only to see a group of the palace servants staring at him. Garn braved a glance down at his own body. The former dark lord was a bloody mess. Closing his eyes, he pondered for a moment about what to do. He decided to clean himself up first and then go out and get some more eggs. Opening his fathomless back eyes once more, he sneered at the curious spectators and walked past them coldly.

Waldron stood there, chains limp in his hands. He grinned as he watched Garn leave.

"Perhaps he does have some respect."

Feng returned to the palace in silence. No one tried speaking to her for she seemed to be deep in thought. As she walked aimlessly through various hallways, she suddenly found herself in the hidden gardens. However, she stood deadly still the instant she was in it.

"Who's there? Oh, it's you Lady Feng. A thousand pardons!" Waldron suddenly emerged and so did the chains.

His chains surrounded the garden like a web and it was now clear that Feng had froze to prevent from being injured by it. The firore hastily touched the end of the chains and instantly they came back to him.

Feng let out a sigh of relief and leaned against a marble pillar. Her crimson eyes were locked upon Waldron who was putting the chains away.

"You have a Talimanc Elemental, don't you, Lady Feng?" he asked.

The crimson warrior gave a start and looked at the Firore curiously.

"Why do you ask?"

Waldron chuckled and curiously tapped his hidden eye.

"I saw her when I was retracting my chains," he explained.

Feng fell silent, unsure of what to make of it.

"Anyway, I presume you know, don't you?" Waldron asked, suddenly serious.

"...know what?" the crimson warrior inquired.

"One word: Serdio."

Feng stared down at the Firore and suddenly all fell into place.

"Yes, but the others don't just yet, do they?" she asked him.

Waldron shook his head, an unfamiliar expression suddenly came to his face--a sneer.

"They would merely be a liability if they knew now. Lady Feng, I beg you to hold your peace."

Feng responded to this with a crafty smile. Instantly her mind was full of ideas about what to do.

"Of course, Firore Waldron, of course."

Garn brushed his hair from his face as he looked around his room. Something was wrong about this room...something was missing. The former dark lord bit his lip and furrowed his brows as he inspected the room. Nothing seemed to be out of place and yet he felt like something was gone from it. Suddenly, his fathomless black eyes widened, realizing what it was.

"Holy Faten!" he cried and literally pounced onto a pillow and dug into it.

As his fingers went through the feathers within, he grew even more apprehensive.

"...it's not there..." he muttered, suddenly very frightened.

"Where are Lord Garn and Raghnall?"

"I saw them just a moment ago--"

"Where?"

"Um...in Emerald Sect."

With that, Waldron walked away from the servant and strode quickly to the Emerald Sect. Once he was there, he smiled, relieved. There, side by side were Raghnall and Garn. Their backs were to the firore, but they didn't seem to be saying anything. Curious, Waldron circled in front of them and gazed at their blank faces.

"What are you two up to?"

Raghnall blinked and looked down at Waldron.

"Nothing..." he muttered.

"Just enjoying the view of the marble wall," Garn replied, grinning.

Waldron's visible eye twinkled with amusement. He knew they were keeping something from him, but it didn't matter. Secrets were always fun.

"Right, I'll leave you children to play then," the firore said and walked off.

In the vast marble halls of the Celestial Palace, a cold chuckle echoed. A chuckle that chilled the bones of everyone who heard it. A chuckle that resonated evil. A chuckle that was followed shortly by a scream. A chuckle that was still heard in the minds ears of everyone, hours later, when the body of a mutilated servant was found in one of the labyrinth like halls of the celestial palace. Her blood splattered across the marble of the floors.

Feng, Jian and Safidell stood around the mutilated body with grave expressions upon their faces. Someone had infiltrated the palace...someone who knew it all too well. The crimson warrior bent down and touched the bloodied and disfigured face of a serving woman that was once considered a great beauty. Blood mixed with silver tears dripped onto Feng's warm hand.

"...the rumors were true then..." Jian muttered, gazing at the damage of the body.

"That laugh was unmistakable," Safidell added, leaning on a marble wall.

"These cuts are well made, an expert at murder--"

"Don't forget the way her clothes are arranged, Feng," Jian said.

"Yes...well that means that bastard of a Mecca is back and I don't think he's all too pleased with us either," Feng mused.

Getting up, Feng looked around. There was a servant nearby, sobbing into her apron. Crimson eyes softened upon her, the servant was the sister of the victim.

"Sofia, please go get a Leri here and quick," Feng ordered quietly.

The tearful servant looked up and nodded. The trio watched as the young girl stumbled her way out of the dimly lit hall. Once she was out of earshot, Safidell sighed, raking a hand through his golden locks.

"You would think there would be guards in this hall," the Yu Hasho said, sighing wearily.

Jian nodded, agreeing. "Yes, being the fabled den of our guards afterall. Mortikan was very cocky to have killed someone here."

Safidell was leaving the bloodied hall when suddenly a note materialized and slapped itself on the Yu Hasho's face.

"Gah!"

