Klien, for his part, wasn't quite able to sleep- the messing with time had also messed with his internal clock something nasty, so he ended up just refining what he had already built on the submarine- making it better, testing it, making sure it wouldn't break at depth, after all. He tried to not make much noise, thankfully.

He saw Angena twisting and turning, but didn't want to wake her up- she needed her sleep, at least. Sleep, that always essential ingredient to a good day afterwards, after all.

And so he kept on working, knowing that he could probably nap later if he needed to, at least till he saw her get up, before sitting next to the water.
Huh. . . she couldn't sleep either.
He finished what he was doing, and sat down next to her, without a word.

"...Hey..." Angena said after a few moments, still staring up at the starry sky. The air was fresh and pure, and the scene was calm, water lapping against the edge of the dock. She looked over at Klien, forcing a smile. Her eyes, however, showed her weariness. Her sleep had been uneasy, and her soul was still in a state of distress from the conflict within it. Klien had spent most of the night working, she remembered... He had made great progress with his submarine, which he planned on diving down into the depths of the ocean with. She wondered who he would take with him... Angena wouldn't have ever trusted anyone enough to get in a small ship under great amounts of water, but, Klien was a special case. If he asked her, she would be in that submarine in under a second...

This, of course, added to the conflict within her mind. As much as she hated to say it... She wasn't in control of herself anymore, not entirely. If Klien asked for something, she would almost certainly drop everything to get it for him. If he disliked her, or was separated from her, she'd feel terrible. Even when he was busy, and she was alone, her thoughts kept drifting over to him... And her heart rate would increase, followed by a rush of energy. If he was put in danger, she would fight to save him, even if she ended up getting hurt herself in the process. This realization was clear, and unchangeable... and it still unsettled Angena. This feeling... what was it? It was unlike anything else she had ever experienced.

"Y-You... stayed up working all night, right...?" Angena said softly, turning back to the sky in an attempt to hide her unease. "I-It's... going to be one hell of a ship, I know..." Why... couldn't she speak correctly? She was fumbling over her words helplessly, and despite her best efforts, she felt too flustered to right her speech.

"Yeah. . . it'll be a good ship. Don't know what I'll use it for after getting the tool, though- its pretty darn specialized." Klien said slowly, noticing her slightly akward speech. He didn't want to talk too much, just glad he could sit next to her, gazing at the stars. It was. . . very, very nice to just sit like this, not saying anything, but knowing that she was right there, watching the sky along with him. A feeling that he couldn't quite describe- other than it was pleasant. He just sat, for probably twenty minutes, content.

I wonder, what shall I name the ship. . . I don't know what I'll name it. . . hummm.

"You know. . . can you name the ship? I don't know what to call it, myself." He seemed very sheepish, and shy, saying it. A side of him that she hadn't seen before.

"Name it?" Angena repeated, looking over at the half-built craft. She supposed that made sense... Every old ship she had seen on her Wasteland's coast had been possessed of a regal name, painted on the side. Often times the paint was cracked and chipped, and too faded to make out. And usually, she couldn't understand the words anyways. But this time, she could actually help name one herself... She started to think over the possibilities, smiling softly at Klien. He looked unsure, and hesitant... it was oddly appealing, and she returned the behavior, looking quite uncharacteristically nervous. Klien looked quite attractive, in the soft light of the stars. He wasn't the strongest, or bulkiest, and he was really pale and gaunt, but... for some reason, she didn't care. She found herself appreciating his features more and more with each passing day.

After a few moments, she finally said, "How about... the Progress." She tilted her head back, looking up at the stars. "For, it will be the vessel we used to progress in our journey... but at the same time, progress is our end goal. For Science, Magic... even Nature, must move forward, free from the grapple-hold Jacks has on it. And... maybe... we'll progress more as people, as we go along..." She fell quiet, as she thought on her own words. Was the change that was happening within her... progression? She felt unstable and unsure, but... looking into the horizon, her prospects were better than they ever had been before. She had a chance at a new life, in a new world, with people she liked... maybe even...

She seemed lost in thought, looking up at the slowly brightening sky.

"Yeah. . . Progress, a wonderful name." He spoke softly, just looking at the sky as well.
Progressing as people. . . I have to say, that is the most appealing thing. Being with her, all the time. I can't wait.

