I need to act. Light thought I need to do something... A friend needs us... She is in severe danger and we can help her... That's right... We CAN help her... There's something we can do here... There's always... his fist tightened, a righteous determination showing on his face "there is always hope!" he exclaimed.

Light closed his eyes and got to work, mentally manifesting his chosen element within the monster's mind prison. The connections between its captors grew cold and brittle, weakened by his icy control while he added his own layer of frozen protection to Jenoth's remaining existence "Hang on Jenoth! We're coming!" he yelled.

Naum saw all of the ice-chunks as if they were in slow motion, her head spinning- he had simply thrown off their attacks like it was nothing, even after the ship started to take on water. . . what chance did they have?
Gah, I can't let myself be killed, not after going so far!
She seemed to shimmer, heat once again enveloping her form, the ice shards simply melting into steam upon contact, as she. . . seemed to sink into the deck? A cloud of steam covered where she had been, as she melted down through the deck, to try and get the jump on this water-working man. She kept the heat close, to render herself immune to any real attacks with water- burning things along the way. It was easy, her anger over him seemingly casually throwing their attacks to the winds driving her onwards.

Naum's heat wave propelled a distance beyond her expectations. Without burning any person, she destroyed almost every single ice bullet, protecting Gwen in the process. In addition, much of the water covering the ship evaporated, so Naum's progress into the ship went smoothly. A large hole formed where Naum entered; moreover, without any water protection, Gwen's air lance pierced through easily. Eventually, both ladies caused ruptures in the bottom of the ship, letting on further water, and nothing stopped them.

Heinmir preoccupied the captain single-handedly. The arrows worked better than a charm, for the man summoned a water sphere. The water practically ate the arrows. The spear-arrow zoomed by with no contestation. The spear hit the water and lost much momentum; however, the air blast pushed the weapon all the way through. In a matter of seconds, the water barrier fell and revealed an injured man. The weapon pierced the captain's right shoulder. With fair ease, the human pulled out the weapon, but blood rushed out from his nasty wound. "Leave... my ship," he stated in anger. "You have ruined it!" A lash of water took Heinmir by the foot--one might think the captain would grow an imagination by now--and pulled Heinmir off balance. Interestingly, blood moved through the water.

While Heinmir struggled to release himself, the captain shifted his attention to below deck, jumping down. Covering himself in armor-like water, he dove upon Naum. Her heat began to evaporate the water, but she could not burn the man easily. The sudden weight shoved the Kitsune downward, and, before Naum knew what hit her, the man leaped off. Using the water that filled the ship, he dumped thousands of pounds of water upon Naum. Fortunately, most of that turned to steam, but all of Naum's heat had dissipated. Moreover, enough water survived to knock Naum into the water below. Taking to gravity, the captain fell into the depths with the fire-wielder. He used continual surprise to stun Naum. The next surprise happened to be more water. This time, on the other hand, the liquid entered into Naum's mouth and nose down to her lungs. Natural heat evaporated the water; however, the steam condensed on the inside almost instantly. At the same time, a strong current shoved her deeper into the depths. As if everything already didn't count against her, the massive sea stopped her heat from having much affect. Little could be done.

Back on the ship, Heinmir and Gwen noticed the ship fully dipping into the water. Maybe thirty seconds longer would pass before the ship ended up completely submerged. Because of the previous attack, Heinmir lost all track of Naum and the captain, but Gwen knew full well where both resided. At that, she realized how badly the captain struck Naum. Even if Gwen could stop the captain's attacks, the water would still kill Naum.

Hah, you dare resist me! You can't stop God! The being possessing Jenoth scoffed mightily. The thing fell silent when the combined efforts of the four started. Jenoth's sparkle of existence remained, for the triple defense seemed to work. "God" tried to break into the shell, but could not. Sadly, the defense did not damage this being. A stalemate, it seemed. Then Ignaz hit.

For the mental distractions, the series of attacks struck easily. Three punches smacked Jenoth upside the head, followed by a powerful kick. The strikes sent Jenoth off balance. The ending hits to the leg knocked the Dragon to the ground, when her head smashed into the ground. In the process, pain spiked, Jenoth's miniscule life brightened. Agony seemed to wake her, and, at that, distracted the overlord from absorbing Jenoth.