Stumbling back, Safidell ripped it off his face and scanned its contents. The note was stained with blood and quickly scrawled. It was most difficult to read. However, he got the jist of it. A moment later, Safidell suddenly heard distant humming and thunder.

"...oh dear...QIU! FENG!" he screamed.

Instantly they were at his side, looking at him, worried.

"There's been an attack in Qin Takeshii. Send troops out and make sure they find a way to go deaf. The humming will stun them," Safidell told the two.

"...Qin Takeshii?" Qiu asked her face drained of color.

Safidell gave her a questioning look.

"Lin and Severin are there!" the Yu Kireshi suddenly cried, running off.

"H-Hey! QIU!" Feng cried, running after her.

Safidell stared after them, holding back the urge to go after them. He had the stay in the palace no matter what.

Word came to Safidell quickly enough, but he seemed to be slightly distracted. Sitting on the throne, he looked over at Prime Minister Mestra.

"Do we have any stitch witches or wizards in the palace?" he asked.

Mestra looked startled and gazed at the Yu Hasho's unusual vacant gaze.

"...your daughter's one and I think we have around ten more as servants," the Prime Minister replied.

"Fine, send them to Qin Takeshii," Safidell ordered, getting out of his throne.

Mestra gazed at the Yu Hasho, surprised to see that his fair features suddenly became tense.

"V-very well, Yu Hasho," the Prime Minister said and walked off.

Once he was gone, Safidell turned to the back wall of the throne room.

"In-laws, I'll be counting on you to protect the palace. If you need to find me, I'll be at the temple," the Yu Hasho said.

"Fine, fine, be careful. If I'm correct, those buggers will be coming their way within minutes," the reply belonged to Saki.

Safidell smiled grimly and nodded. Taking out a potion, he drank it and shivered. Smashing the glass to the ground, the Yu Hasho smiled and walked off.

A letter appeared on the desk of Feng, magically. It bore the seal of the Rei Henka of Meria, and the Alpha Lord of the Hegemony, Tigris Mecca II.

My dearest wife,

It has been far to long that we have been apart. I hear nothing of you, it is as if our marriage no longer exists. This pains me greatly for I remember with fondness the love we once shared.

Therefor, I invite you to live with me in Hayholt and rule Meria as my consort, the Rex Henka. Be the Alpha Lady of the vast Hegemony, and again let us be a family.

Your loving husband,

Tigris

P.S. If this, or another agreement to reunite us is not agreeable with you, I see no reason why this marriage should continue.

Feng walked into her room and sighed. She was well aware that Tigris was alive now and yet she had yet to contact him. The crimson warrior silently closed the door behind her and pressed her hand against her heart. Crimson eyes looked distracted. She had all the time in the world...

Suddenly, her eyes caught sight of something on her desk. Dropping her hand to the side, Feng walked over and picked it up. What she read shocked her--she didn't expect him to be the one making the move. Her lower lip quivered and she bit down on it once she was done. He hadn't forgotten...after all these years... A silver tear slid down her face and dripped onto the letter.

"No...this is not the time," she told herself and wiped the tears from her eyes.

Quickly, without a word, she opened her window and jumped out. Once away from the window, there was a crack and she flew off to see Tigris.

"...um...Firore Waldron?"

A knock followed the question.

Waldron laid on his bed, fully clothed and stock still. His visible green eye gazed lazily up at the pink canopy. The Celestial pointedly ignored the voice and question.

The knock came again, louder.

Waldron sighed and sat up, fixing his tousled hair. He stretched his arms and yawned quietly.

"Firore Waldron, there are people here to see you."

The firore glanced at the ash door as he lowered his arms. His bright demeanour overrided the tired one. Slowly he got out of his bed and strode over to the door.

"What type of people, Lord Jian?" Waldron asked.

"Reporters and writers. They all got wind of your deed in saving the world," Jian replied from the other side.

"Oh. Tell them to go away, then," the pink-haired Celestial said brightly.

"They don't seem to want to leave without a single word from you."

"Well tell them Waldron Zenon told them to go away and stop bothering him," Waldron quipped and walked back to bed.

There was silence from the other side of the door. And then a sigh. "As you wish."

Waldron listened in silence as Jian's light strides became fainter and fainter. He closed his eyes and fell back heavily into bed. It had been a draining experience to have done what he did with the annoying bugs and so he needed a day or two to revive himself. Even candy wouldn't restore his energy.

"Stupid kids these days..."

Safidell grimaced at the reports he recieved. 300 Celestials were ripped of their wings and drained utterly of their elixir a few days after Jian had stumbled back in and locked himself in his room. Something terrible was going on--someone wanted their immortality and someone was doing all this all too fast.

"A gold for your thoughts?" a pleasant voice asked.

The golden-haired Yu Hasho shifted in his seat upon the throne and looked over his right shoulder. Firore Waldron stared up at him with the first plesant smile he had seen from the curious elder in days.