I turned, smiling as I looked at her again- it never got old. She was always as gorgeous as ever. And once you got past the outer shell, she was very sweet, too. From the top of her horns, to the tip of her toes, she was the very picture of feminimity. . . well, once you got past the outer shell. I guess the others just didn't see it. Their loss.

He turned back, looking at the stars and the sky, staying right where he was. Where he should be, next to Angena.

"Master?"

Amaya said quickly catching on to the fear that was apparent in his face and she frowned as she continued.

The master looked nervous... as suddenly he coughed up blood. He was thrown to his knees as he then said "Jacks.... came with... UGH!" He said as he then levitated on the air, with his hands on his throat. He kicked a figure and then screamed. He began to run as he just appeared to run into place.

"AMAYA! AVOID ALL CONTACT WITH THE GUILD! WE HAVE TRAITORS! JUST-...!" He said as he just then opened his eyes wide... and a blood torrent came out of the chest. He then just came down limpless... And the girl appeared in front of her eyes. And she just collapsed.

She was dead.

And Jacks was partially responsible.

---------------------------------------------------------

And with the many events.... the night came. No one on the group did really sleep. Why would they? They knew that the Hunters were on the loose. Commitments and feelings were thought.... despair, hope, happiness... sadness. Fenrik looked at the group as all of the Protectors gathered around.

"Looking at this generation... They might be able to do it... " Samael said as he looked at the group.

"I don't think so. Angena perhaps... but Klien is not ready. He has determination of a scientist... But I fear that he just... doesn't have sight. The sight or the eagerness. He just... stands in time." Mana sighed as she looked at the submarine. "Don't get me wrong, he could get the tool... But if he doesn't change his mindset, he might never be able use it."

Fenrik looked at the group as he then said "Even if only Angena can use her tool... we must place the fate of the world on her hands. But... if not... The cycle will have to repeat. And we will just have to pray... that the Hunters do not find us."

"If they do... "

They remained silent as they just split....

But... the break of the new dawn came fast... and so did the supplies that Klien needed were delivered without problems. Now it was time to finish the submarine and make a plan for the search.

Samael could be useful as he was a Water mage, he could control the water pressure to some extent, and prevent leakages if that were to happen by any chance. But if that were to happen, they would need to drop the search and go to the surface as FAST as they could.

Mia could avoid attacks on predators, as long she could see them. But... it would only be for a limited time. Freezing time under a constricting space was... stressing.

Fenrik could feel the general direction of the tool, but he could not fight or help in case the ship was to be attacked.

Mana could help to reinforce the metal platings and help direct the torpedos, not to mention she could give emergency repairs with her dual skills.

Amaya can sense living things around her, as a natural part of being an assassin.

Angena could really not help much, as fire was weak against water...

----------------------------

Day came out as Lizard saw Lag meditate... as he just began to emanate wind. All and kind wind. He saw that Bee was up... and he said "Good, your awake."

"I think... it's finally time for us to reunite!" He said as he clapped his hands together stood up.

"To reunite... the battle against Jacks!"

The lizard bee got up slowly, but didn't respond quickly to Lag. He thought a little bit.

"Not yet... we need to think..."

The lizard then sat down.

"We must prepare... I do know that if we cannot prevent it, there will be a huge fight. So we have two options..."

"Prevent the fight, by finding out why Jacks is doing this and 'giving' what he needs to him... Or prepare for the fight, and help heal whatever is hurt or broken in the fight..."

The lizard said as it was clear he was thinking deeply, he silly attitude, his stupid stance, all of it was gone, and replaced with a serious, thinking tone.

"So throughout all of this... does anyone have any idea why Jacks is doing this?"

Amaya was shocked that jacks had been able to do that with her own guild, they had such close kinship to each other it was almost unthinkable this would happen, she sighed and realized that this cleared her doubts on about what to do at least, she went to the girl and closed her eyes with her fingers and said.

"May you rest in peace..."

And then she turned around towards the nearest shadow she could use to transport herself back to the group.

Klien decided to take along Mana and Fenrik- Mana could help in bad situations, while Fenrik was Mister Tooldar.

It didn't take terribly long to set off- Klien giving Angena a hug before he went, having dressed for winter- after all, water gets colder the deeper you go. Thus, even that was a smart move. If a odd one.

I just hope I can get that tool, then get back safetly. Back to my job, without taking too long.

The group finally got divided by two. Amaya, Angena, and the other Protectors were decided to be the Guards while Klien and his party searched for the Tool.

The submarine was ready to go.... and so it went into the depths of the ocean!

