Angena frowned at the book, disappointed that Klien couldn't read it all. They read the first fifteen pages or so... He was very patient with her, which she was thankful for, and he wasn't condescending at all. After that, however, the book was just blank... What was the point of all those blank pages, then? It didn't make any sense, but Angena felt a bit down that her little prize didn't have anything she needed to know. Fenrik said it would take more than a scientist to read it... She wondered what that meant.

She then listened as Fenrik told her what she would be facing. "Bring on all the guardians," she said, grinning. "I'll kick the shit out of each of 'em, just you wait. Or beat their crappy little games or whatever the hell they want to do. And a city of vice and corruption you say? Yeah, sounds like my kind of place." She chuckled. "Anyways, I'm not too worried about the games or whatever. I've got my magic, and Klien's started teaching me some stuff, so I should be fine." She smiled over at Klien... This was very unexpected. It was a real, genuine smile.

Well, that was depressing. A book with 15 pages of clues, then the rest is blank. Wonderful. Wonderful. Oh well.

"Well, just means that we get to decyper the book. Ah well." Klien said after she was finished, smiling back at her.
Things are getting. . . better. I just hope that we survive.

"I guess that will have to do then. Your spirit and guts greatly surpass your wits... but that maybe a good thing. A tip. Magic used to be wild and rampant but the world decided it was too much for the to actually handle so they created rules and such to maintain an order. If that's true... what could happen if all the power were just... let go?" He smiled as he as looked at Angena.

He stood up as he looked at the city and said "Let's go to the corrupt city that once called the Sky City..." as he began walking slowly to the top of the clouds...

The city emerged as two unpolished golden gates greeted them, as 2 old crooked ladies welcome you to the knitting club, squeaking like crazy and fidgety. The lack of care or even cleaning on the city could be seen with only a glance. The broken bottles, the dirty trash, the bums that circled the city. The sounds of gunshots boomed in the air, in an attempt to break the silence.

From the main gate, the main street was connected to the main road that could be gone from left to right. The buildings were all boarded up except a few selected ones which were the Bar, The Brothel and the Police Station.

"Well... " Fenrik said as he looked at Angena "From here on, you'll have to decide where we need to go. The Tool will appear based on the decisions you make... so don't overthink and go with the flow."

-------------------------------------

The King looked with surprise as he then bellowed "How dare you question the order of your KING? I shall have to -...!" He was saying, until a clear snap was heard. The next moment felt like time had actually stopped... And indeed it did. The kings face was distorted from the anger and the speaking he was doing, as if it were a really good cartoon statue.

Jacks in the other hand was still in motion. "Well... The king surely bought that. Now..." He said as he continued sipping his tea "I fully know of the policy that your "clan" work around to do their missions. I find quite fascinating to find a group of people that are actually interested in balance. And that is why I want to hire you." He said as he finished the tea.

"You see... those 4 are currently on a quest that involves the very fabric of time and space itself. They are on the correct path... for now, but... I feel that after they get one of the items that I hired them to look for, I'll regret the choice. You will act as my eyes and ears. You'll join in that group as the new Searcher of Nature... But you will not be a true Searcher anyways." He said as he looked at the group. "Do not tell anyone about me, specially the Metal Mutt. He is a cunning bastard and I might think he could suspect you."

Jacks snapped his finger as the chains and magic that was restraining Amaya were lifted and unshackled. "As for that king... You can do whatever you want. I'll keep the time frozen until you leave the castle, so you can take whatever you feel like in the castle. I'll meet you outside for a better debriefing" He said as he walked outside.

The lizard went over to a few bottles, his pots clunking loudly. He sniffed them to figure out what they were, it seemed they were... 'adult drinks'. He shook his head but he got a BIG idea. Mead is made from honey... maybe he could go somewhere and sell some of his honey, to be honest he did need to get some pots off his back, at this rate he would be a pack mule... But where would he go...? He wandered around not loosing sight of the group, unsure where to go.

"So are they a danger to the balance or can be and you want me to make sure they don't endanger it?"

Amaya said and stood up and massaged her wrists where she had been bound and was stretching a bit from being a captive.

"Since I can accept that but I need to check with my order about this as our leader has a sense to discover if the balance is in danger."

She walked over to the king and took out a long dagger and stabbed it right trough his chest.

"And there a job is done, I need to go back and report this first but where would I find these people if this is true?"