Safidell returned the smile and gestured for the Firore to have a seat next to him. This Firore Waldron was a mystery and yet Safidell couldn't help but feel drawn to this peculiar Celestial after the incident with the bugs. His prescence was always calming.

The pink-haired Celestial bowed and took a seat next to the Yu Hasho.

"Celestials have been torn brutally and most strangely. And my data tells me it was done either by one or two persons," Safidell explained.

"Oh? How were they 'torn' exactly?"

"Their wings were ripped right off and the fluid of those said wings traditionally should leave their markings, but none were found--they were completely drained of the elixir."

"...how many?"

"300 so far."

Firore Waldron fell silent for a moment and Safidell glanced back at his papers, smooth forehead creasing.

"It cannot be done by a human," the Firore muttered.

Safidell nodded, agreeing. These attacks happened all too fast and they were scattered as well.

"That is apparent. Whoever these are, they are expert in assasination and us as well," the Yu Hasho remarked.

"Yes...yes...," Waldron muttered with a heavy sigh.

"Any witnesses?" another voice asked.

Safidell knew it was Qiu behind the hidden room behind the throne itself.

"Yes, in fact...we were lucky enough to have two--"

"What?!" Waldron interrupted, suddely alarmed.

His visible eye was locked upon Safidell and for a moment, his expression was a mixed one that was unreadable.

"...there were two witnesses, Sir Zenon," the Yu Hasho repeated, slightly timid of the pink-hair Celestial.

Waldron regained his poise and took a deep breath.

"How can that be possible?" he muttered.

"My thoughts exactly," Qiu said from the other side.

Safidell closed his eyes and leaned back on the throne.

"Are you both implying that they aren't--"

"They must be the murderers themselves," Firore Waldron stated stiffly.

Indigo-blue eyes opened and gazed at the pink-haired Celestial. His expression was a happy one again.

"Yes, I do think he is correct in his assumption, do bring them in, Safidell," the Yu Kireshi added.

Safidell nodded, but the Firore raised a hand to abate further action.

"Let me take care of them. I do not want any harm to come to the Yu Hasho," Waldron told him.

The Yu Hasho's eyes widened and he rose from the throne, throwing his documents aside.

"But Sir Zenon--"

"I'll take care of them," the Firore said firmly.

Safidell looked like he wanted to object, but Waldron was already walking over to the exit.

"Don't worry about it, fate always favored me," and with that, he disappeared.

Behind the palace, where all Celestials avoided sat Garn amid a cloud of smoke. Clad in faded black robes, the Celestial sighed and twirled the cigarette wtih practiced motion. He rested his head on the white wall, closing his eyes.

The smoke was revolting and taking a single drag sent shivers down any Celestial within breathing distance. And yet, Garn loved it during these times.

The former dark lord ran a hand through his silky tresses and let the cigarette rest between his lips as he took another drag. Garn shuddered and let his eyes flutter open. Fathomless black eyes were glazed as the fumes entered and were expelled from his body.

Garn took the cigarette from his mouth and raised it to the sky. Grey fumes trailed out like thick rainclouds from the lit end. He smiled watching it go. This thing was far easier to smoke than with a pipe. And yet, it caused far more pain. Should he switch back to the pipe?

"Garn!" someone cried from within the palace.

The former dark lord sighed and took another long drag, savoring the pain.

"What?" he asked, smoke expelling from his lips.

"Sir Zenon wants you to stop smoking and help him!"

Garn rolled his eyes and took another drag. He glanced at the thing between his fingers. Only two more drags left.

"Garn!"

He ignored the person and allowed himself to be intoxicated again by the drug.

"Tasn Zheng!" it was Waldron this time and he sounded annoyed.

"I don't give a fuck! Let me finish!" Garn snapped, taking the final drag.

Smashing it on the ground, the former dark lord destroyed the evidence and continued to stare out in space with glazed eyes. His vision was blurry from smoking and his limbs were weak. That had been his tenth one.

"TASN!" Waldron roared.

Garn paid no heed. The Celestial felt a hand pull at his robes, but the former dark lord didn't respond. He wanted to savor the sensation of emptiness for a moment longer.

Garn heard the person holding him lose his grip and scramble away to deposit his contents in a bush. It was then that his eyes unglazed and realized his Firore was vomiting from the fumes.

Cursing, Garn forced himself to his feet and staggered over, but Waldron held out a hand to stop him. It was then that he realized he semmed of tabacco. Revolted, he stripped himself of the robe and used a cleansing spell twice, incinerating the robe.

He now stood in only black pants, but at least he didn't smell like the horrid fumes at all. Rushing over, Garn gently pulled back his firore's hair as he muttered soothing phrases in Ashitasn, as if Waldron were his child in great emotional trauma.

A minute passed and Waldron stood back up, wiping his mouth with a white hankerchief. It was stained red afterward. Mutely, Garn handed him a sack of candy. The Firore regarded his former pupil frostily and took the bag from him.

"Never again will you let me near those fumes, Tasn," he snapped.

Garn nodded and allowed himself to be dragged in by the shorter man.