As it began to sink deeper and deeper, the sub began to creak more and more... Fenrik was looking and just trying to feel the tool all together. It was getting ... closer.

But... as with the other tools, he couldn't pinpoint the exact location. Nevertheless... They reached the city... of Atlantis!

(Klien sees that the city itself is pretty intact. He saw a great dome as many watchtowers surrounded them, like some sort of goverment building. There seemed to be many houses in the nearby area. There was also a colloseum, a building that seemed to look like a castle.... Where would he try now?)

------------------------------------------

"Well... I don't really know much of the god in question... but...!" He said as he added a smiled and big leaf pod popped out of one of the branches. "I do know a certain retired goddess who can answer that!" He said as he invited Lizard bee to go inside.

They both went in... And they were transported near instantly in front of the Searchers and Protectors, 20 minutes after the dive. The pod was opened as they saw an incoming Party... ready to attack them in full. Lag opened his eyes wide as he then remembered something...

He was seen last time... as an enemy.

... He didn't think this through.

"Humm. This place was built better than I thought it would be." Klien said, mostly to himself, as he almost 'flew' the submarine closer to the buildings. "Just tell me when I'm getting closer to the tool, and when I'm getting further away, Fenrik."
The submarine started to run a grid search pattern, above the buildings- letting Fenrik narrow it down to a general location. Even the most inprecice things could give good results, when used properly. And not having to search the entire city was a good result in Klien's mind.

The lizard bee quickly did something. It might of been odd but it was worth a try.

He pushed Lag over, climbed on top of him and said. "He is no threat now."

To be honest he was unsure if that would work, but then again making him look like a 'pushover' might detour them from attacking...

The fire demoness sat upon the dock, watching the water move calmly back and forth. The blue-green liquid frothed as it gently slapped at the sides of the port, boats in the distance going about their daily rituals of fishing and transporting cargo. Klien had left in his "submarine," which had, of course, flawlessly sank into the water and delved into the depths below. She had faith in his ingenuity in engineering, and held no doubts that he would return triumphantly, Tool in hand. Of course, there was the matter of the Hunters, still about... They would seek Angena, and her Tool, and Klien and his own as well. No doubt they would have to face the Hunters eventually, and do battle against them for the fate of reality. Would the cycle repeat, for yet another generation, or would Angena and her comrades succeed where so many had already failed?

Even though she was the only one currently in direct possession of a Tool, Angena found her thoughts more focused on Klien. What if the Hunters sabotaged his underwater-craft? What if there was a leak, or some irradiated sea monster attacked them? What if the tool's Guardian... killed him? What if she would never see him again? The thoughts raced through her mind, as she clicked her claws against the deck anxiously. This was the first time she had really been separated from Klien... and it was not under pleasant circumstances. He was in danger, and she feared he might not make it. The very idea made her cringe, and made her well up with strange emotions. Why couldn't she stop thinking about it? She felt on edge, but not for herself... not at all. The idea that she might never see Klien again... without even having told him of... how she felt. She had not even told herself how she had felt, for she felt unsure, vulnerable, and confused.

"Is... something troubling you, Amaya?" Angena asked, trying to keep herself occupied by speaking to one of her companions. She noticed the kitsune had stepped away for awhile, and upon returning, Angena could tell by her eyes something was... off. It was still a bit of an unusual thing, however, to hear her actually ask about another's well-being. And it was not Klien's, either... Strangely enough, it was as if she was opening up in general. She wasn't sure how to feel about it, but she couldn't deny she was changing...

With a sudden flash, she saw a pair she had not seen in ages... that odd lizard-bee-thing, sitting atop the troublesome kitsune that had tried to kill them before. She had wondered where he had gotten off too... While she had found him annoying, it was clear enough there was no avoiding that he was important to their goal. The holder of Nature... Perhaps it was her fragile state, but she could not find herself rousing any anger at the lizard bee. If anything, she was a bit... glad, to see he had not been eaten by a bear or something. "...Not a threat anymore?" Her hand burst into flame, as she looked cautiously at Lag. "...Why the sudden change in heart? Err... what was your name again?" She was surprised to see them, certainly, but admittedly it was par for the course, given that they were among the company of a Time Goddess. There were already so many amazing things for her to try to wrap her head around, it tempered her shock in this situation.

Amaya looked at Angena and smiled sadly as she recalled what had happened to her master.

