The vehicle resembled nothing else Jenneire had seen before; the design was unique. Two pairs of wheel--one at the front, the other at the rear-- provided the mobility. A single side-door led inside. A couple petals, three seats, and a steering wheel filled the insides, and a small window on the front and two mirrors to the side allowed sight--minimal at that. Bolted steel--rare in that day--plastered the shell of the vehicle. Most of the armor lay flat, but the frontal owned a strange curvature. A metal box on wheels is pretty much what she saw.

Kerzn returned only a few minutes later. He carried two fully-modified rifles and ammo for them, a sword, and a box of rations. He opened a small compartment on the back and placed the rations and ammo inside. Although, the rifles were too long to fit. "Can you carry these for me?" Kerzn handed Jenneire the weapons before pulling a key out of his pocket. Entering the middle seat of the cart, he put the key into a slot, and suddenly the vehicle turned on. "Let's roll."

She grabbed the rifles, holding them tightly as she sat down in the vehicle.
Well. . . this is certainly flashy.

Kerzn pushed down on a single petal and grabbed the steering wheel. Quickly, the vehicle pushed forward and turned with the wheel. A strange, yet innovative idea for the swords and magic world of Geene. The vehicle eventually reached one of the gates. Kerzn held a short conversation with the guard there, but he did not waste time. Soon enough, they were outside of Hadred rolling down the path away from the Human city. "So far so good..." Kerzn said with some edge in his voice.

"Yeah. . . so far so good. Lets just get as far as we can away?" she asks, seeming to settle into her chair, but keeping a watchful eye out through the windows.
Amazing contraption. . . just glad it isn't trying to kill anything.

"Yeah. I don't know how far we can get..." Kerzn put the petal to the floor, causing the cart to nearly triple in speed; although, the vehicle only managed to reach 40 or so miles per hour. At least the decent suspension mitigated the bumpiness. "The cart can't quite move as fast as a train... but it is the next fastest."

"Well, we aren't stuck using rails, are we? So I think its better to use this. . . contraption to get away, because we can actually go somewhere they won't expect." Jen said a bit cheerfully, as if trying to convince herself as well.

"Hm... that is a point." Kerzn cracked a light smile. "We don't have much in the line of fuel either, but we can't keep this for long anyways." He seemed strangely positive.

"I'm not sure." Kerzn took a turn off the main path. "I'll let you know when we get there." He turned to her for a second. "Jenneire, where was your village?"

"Pretty darn far from here." she admitted.
"But it was completely destroyed in the attack, I know that much." Jen sighed, looking down at her lap.

"Hm... all right. I guess that destroys our chances of returning." Kerzn wondered about where to go next. He followed the path and crossed a river by bridge. "Let's just go as far as we can, then..."

They chugged along for the next forty or so minutes. Eventually, the road ended and a worn trail marked the way. Kerzn slowed down as they went on. "I don't think we can go much farther... let's stop here." He took one of the rifles carefully. "I know what to do with this..." He exited the cart. "Grab the stuff out of the trunk."

Jen sighed, disembarking and grabbing their things, a rifle slung over her shoulder. She seemed rather loaded down.
"Alright, you know where to go more than I do."

"Actually, no I don't..." Kerzn frowned nervously and then chuckled. "I have no idea where we are... the entire environment is different from a week ago." He stepped in front of the cart and focused. The earth started to extend. In a minute, the ground completely covered up the vehicle. The large lump in the ground stood out, but the possibility of digging it out was low. "There. If we need it later, we can expect it to be in the same place." Kerzn took the case of rations off of Jenneire's hands. "Let's go." He strode towards an open field.

Kerzn led her directly through the field. Several minutes later, they found a fair-sized dip in the flat terrain. "This looks like a good place..." He plopped down into the trench and rested the gun and food on the ground. "Dry ground and clear of grass..." The sniper noted the details of the ground. "We can camp here for the night so we get the bearings of our surroundings. No guarantee we'll find another hideout."

"True that. But we should keep moving, regardless." she grumbles, sitting down next to him and starting to rub her feet, she wasn't used to quite so much walking, but she knew better than to mention it.

"We should get firewood for the night." Kerzn grabbed his rifles and a clip of ammo. "Use the other one to protect yourself from anything threatening." He climbed up the side. "And keep quiet... we don't want to be found out this soon." What he meant by "this soon," no one could tell. Maybe he had something planned.

She nodded, grabbing a couple clips of ammo as well, and her rifle. She headed out with him, trying to not make too much noise.

In their travels, they could not find any forestry for miles. The area was one giant plane. Along the way, they found a good portion of shrubs and small pieces of wood for kindling, but no major fuel pieces. More than thirty minutes later, they found a pile of rotten wood hanging around. The nearby stumps helped explained where the wood came from. Kerzn slung the rifle over his shoulder and picked up a large amount of the firewood. "Pick up what you can... don't worry too much if you can only take a little."

They soon return to the ditch. Kerzn piled the wood on a grassy area inside the trench. "Put the wood down here." A warm breeze drifted through. Kerzn took a seat against the wall, pulling out a ration. "We should rest for awhile and eat. We haven't had anything since yesterday and we'll need to keep out strength up."

"I've traveled before." Jen says, looking like he had just pointed out the obvious, as she started to munch down a little on her food.

"I see." Kerzn nodded slowly. His eyes gazed upon the ground in front of him. Something sat upon the edge of his mind, and Jenneire could see that. "I'm going to look around." He finished off his food and stood up. "Stay here."

A few hours passed without any signs of Kerzn. Eventually he came back, appearing just as bothered as he was before. He sat down in the ditch. "There is a human village not too far from here. If we go North, we can avoid them all-together... and possibly enter Dragon territory. That's safer than here."

"True, true. Food?" she asked, holding out some to him, not wanting either of them to starve. In any case, they could hunt with the rifles for meat, and scavenge for berries and things if they needed to, even if it did increase their time spent traveling.