Jack stopped for a moment as he said "Your order and I are close friends. Once you report the mission, I'll be there to explain how to deal with the mission. But don't take long, if you can." He said as he opened the door and left.

"Right"

Amaya said and pressed in the knife some more to make sure it was a lethal blow and then walked out of the castle to return home to the order. She used a portal stone that only could be activated if her mission had been completed to return home faster as now her job was done and she greeted the guard and said that the deed was done.

Looking out over the city with a focused stare, Angena pondered her options. Fenrik's tip settled in her mind... What if the raw power of magic was unleashed? Well, she was a pretty chaotic person. If anyone could release the true, untempered flow of magic, it would be her. She didn't know how that was going to help her, but she guessed it had to do with a challenge or something. This was her time, it was all on her, since this was her "tool..." She seemed more serious than usual, quiet. If she screwed up here, her fame and fortune would evaporate into thin air. And... Klien might be disappointed. He might think she was more stupid than she already was. She didn't want that... for whatever reason.

"Hrm..." The streets were... cleanly...ish. Admittedly, it looked like a war party had torn through the city, but hey, it didn't -quite- look like the place had been nuked yet, so it was an improvement over what Angena had experienced in her old world. Yeah, there was trash everywhere, but hey, maybe some good shit that could help them out could be found for one of those "challenges" or whatever against the Guard-ee-ans. Bums scrambled along, looking for any little bit of useful change, and stared at her as if asking her for something. She shot them a glare in return.

"The tool... will appear based on here I choose..." She murmured. So she guessed it didn't really matter where she went, necessarily. Stuff would be different, but the tool would change location based on where she went anyways. She could go down the street further, but it looked like the doors to every building were boarded...except for a Bar, a Brothel, and a Police Station. Hmmm, those options... The bar sounded nice, at first. But she knew she'd quickly get smashed, and then be a dizzy idiot for the rest of this journey. She did make a mental note to come back if they succeeded, though. There was also the brothel... But if she went in there, she might be confused with a prostitute. Then she would have to kill everyone in the immediate area, and no one wanted that.

That left the police station... Which... Just what kind of police did this city even have? It certainly looked like outlaws ran the town to her... She walked to the police station, opening the door fearlessly and heading inside.

Inside the building the there was only one woman that was wearing an interesting get up. She looked she was wearing a tux, with a tail coat and all complemented with a top hat. She was shuffling over and over a deck of cards as she then yawned. She looked rather bored.

"Finally... someone that comes into this dump. I'm guessing you are here to report a crime or you are to actually enter into our Casino?" She asked to the group with a bored voice.

"What about neither, just looking for directions?" Klien said experimentally, with a grin.
When given two options, pick a third one. Throws em off. Heeee.
The little robot, ED, beeped a couple times before taking a picture of this woman- with a flash, that while irritating, wasn't dangerous at all. Just something automatic in low-light situations.
Hopefully we can get Angena her wand, then we can go to Atlantis, to get my hammer. Wheeeee.

Looking around carefully first, Angena's eyes settled on the only real thing of note in the room - a woman, wearing... a really fancy frickin' get-up. She wore a tuxedo... An actual, new-looking one, which was a first for Angena. She had only seen them messed up, tattered, and ancient in her homeland. There was this weird hat on her head, which Angena couldn't figure out the purpose for. Was she just trying to look good with that? Or did it... actually do something? Because it looked pretty damn ridiculous to Angena. Ahh well...

"Errr... the police station..." she said slowly. "Has... a casino?" Well, this was -her- kind of police force, at the very least... "...I gotta check that shit out."

She smiled as she stood up and stopped shuffling. She kicked her chair out of the way as she then opened a door that was underneath. Music could be heard as she said "The Golem and the .... Thing" Pointing at the Lizard bee, "Must stay outside. They will not be able to fit through the door and they are too dangerous for the types of game we have down."

"Everyone... Follow me" She said as she descended to the floor and through the lit staircase. Fenrik looked at the creature and said "Let's go and see what we can do outside."

The Master of the Order was looking at some parchment, when Amaya teleported back to the office. He stood up and clapped his hands together as he grinned. "Amaya! So good you made it back! We had heard some really unsettling rumors about you!"