"I found something that made my goals very clear and evidence that that masked fellow is truly someone that wants to disrupt this world for his own sake... it came at a price however..."

The guildmaster had been like a father to her, heck the whole guild was her family and she was worried as all hell about it, first time with the group that she actually shown more emotion then the neutral smirk she always had.
She looked worried and she was clenching one of her arms as she looked into the distance as in thought.

Klien surrounded the entire city from the top with his little handy robotic friend tracking for the Tool. They managed to rule out the living area of the city, but the Colosseum and the government building remained.... And he probably had enough air to actually go and inspect the general area of one of the those areas.

"Where do you think we should go...?"

-------------------------------------------

"Well, my name is Lag, The Kitsune of Nature!" He said as he stepped forward and shook Angenas hand. "And I'm not a threat anymore to you, since I was originally trying to lure and kill Jacks... But... He used a dirty Time trick to bring a soon to be had power of Divinity into you guys!" He said as looked at Angena and added with a sexy growl "Aren't you a sexy thing? Wanna go out together sometime?"

He then noticed Mia ... and he whistled. "Wow... I didn't think... that you guys..." He said as he instantly looked whiter. Both of the woman walked to Lag... And she punched the guy with quick 1 and 2 combo.

The kitsune stumbled... into the ocean as he then emerged sore. "... I see that past feelings is still... among us?"

"OF COURSE THERE IS! YOU DATED US AT THE SAME TIME!" She screamed to him. "MANA AND ME, YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD!"

"... Don't ask." They said to the Searchers. Lag got up as he then asked "Ok... Is the scientist going for the last tool?"

"Yes..." Samael said. "But... we have Hunters on the loose."

"... Oh boy." He said as he looked at the group. "I'm thinking, since Mia is here, that you are all up to speed on all current affairs. We came here to have a little bit of planning, after Klien FINDS his Tool."

"Lets to go the Colosseum, over there." Klien said simply, before turning on the scrubbers- giving them a lot more air-time. (Well, a few hours.) Knowing how things worked was a beautiful thing, it was. He seemed to fly the submarine in lower, to get a better look at this ancient arena. See if there was anything that really stuck out about it. The lights on the sub lit it up as if it was on the surface again, in the noonday sun.
Eerie. Ah well. Probably should find the tool quick as I can, anyway.

"I'm taken, asshole," came the reply from the disgruntled Angena. The fact that the kitsune had come on to her just after arriving didn't put him in good standing with Angena. Then again, if the lizard bee could easily stand on top of him, it was unlikely he was really a threat. No matter how annoying he might be. Looking at Mia, Angena noticed there seemed to be a history between her, Mana, and Lag. It sounded like the kitsune was one sleazy son-of-a-bitch. That being said, now that they knew intimately of Jacks' treachery, the kitsune's previous actions seemed, while perhaps not less stupid... less evil. He was an ally, unified with them against Jacks.

Regardless, Angena would've hit him for his comment, but Mia had already socked him hard. Now that that was over, she wanted to know what he was talking about... the lizard bee had a plan? While she was skeptical, she admitted they needed some sort of focused idea of what they were going to do. So far, they had been focused entirely around retrieving the Tools. But even then, they wouldn't be able to use them... To Angena, the powerful Tool of Magic was little more useful than a normal rock, if she couldn't tap into it. How would they take on Jacks? What about the Hunters, tracking them down at this very moment? If they could access the power of the Tools, they could probably easily deal with the Hunters, and have an actual shot against Jacks. Without the power, however, Angena felt vulnerable compared to what she had seen Jacks do thus far.

"What sort of plan? Hell knows we need one..." Angena asked.

The lizard was going to start saying stuff, but he was... having stage fright of some sort due to more people here...

"Alright... For starters we need to figure out why in the hell Jacks is doing all of this. This is very important. We need to figure out what Jacks wants or desires that he could not get from his Time powers. Now, I'm thinking since he is tr- gotten the Soul Tool I think, its my guess that he lost someone, or is doing something along those lines... and if that is true there are 3 steps he is going to do..."

The lizard got up, rubbing his head a bit, all this thinking was HURTING.

"The tree... three steps are, Revenge, Get, and Life... Good chance what he wants, is being held by someone, or made harder to get by someone, so he is going to take revenge... We need to avoid this step as we are close as hell to it... and it most likely will end in a fight..."

The lizard's tail moved a little bit as he talked...