At that time, the overlord shifted attention to the physical realm. Jenoth stood up and faced Ignaz. This time, she blocked the next punch and gripped his fist. "You're a nuisance," The voice firmly stated. She reeled her arm around and walloped Ignaz in the face. The strike contained a mix of earth and wind power, so the impact hit hard and quickly. Ignaz flew backwards several feet, while the beast shifted her gaze to the others. "You defy destiny, yet you are powerless to stop it! Jenoth is mine--destiny chose--so leave us alone!" A black mist formed below Lag and Ignaz, a hole appeared below Light, a water puddle sprouted under Kutask, and a windy gust smashed into Yeria. The mist swallowed Lag and Ignaz whole and the air tossed Yeria away, disappearing into the distance. Kutask began to sink into the water; however, his body refused to enter completely. Light experienced the same with the earthen hole. The heavy connection between Jenoth and Kutask prevented the sliver for getting distanced, but what stopped Light?

"What?" The Overlord stood back. "How do you... I am the master of Emotion! You have not the power to stop me!" Even with Yeria gone, her addition to the defense remained; furthermore, Ignaz's strikes caused a chain-reaction. Jenoth's sparkle began to grow--her consciousness was awakening. "I'll just crush you!" A wave of earth dashed over the ground towards Kutask and Light. Regardless what happened to the others, they needed to focus on the matter at hand. Jenoth could be saved!

~~~~~
(Still Group 1)
Ignaz and Lag found themselves in an unfamiliar area. Arid, hill-strewn land surrounded them on all sides, and, more so, they found themselves falling down into this area. That black mist must have spewed them into a different area. Moments after "teleporting," a yellow object darted through the air and smashed into the falling Ignaz. Upon impact, the shadow noticed Yeria was that yellow object, and, now three of them plummeted to the ground. Fortunately, their elements worked normally; unfortunately, all connection to Kutask, Jenoth, and the others ended. In fact, Ignaz, Lag, and Yeria saw none but themselves in the vicinity. It seemed that they could no longer assist Jenoth.
Sometimes I wish I could lose everything, so I relate to those who have.
Gwen cursed and forced a powerfull column of air through the water down to where the Captian was, the air moving rapidly, pulling towards the surface.
Taken by surprise by the captain's water leash, Heinmir got thrown against the deck once more and struggled against the water that held him down. Immediately he summoned two swords that hung by themselves in the air and struck each other with the force of two fully grown men, creating sparks as they they hit each other.
Quickly grasping the sparks with his power he managed to create fire around his hands and fed the flames with more magic to make them stronger and warmer. Within seconds the heat from the flames caused the armor on his arms to glow brightly red, he bent down towards his feet and grabbed the watery leash that held his feet, water turned into steam from the intense heat that spread from his hands and as soon as the leash burst he threw himself up to his feet and jumped as high into the air as he could. He whipped his arms out just as a pair of metallic wings formed on the arms of his armor and by creating an updraft of air he soared upwards away from the ship.
"Damn! where did that captain go?" He muttered lowly to himself as he looked down on the deck and tried to spot the captain who controlled this ship. The fire still burned strongly around his hands and arms and with gritted teeth and anger swelling inside his chest he clenched his fists tightly and brought his arms down with great force, throwing him even higher into the air.
(group 2)
"I'll burn your ship to ashes!" he yelled and brought both hands above his head, the flames suddenly burst upwards like a giant pyre and shifted from a bright orange to a glowing blue that made the air around him shimmer with heat. As he brought his hands down towards the boat he unleashed a loud cry of anger and let the flames go. From his hands, a giant stream of flames shot down towards the ship like a waterfall of fiery doom. As the flames hit the water covered deck it caused an pressured explosion when the water suddenly vaporized under the intense heat and pushed the ship further under water while making anything flammable catch aflame.
Naum was stunned by all of this, not even aware of the others as she tried to clear her lungs. The only way she really knew how, with them flooded like she was, she used her fireproof-ness to her advantage, heating herself up until the water bubbled and boiled, steam shooting out of her open mouth. It seemed to actually jet her backwards towards the surface, intense heat in her insides, unquenchable, untouchable.
Kutask, worried about his friend Yeria and the two twins but desperate to save the dragon, pours more power into the barrier, and thinks of another concept of earth. He's sort of realized that concepts and creativity are rewarded with this magic, so...
The earth surrounds Jenoth, at least mentally, in a protective skin - but the presence is comforting, not stifling, and grows with her essence. {Light, I'll take defense, you take offense. This so-called god is weak already. We can tear it up if we just work together!} He opens his connection further...