"Eh, s'fine with me," Angena said, shrugging. She wasn't incredibly fond of Fenrik or the lizard bee anyways, so it didn't really bother her. Just what kind of "games" did they have at a Casino that happened to be hidden in a police station, though? Angena supposed there was really no reason to waste time guessing... They would just have to wait and see what lied in store for them. She wondered if one of the challenges of the guardians might have something to do with casino games. She could dig that... She had gotten thrown out of plenty of casinos in her day. ...Okay, so not ALL of those casinos threw her out for winning too much money, some threw her out for... other, reasons, but... She still considered herself a pretty good gambler.

Klien followed her down, hoping that little ED could calculate the odds for any gambling game- he made blackjack a snap, after all.
Hopefully not too much gambling. We don't have much money. Dang.

"I was in a bit of a pickle there... But I was saved by a very powerful and weird masked man. He asked me about a job and I needed to go back here to check if they are truly a danger to the balance."

Amaya said with a bow and waited for the leaders response to this matter. Her head was swimming with thoughts however on what this all meant.

The lizard watched as they went into the casino, he was sad he couldn't go in... He then smelt something nice... And started to head in the direction of it. It smelled like fruits... but a bit moldy, maybe it was a drink?

Angena and Klien walked down and down... until they reached a door. A really reinforced door. The woman pushed the door open as the interior of the casino was ... peculiar. There no slot machines, but there were many tables of card games and dice rolling. That was the normal part. but on the floor... there seemed to be an arena on the center of the casino.

An arena that was featuring a live combat battle to the death! A man was fighting on what they assumed to be a hooded person. The mystery guy was not using any kind of weapon, but the opponent was missing an arm, as if it had been cut clean off.

"All the attractions are available today. Here are your tokens..." the tuxedo girl said as she passed a bag of tokens to Angena. The hooded man finished off the man with ease as cheers grew to an exponential rate. "Third time this week... bring the cleaners."

The hooded man stepped outside the arena and walked to the bar, where a warm drink was waiting for him. The crowd dispersed as the games were calling the players.

--------------------------------------

"Powerful and masked man..." The leader said as he patted his head and then he realized "Oh yes! The Masked man! Yes, that man has been a frequent client of us. Did he mention anything of importance?"

The Leader stared at Amaya with interested eyes. The Leader knew Jack, so he was okay... right?

------------------------------

Fenrik saw Lizard bee dart off what seemed to be into the general direction of the bar. "Oh no..." He said as he began to follow him. He knew that with his luck, that guy would have himself killed.

The lizard happily went into the bar ignorant of any threat. His pots bumped into each other making their little noises as he went inside. He went to a bar and smelled a very alluring thing... It was in a fancy bottle... It smelled like a queen of some sort and it was grand... It was behind a glass though... He then started to look around for someone to help him get to the glass.

"He mentioned something about the searcher of nature and that they could possibly screw up the balance and wanted me to infiltrate the group to see that it doesn't happen."

Amaya said and looked at the chief again.

"So they can be a danger to the balance?"

For an entire area hidden under a police station, the casino seemed to be pretty lively. It looked like the arena was for betting on matches between warriors... She wondered if she could make any money herself just by entering as a contestant, and beating the shit out of some other punk. Of course, she was supposed to be finding her tool, or whatever... Which, in order to do that, she was supposed to just... do anything she wanted, from the sounds of it. The tool would be present wherever she went, whatever the hell she did, so she might as well have some fun.

She did love to gamble, and hadn't been to such a place in quite awhile... She also got the bag of tokens, seemingly for just entering the place. She wondered why she had gotten them free... that didn't make sense. Was there a catch of some sort? Maybe it was just a hook, to get her started and addicted to gambling here, so she would spend more money on more tokens. Or something... She didn't really know how those old cooky business types who owned joints like this did things. She decided to go over to the hooded man, looking him up and down. His performance in the arena match had been... quite impressive.

"...Good fight," she said, still sizing him up. "...What's the point of the arena in a casino like this? Do people bet on the matches?"

The hooded man looked at Angena as he took a sip. His face was still hidden though, but then a rough voice said. "Not exactly. People can bet on the outcome of the battle, but they can do many things more. In this place, money is not required, for we use... other kind of currency." He said as he pointed at the dead corpse that was being shoved into bags.

"People bring people they want to make them suffer and then they bring here so that they fight until they die. Me included." He said as he drank the cup. "But, I'm not going to die until I say that I want to die."