"Get, is what happens afterwards. He gets the item... or thing he wants... hopefully. It can be a rock for all I know, or acceptance of something for all I know... We need THIS step to happen first... so the revenge step never happens..."

"Then Life. What happens after all this happens... All we need to do is simply... Move one step so that it happens first... and to do this..."

The lizard held his stomach a bit... it hurt... then he realized due to all this hard thinking he has not eaten or even drank anything in a while...

"We need to simply find what Jacks wants... or in his mind... needs..."

The lizard rubbed his head some more, and wandered off to get something to drink or eat...

"What Jacks wants..." Angena said, nodding slowly. "...I guess I haven't really thought about it too much." She looked up at the clouds in the sky, pondering this. "You're right... He's gotta have some reason for keeping up this charade generation after generation... finding the Tools, then destroying them, then doing the same damn thing next time they're recreated..." Immortality was the obvious reason, but for some reason, Angena started to doubt that's what Jacks really wanted. What did he have to gain, from prolonging his life? Each of his friends would perish, generation after generation, and his own powers of Time would be confined, unable to let the world grow and change as the Tool longed. Now that she thought about... immortality sounded... draining. She would never die on purpose, but after centuries, she thought Jacks would have tired of this constant struggle.

So... what did he want? Was immortality really his goal, or just a mere side-effect of his real mission?

His actions were focused around the singular theme of perpetuating the current state of time. By finding and destroying the Tools, he not only increased his lifespan, but also removed the potential for growth and change in the world. She hadn't been here too long, but compared to her own world, the technology and magic was rather minor. Archmages in Angena's homeland were said to be able to weave great firestorms, and the civilizations of her world's past had created automated machines capable of both combat and household utility. The lush nature of the world, combined with the great technology and powerful magic had made for a very comfortable lifestyle. This world, however, would never see those things... They would be stuck in the era of steam, never to see the full potential of their land.

...But... wait... her world...?

Her world had been years ahead in technology and magic, with great advancements that gave them immense power. But... what had happened to it? Yeah, her world had a lot of good things, but... It had gotten blown to shit by the very technology it once relied upon. The landscape had been torn and ruined... Nature still grew, but it was warped and dangerous. Mutated beyond recognition, it gave birth to great beasts that hunted down the few remaining people who survived. Technology was still "good," but it had broken the world, and getting the life-saving stuff became more and more difficult. Magic was still there, but its use had largely devolved to finding new ways to blow shit up - usually other people. It was advanced... but was advanced really better?

Angena thought back to her past... being forced to delve into irradiated buildings, fending off various creatures, all just for that single ancient bottle of purified water tucked away in the basement. People roamed about freely, unbound... If you saw someone, it was always best to assume they'd shoot you in the head and take everything you had. Angena had killed in the past, and others had tried to kill her as well. But here... she had not killed. She had fought Guardians, yes, but... Never to the death. Samuel... changed, but he was still alive. She didn't have to worry about raiders around every corner, and bandits thickening the broken streets. Yeah, relatively, all the shit this world has was out of date... but life was so much better.

According to Lag, Jacks had given Klien and the lizard bee god-like powers briefly by looking forward into the future and bringing it to the present. Did that mean he could see the possible outcomes of reality itself, if it continued upon its current "rightful" path? What if, Angena wondered, Jacks had been in her own world... What if he had kept the world from developing nuclear weapons, which would ultimately lead to the entire planet's demise. What if, by looking through time... he knew something they did not. Mia said the Tools required change... but... what did that really mean? If someone died, that was a change... If a city was wiped off the map by an explosion, that was also a change, just as much as new life-saving medical treatments. The Tools wanted to create, wanted change... but what were they really? They had minds of their own, and who knew what they really desired. Desiring "change" left a lot of room open for interpretation. Angena took out her own Tool, turning it over in her hands.

"...What if Jacks knows something we don't, about the future?" Angena asked. "What if he can see the signs of... some really bad shit, that's going to go down. I mean..." She looked back at the group. "...My world... is more advanced. Better tech, better magic, all the animals are a lot stronger too, so I guess you could say better Nature..." She looked out at the sea. "...But most of the population has been slaughtered, all major countries have been reduced to little more than frickin' rubble, and the few remaining survivor groups do nothing but fight over what little shit they can get. Maybe... he knows the same thing'll happen to this place." She turned to Mia. "You said the Tools want change... but what kind of change? What if he's trying to keep shit together by not letting anything progress? ...I would've given anything for that to happen to my world. It's a crapsack place." She frowned. "I would rather have tech and whatnot just stay the same, rather than living miserably..."