And together, their power grows. Just a bit. Their shared minds can draw on each other for power. It's not a perfect "hive", but it might make do...
Give the PCs plenty of problems, but give them a free hand in how they try to solve them. Use "yes, and", or "yes, but," or "roll the dice." But try to avoid "No." -- The Wyzard, dispensing valuable DM advice
"Ahh!" Light's calm was broken for a moment as the wave of earth charged toward him. He struggled against the ground for a second before he regained his focused composure and formed a large collection of water beneath him, erupting out of the ground and into the air as he heard Kutask speaking to him {Right!} he communicates back as he focuses back on the mental realm and crushes the brittle links together, attempting to shatter them completely.
Yeria flew trough the air a bit surprised but she thought for a little while and formed a cushion of darkness behind her catching her in mid air and she stood there keeping her abilities up and wondering what she should do next to save Jenoth. They needed to sever the hold that the other entity had over her.
She began to explore ways to actually do that. If there even was any ways to do said thing. It looked perhaps a little dark for that.
She lowered herself to the ground and observed as she kept exploring for options to do at this point. She was frowning deeply.
Yeria begins to explore with her mind if she could perhaps find out kutask and help him out. They were doing something that was helping after all.
Despite Naum's best attempts, she could not combat in her anti-element--dark water. While the water did evaporate, more of the liquid took its place, and, her heat propulsion could not compare to the ridiculous current. She plummeted into the depths of water, and her objections made no difference.
In the meantime, Gwen and Heinmir struggled to save her and destroy that ship; however, their attempts failed miserably. Gwen's attack attempted to pull the water up, but Heinmir's attack struck the ship down. Since the captain and Naum swam underneath the ship, the place to upheave water needed to be under the ship, but the flames pummeling prevented any such upheaval. At first, Gwen's whirlwind overpowered the other attack slightly. Then the gunpowder and other explosions went off, pushing the ship completely under the water's surface, and, at that point, Gwen could no longer pull up what she desired to. To boot, the sunken battleship only forced the captain and Naum further down.
Now, the anthropomorph and Durask could no longer help. The sea of decay clouded Gwen's senses, so she could not designate Naum nor the enemy. And, Heinmir lacked the methods of seeing through the water all-together, and having a sinking ship in the way posed further issue. Merely watching, Heinmir's heart whined, and Gwen's mind seared. A genuine care for Naum echoed through Heinmir's body, but, at the same time, a trust contradicted the love. Naum can take care of herself, correct? At this point, she must. Gwen dealt with an similar annoyance except her feeling ate away at her mind. A desire to save Naum consumed every thought of Gwen--even at the cost of her life--furthermore, emotions cluttered her own heart. They were vast and variegated, but, unlike with Heinmir, the mind and heart agreed completely.
As seconds passed by, Naum drifted further into darkness--emptiness. All oxygen escaped her body and her consciousness faded. Her last second of sight showed the captain drawing closer. Finished... or was it?
The cold crept of death surrounded every fiber of this Kitsune. Jerk. He made a mess of everything! A clearly feminine voice complained inside the blackness of Naum's mind. Look at him, dirty, unkempt, are you going to let that imbecile ruin Order? The desires of a clean freak entered into Naum, although the entrance seemed strange and random. The captain happened to be unclean, and, for whatever reason, that pushed Naum into alertness. Her eyes shot open to see the enemy diving at her, but Naum's hands already lifted, sending a water rush into the captain. The opponent's speed ended instantly, giving Naum a few moments. Are you honestly going to let him kill you with your own element? Come on, woman, stand up! Bring everything into the proper organization again. Interestingly, that voice ringing in Naum's head sounded extremely familiar; on the other hand, she did not have time to worry about that. A few other things the fire-wielder noticed included her capability to control the very water that the captain stagnated, the ability to use her fire freely in the water, and the possibility to combine her (now) two elements. Time to wipe the floor with this human.
~~~~~

(Group 1)

To Yeria's dismay, all connection with Jenoth and Kutask ended, and she could do nothing about it. Lag seemed to take a more proper reaction by relaxing. The area displayed overall flat terrain with tall and wide pillar of rock scattered around. What was the point of going there? Well, that question received an answer quickly. A loud rumbling noise started, and dark clouds swirled overhead. Then from the sky a massive creature fell, cratering the ground upon landing. The mere air pushed by this creature blew Yeria off her platform and Lag several feet away.