"Those tokens you have are your way in... and out. You can't leave this place without doubling the amount inside of it. That is the catch of the place. Sneaky, huh?"

He said as he pointed at the guards that were guarding the place. They were... trolls. 2.5 meters tall and hunky big. Even Angena would have trouble getting out, not to mention the door in itself was massive.

---------------------

"Searchers... It has a long time since I have heard that term being used. Take a seat Amaya. Apparently, we'll have to talk a lot then."

She sat down and paid attention to the old man. "The story of the 3 gods is something that everybody knows of. Machina'ar, Lifea and Kasatik. They represent each one Metal, Nature and Magic, the 3 elements that represent our current world. Each of the gods created a tool so that they can bend and create the world. But they decided to hide the Tools in our earth..."

"So we have made it so that the tools are never to be found. Too much power on mortals is never a good sign" He said as he looked at Amaya. "We have intervened in the Search for many years now... and I think it's time to intervene again".

-------------------------------

The bartender didn't even faze at the sight of the monster... "If you want it, you must buy it." He just muttered. Fenrik was debating to go in or not. Chances were, there was someone in there that he had pissed off a while ago."

The lizard looked at the bartender, tilted his head, and put his pots on the bar so the bartender could see what he would like. He knew the bartender would LOVE at least one of the things, the bar did smell and some of the things could be used for nice fragrances. His tail moved happily as he waited.

Ahhh, now that made more sense. Who just gave away shit for free? There was always - always - a catch involved, of some sort. And it appeared this catch was very sneaky indeed. Angena nodded slowly, tapping a claw against her chin. "That is quite devilish of 'em... I like it," she said, grinning. "So I have to just double these tokens, eh... I'm feeling lucky." She chuckled, elbowing Klien. "Don't you worry, you've got your fancy science-stuffs, but I got a degree in being one lucky bitch."

"So what kinda ways are there to double these token?" She asked, tilting her head. "I see a lot of card games... Can I be a participant in the arena, as well as bet on it? Can I enter, bet on myself, then beat the crap out of someone to get tokens? That'd be cool."

"Eh, I can help you bet, but I'd rather not fight in that arena. It doesn't play to how I fight."
Not at all, not with it being hand-to-hand. I'd get picked apart, not able to shoot fast enough. Ack.
Klien gave a shrug, his mind in high gear, as he went through several plans in his head- for example, how could he disable the trolls enough so they could escape without doubling their points?

The hooded men looked at the Demoness, but the hood was still hiding the face. "So... You wish to place a bet on yourself? That is not really uncommon, but are you sure?" He asked as he looked at Angena. The tone was still rough though, but Angena finally began to see that the tone was being forced.

"You can go all in, that would the fastest way. But the more you actually bet, the more dangerous it is. More weapons are available and trap will begin to spring with that amount of money on the line." He said as he warned them. He finished his drink and stood up. He walked to the arena as the door closed behind him. Klien observed that the body type of the guy was ... familiar to him. The silhouette of the body and they way he walked... but where?

---------------------------------------

The leader nodded with approval as he then chanted. "May the balance rule over the world" He said as he motioned Amaya to be dismissed.

As she exited the room, Jacks was behind and said "I see that the missions is now yours. Ask me anything that want to know for the mission in hand and I'll provide with the info you need."

----------------------------

The bartender checked the contents of every pot as he looked at the lizard bee. A crooked smile began to appear.

"Say... Were you the one that created all of this honey?"

"Yes.", the lizard said happily. "The other pots you didn't check have wax, seeds, and plants.", his tail was moving much more happily. It was clear the bartender was happy with the honey! He was going to get that drink!... To be honest he wanted it for one reason. It smelled SO familiar to him, like maybe the queen made it! Could of happened too! He has heard stories of the queen's honey being so powerful even if it was used for something simple like a drink it would taste beyond divine.

"I'd rather bet on myself than some other punk who I can't trust to actually win," Angena said, setting her mouth in a firm line as the hooded man walked away. "I mean yeah, it's more dangerous, but this way I get to make more tokens -and- beat the shit out of someone. Seems like a pretty damn good deal to me!" She chuckled. "So, what do you think we should do... Klien?" Angena asked, looking up at him for confirmation. "Think it's a good idea? Yer the thinker..." She smiled ruefully. It was unlike her to ask what someone else thought... Interesting.