Amaya facepalmed a bit at Lag's actions and then she continued to listen to all of this with interest, and especially with interest about Angena's world. she came from a world that was way more advanced then the current one Amaya was living in this was indeed a very interesting fact and Angena continued to tell about their ruined cities and decimated population thanks to just the technological supremacy they had.
It made her wonder what that masked fellow really wanted.

Klien observed as they reached the arena. He turned on the searchlights... as they began to see floating corpses. Bones all just... sitting in the arena like if they were going to see a match, a battle. The currents made the bones move like if they were alive, back and forth. A long lost era could be seen here... and the tides of time had yet to appear.

Suddenly... a movement began to register on the scanners. One... 2 objects were moving in the nearby area. They seemed to be in the nearby area. One seemed to be small... but it was close enough to something roughly the size of the sub.

They could research the place, but at the risk of being caught with whatever the radars caught. Or they could just try to avoid the place all together. They could also try and look for the creatures themselves, to have a better idea of what they are up to against under water.

All was for the sake of information.

------------------------------------------

Mia looked at Angena... and just sighed. She walked to the group as then said "Ok... Let me explain how a Time Stream can work" She said as she yawned.

"Imagine you have are in a maze. A big maze and you are RIGHT in the middle." She said as looked at the sky. Her eyes were nostalgic... as if the same explanation she was giving she had given it time and time again. "And the maze changes over and over again. That is the future. One can think that you can see right to the end of it... but a simple choice, mistake or action can change the whole world. A simple murder can plunge the world into a world global turmoil. A single bomb can strike fear into the world..."

She said as she looked at them. "Jacks maybe is trying to stop a future that he has seen... but that future could or could not exist." She said as she looked at them "I might even have seen it too, but I give choices a different meaning." She said with a smile.

"But... you are right though, in one aspect. You need to be wary of the Tools and their... intention. They may want change, but they might as well want destruction. The Tools are not saints... they are demons born of a will to create. The Gods exist... so they don't go rampant."

"Gods are to maintain their will to wield... the tool in hand" She said as she looked at her mask, and just stared.

"Now though... What are your plans if you do encounter Jacks though?"

The Tools were definitely sentient, holding a power all their own... Angena looked down at the stone within her palm. It was hard to think of it as a real being, with unimaginable strength. It was such a small thing, but capable of so much. A malicious spirit of change, uncaring if its wrought changes brought joy or merciless destruction. The Gods were meant to control the Tools, temper their rampant will for chaos. Angena wondered if she had the strength of mind and spirit to keep a tight hold on the Tool's power. She supposed she didn't really have a choice... Even if she wanted to preserve the world's state, and keep it trapped in this limbo devoid of progress... It would be bad for the world all the same. But things did not have to end up like they did in her home world. It was on her and the other Tool holders to make sure that did not happen.

Mia spoke as if she had given her explanation of the labyrinth of time thousands of times before. Likely, she had... Angena imagined it was probably a pretty common question. So Jacks could have seen something in the future, but there was no telling if it would even come to pass at all. Angena supposed that made sense... perhaps he was simply a pessimist about it. Or perhaps she was entirely wrong, and the lizard bee's theory was more correct. Or perhaps it was some blending of the two... Angena didn't know; She couldn't without more information. Heh... Funnily enough, even though she used to revile scientists... she could really use one's reasoning right now. If only Klien was here...

"If we actually meet Jacks, it's unlikely he's just going to let us go," Angena said, looking up. "If he's already sent the Hunters out, he has no intention of keeping us around. In fact, if we're unlikely, we may have to deal with the hunters and the big guy himself all at once. If a fight breaks out... Well..." She frowned. "Mia's the only Divine we have on our side. I have my Tool, and Klien'll probably get his... did you get yours?" She turned to the lizard bee, a question on her face. They had been separated for a good while, after all. "And if so... did you... activate it? My Tool is dormant, unwilling to acknowledge me... Without the powers the Tools grant, at least for one of us, we'll probably get pretty screwed in a fight with Jacks..." She looked back down at her Tool. What was she missing? What was the final piece she needed? Magic... and emotion...