The being resembled much of what Yeria and Lag had seen before. The size dwarfed the bone dragon that Lag and Light killed, for this stood taller the rock pillars of fifty feet. The body formed completely of bone--as that bone monster Yeria faced--however, this monster owned a clear humanoid shape of two arms, two legs, torso, and head. In addition, a spiked bone tail protruded from the waist--as the fire lizard Lag and Naum faced. White feathery wings stuck out from the back--as the angel that Kutask and Yeria faced--and hawk feet, talons included, allowed the being to stand--as the harpy Gwen faced. The hands owned three fingers and a thumbs, and metal formed the forearms, as opposed bone--as the metal shark Light faced. The mouth resembled a beak, but hundreds of mangled, dreaded teeth stood out--a combination of the dark beast that Heinmir faced and of the bird creature that Lag and Naum faced. A enormous sword sat in one hand--again as that angel--but the other hand wielded a scythe. A ragged rob clothed this thing. These latter two descriptions seem to take steal appearance from the Grim Reaper. Jenoth was killed by a "Grim Reaper..."

The frightful monster moved slowly, causing earthquakes in each step. It had not discovered Yeria and Lag yet... thankfully. Could the two of them even stand a second of a chance against this monster? Even with Ignaz's help... this thing wielded frightful power.

~~~~~
(Still Group 1)
Kutask and Light avoided the earth attack for Light's defense of water. In the meantime, the overlord struggled even more to get back into Jenoth's mind, but the defense of many elements stopped such progress. Moreover, Light's attacks on the already-sustained mental bonds distracted the enemy further. Light could not break them, but the overlord had to exert energy and focus for such. Even so, the effort seemed a little lacking. Jenoth began to awake, but the process worked painstakingly slow. Kutask and Light knew that an extended battle could be the end for them, for their energies--emotion--reserves waned, especially Light's.
You will survive! A random person told Light mentally. As so will, Jenoth. Smack her a few time. Wake her up! The power of earth and the desire to live flooded the Atlantean's entire person. Instantly, he recognized the earthen power of the enemy as identical to his new found abilities. The power of a key resounded in Jenoth, but Light owned it.
Light recalled when Ignaz physically struck the Dragon that Jenoth's sparkle grew. Earth is a great component for physical hits, and Kutask owned an earthen element as well. Mental and physical offense and defense seemed to be the best approach, and this new power given to Light permitted such. The time came to finish the fight and get back their friend!
The crap. . . well. . . when life gives you lemons!
She didn't have much time to think about it, suddenly able to breath the very water as she was, now, and fire (as well as a compressed wall of water clearing the way) shot towards the captain, her tail flicking, a storm of boiling water surrounding her form. She shot forth as if from a gun towards the captain, just behind her balls of combined water-fire energy. They hit him with force enough to shove straight through his watery defences. Which opened the way for the fire part of the equation, as horrible burns covered his body, his very blood boiling. He almost seemed to expand, the skin peeling off as the blood turned into steam.
Well, he was also put out of his misery a couple seconds later, mercifully, but getting burned in half, then just coming apart, leaving nothing behind as Naum smashed through the captain.
"For the love of all that's holy can't we get a freaking break here!?" Lag screamed in disbelief as he stood up and stared at the scythe and said "Great, a freaking shinigami. Just what I needed!"
Ignaz appeared once again as he just sighed. "I agree. The timing of all of this is not casual" He said as he observed the body. "And this particular guy looks like a better version of the Dragon that we couldn't defeat." He added in remorse.
"I don't care! I just want to rest here!" He said as wind began to blow and Ignaz finger tips lit up.
Light had a moment of crystal clarity as the voice reached him and he could feel the power of the earthen key pulsing within Jenoth. He felt power welling within him as the confidence of victory showed on his determined face "LET... HER... GO!" he shouted loudly. He felt his power surge as he crushed in his mental, icy attack and at the same time, caused a large blunt protrusion of earth to shoot out of the ground in the physical realm, ramming upward violently toward Jenoth's body's forehead "NOW!"
Yeria gawked at the large fearsome creature in front of her that luckily hadn't noticed her yet, she felt a shiver down her spine as she was quite scared of this fearsome form. She was quickly thinking of ways to defeat this monstrosity. She tried to utilize her power to actually use it's own shadow offensively, she stretched out with her power and took the darkness from the shadow and formed spikes in it and shot them up towards the monster hoping it would have some kind of effect, otherwise she would have to move quickly away and try everything to bring it down. It was clearly not a nice thing.
Heinmir watched with satisfaction and laughed loudly with sadistic glee when the battle ship exploded beneath him, shrapnel scattered in the bright fiery explosions and rained down on the water like metal drops of water. But his satisfaction was short lived for he suddenly felt a stabbing pain from his heart and instantly knew that Naum was in trouble and needed his help, but at the same time he felt in his gut that Naum would be able to handle this on her own, she was strong, perhaps even stronger than him.
Struggling with his two battling emotions, he's startled by the wind sphere that suddenly appears around him, it took him a moment to recognize Gwen's magical energy circling within the winds and notice that he was being dragged down towards the water by it.
Why are you pulling me down to his domain? Naum can handle this situation, you got to believe in her, not give him hostages to use against her he thought and shot an angry glare at the sea below him and focused on the winds that drew him down, pouring his own wind magic into them to counteract them and stop his descent. It went easier than he thought it would, of course Gwen was stronger than him with wind magic but he possessed more energy than her right now and she didn't focus on holding the spell on him that strongly. The sphere around him disappeared with a loud boom that reminded Heinmir of the sound of thunder in the distance during a rainy night.
(After this post, Groups are no longer valid. So don't bother with them)
(Group 2)
Naum's combined water and fire hits took out the captain easily. The opponent tried to hold his water barrier; however Naum pierced through. His life ended painfully and quickly. At the end of her strikes, a key drifted from above and landed in her hand. This was the key of Dark Water. Power enveloped her, and life reentered her body. She would not become a spirit yet.
Meanwhile, Heinmir and Gwen plummeted towards the dark sea. Heinmir tried to stop Gwen but did not counter her progression until the Gwen's wind barrier touched the water. Then something unexpected occurred, for Heinmir's skin brightened tremendously--to the point where Gwen could see nothing. That light expanded in all directions, latched onto the decay of the sea, and returned life to it. The damage the ship and its captain caused had been undone. The war ended, the world saved, and these accomplished by fighting for victory. The cycle of creation, life, death, and recreation stopped. Life planned to stay around this time. Eventually, the light faded away, but the recovery to the ocean had already finished. Even Naum saw the process at her depth.
Shortly after the three saw their achievement, the space around the shifted. Heinmir vanished from Gwen's sight, and his two elements went with him. Gwen and Naum found themselves in sudden and complete darkness... and the familiar falling sensation touched their skin--material or not. Heinmir met with more a clouded blackness, but he felt as if falling as well.
~~~~~