"Hummm. We aren't alone down here. Probably just fish." Klien said mostly to himself, as he piloted the sub around. The scene in the arena was quite creepy, one that would be shown as if everything had flooded within minutes. No time for anyone to get away.
He piloted the sub towards the small object- careful to listen to it. Did it sound like it had a propeller?
"Mana, can you send a torpedo at the big thing, to use it's camera to look at the larger object? Probably just a whale, but I want to be sure."
He made sure that the rocket rack was ready to be extended, ready for deployment. Just in Case.

The lizard stopped and realized that someone was talking to him, and looked at them.

"Well I thought about many things, and I think one that keeps coming up is the best option."

He then continued his search for something to eat/drink as he talked.

"It's simple really. One of us teams up with Jacks. That way we can see what the hell he wants to do, and figure out who is the 'evil guy' in this silly world we are in."

"And I'm for all intents and purposes a normal mortal. I may have a few tricks up my sleeve that can help us if we have to fight the big guy himself, he can control time right or at least parts of it since if so it is problematic."

Amaya said and sighed a bit as she was running trough many scenarios in her head and most of them turned out bad, she hoped they could turn this whole thing around since well it was a bad spot they were in and she really wondered what her clan had gotten itself into.

"Right oh' Captain!!" She said as she took the controls of the torpedos and fired a single torpedo. Klien began to get closer to the signal. 100 meters.... 50....

25....

10....

3 meters.

And right in front of them.... A metallic fish, as big as medium sized salmon, was dancing in front of them. A golden metal, greened eyed fish.

"Receiving incoming-... Oh... god..." She said as she looked confused. There, in the screen, was what it looked like a... another submarine? No... this submarine looked different. It was looked to be shaped after a ....

Shark. And it definelty moved like one. A really living one.

The video link was broken, the shockwave was felt, and there, in middle of the water, a roar that penetrated the hull could be heard. Mana looked at the screen of the radar and said "Signal is still at large, but beginning to move. Doesn't seem they know that we're here. Orders?" She said as she looked at Klien.

Would he try to kill the Machinery... or just leave and analize what he just saw? He saw two metallic creatures, so reason told that there could be more. But... they acted as animals too.

What to do?

-----------------------------------------------------

"... Hoo boy....." She said as she looked at them and said "What you do to Jacks is up to you." She said as she began to walk away.

Lag walked in as he then said "To answer your question Angena, no one of you have released the tools. So... for now, we're on that little detail. Only when one of you release the tool... we can finally think on taking down Jacks, if that is what you want."

Afternoon was getting in as they lights began to dim and the world looked... fine. Nothing happened through out the whole day.

Strange. To feel calm and be hesitant.

Nodding, Angena sighed. So the lizard bee had not yet activated his Tool either... which meant the odds of them actually beating Jacks were miniscule. All of their theorizing was worthless if they did not have the firepower necessary to actually defeat him. The lizard bee suggested one of them try to work for the guy as a double agent... she didn't know how that would work, since he had already sent assassins to kill them. It was likely too dangerous for him to let any of the Tool-bearers live, lest they unlock their Tool and are granted the strength to stand against him. Angena didn't know what the hell to do.... How could she activate the damned thing? What was she missing?

As she looked down at the small, seemingly normal stone within her palm, her thoughts started to stray. Was Klien okay? Surely he would return soon, with his Tool in hand... right? He had only been gone a short while, but worry was starting to creep into her mind at a startling rate. If the Hunters somehow got to him, while he was underneath the sea... or he failed a challenge against the Tool's guardian... would he be alright? What if she never saw him again? Admittedly, she was likely more at risk at the moment - they knew the Hunters were searching for them, and she already had her Tool, and was standing in a relatively conspicuous above-water area. But all the same, she actually found... she didn't really care what happened to her. The selfish demoness was fraught with worry... but for her allies, not herself.

As she brooded, she realized something... peculiar. Something she had not noticed before, at least not in this situation. Magic welled up within her... She felt as if she could call it to her hands in an instant, if she so desired. She might even do so without intending to at all. Such a thing was not uncommon when she was angry... She had, on more than one occasion, accidentally burned down buildings just because she was really pissed off. When she got angry, she got better at blowing shit up... whether she intended to or not. But why... was the magic invigorating her now? It was a similar spectacle happening within her, but notably different. She was not angry... at all. She was worried, but why was she worried? She felt that was the answer she sought...

Magic was clearly tied to her emotional state, in some way or another. It always had been. Her very first firestorm had roasted her would-be rapists, for example... She couldn't remember a time she had been truly angry where she had not felt magic well up inside her, close to the surface, aching for release. She came to associate the thrill of using magic with the adrenaline of battle, and the hatred it brought... but now, she was starting to realize magic was so much more than that. She had seen things, magicians, on their travels... Some cared not for destruction, nor bore hatred towards their fellow men. No, many used it for wonderful things... beautiful displays, life-saving miracles... Magic could be a weapon - and indeed, anger was a part of magic... but it wasn't the only part, was it?

She only drew magic previously when in a rage. She did not simply "conjure" up her flames from a dull, flat state. There was always a purpose behind it, a drive. And so the same was with other magicians... Be it a rush of joy at being able to entertain a loving audience, or a touch of sadness as they sang a mournful tune of bewitching notes. The maker of the clothing that she had been given, which improved her magic... He was obviously driven by emotion too. He became excited - ecstatic, even, about his work. He... loved it, really. Was it from this love that he crafted such magical items, just as she crafted great firestorms from her anger?

Was she... rejecting her own potential? Did she have hidden reserves of magical strength she had been shunning all this time?

Because now, as she thought of Klien, but also Amaya... Samuel... even Fenrik... she wanted them all to be safe. She had grown... fond, of them. And just as anger had kindled her magic, she felt it in her emotions now. She had always cursed terms like "love" and "joy," turning her nose up at them as concepts that the weak clung to. But now... she realized she had been the weak one, all this time. By embracing exclusively her inner hatred, she limited her magical skill... but also her growth as a person. Even with the great stress they were under... Angena had to admit she had never been happier before in her life. Had she been blinded to the truth this entire time... had she wasted years of her life, only focusing on the more primitive, destructive emotions of her heart?

Magic and emotion... the two were connected, practically synonymous. She had felt wavering, and unstable, and still unable to accept who she was becoming... But the changes that were happening to her were undoubtedly good. She was undergoing a metamorphosis, but part of her still fought to cling to the old hardened shell she had grown so fond of. But... all caterpillars must one day learn to fly. And so the same... She had to come to terms with herself, and who she really was. She had spent her life judging others harshly... but she had judged herself the hardest of all. Now, she had felt love... yes, that was what it was. And it was... glorious.

"...Well, whatever happens..." she said, shifting her eyes to the side hesitantly. Her heart beat quickly, and she already felt embarrassed... but she forced herself to continue. If not for herself, then for the others... her abilities would remain stagnant so long as her character did. "...It's... been one hell of a ride with you guys. I..." She bit her lip for a moment. "...I love you jokers, and hope we all get through this shit alive. We can take on Jacks, I know we can..." She smiled sheepishly. But... there was still one person she had to talk to - had to tell. Klien... He had to stay alive...

Suddenly, the gems on Samuels Head as well as the stone that Angena had stored in the herself both began to shine. The stone began to react as then they began to... change in mid air, the crystal melted and reshaped....

And it went straight for Angenas power fist. The metallic fist changed to a golden gauntlet, adorned with gems, crystal bearings and a central gem, a deep red crimson ruby was in the middle.

All the elements began to flow out of the fingertips, as the power began to go in and out. The water began to stir, the clouds darkened and the world seemed to... stop.

Mia and all of the Protectors looked at Samuel, as he now was fitted in red armor, resembling a dragon armor (Let's go for a dragoon)

"The.... Tool has chosen a bearer!" Mia said in disbelief at the new gauntlet.

Finally, the first one to be able to change destiny had arrived!

----------------------------------------

What you now possess is the Gauntlet of Elements, a Tool refined with Angenas spirit. Each emotion will link and create a new element.

Anger: Fire
Calm: Water
Fear: Earth
Happy: Wind

This also includes the fact that she can now cast stronger magic, as in do a FIRE TORNADO in the FACE. Or something of the sort. Now that you unlocked the power, let's see what you can do!

Congrats Lifon!

"Mana, you have control of the rocket rack, use it if they get too close. With them not knowing where we are, then we are safe-ish, for now. Gotta get outta this together, but I'm not sure if we can destroy them." Klien thought, for a few more moments. "With them thinking like animals, perhaps we just have to make them think we are too much trouble to be worth attacking. So, be ready for a full on defense. Fenrik. . . hmm. Can you sense the tool at all, little feelings? It could help a lot, at this point." He didn't even look up from his display, as he searched the stadium for the Tool. Anything, something, out of place. Well, something that was out of place, that wasn't them in the Progress.