(Group 1)

Yeria, Ignaz, and Lag quickly discovered that the beast should not be messed with. The spiked strike hit the monster easily... but bounced off harmlessly. The attack came to no effect... until the skeleton turned around and saw Yeria. The beast raised its sword and cut the air. A simply enormous crescent lunged forth. The power of two Winds pushed it forward beyond the speed of sound: Yeria could not blink before the attack hit. In a flash, the slash attack cut a 30 foot (10 meters) gash in the land. The force alone sent Ignaz over a miles (1.5 km); although, Lag could hold his position well for his own wind capabilities. Ignaz crashed into one of the large plateau of rock and created a foot-deep crater (1/3 meters). Thankfully, the impact produced pain alone, instead of serious injury. Unfortunately, the attack left nothing of Yeria to recover. She finally perished completely.

Moment after the destruction transpired, Naum and Gwen feel out of the dark clouds above. On the bright side, a pillar of rock stood directly below Naum to land; on the not-so-bright side, a massive thing stood in the distance and a ridiculous path of destruction lie to its side.

~~~~~
Yeria found herself in emptiness. Seems to be pretty common around those parts. Oh come on! You had to die right before the big finale. The scolding voice of Tros ringed in Yeria's mind. The spirit being flew up to Yeria. I hoped to watch it... but you had to attack first. So, whoever wanted to hit the monster first would die? A horrific sigh. I don't have time to tell you a thing. You need to get back out there... everyone is counting on you. Everything is. Do not let the putrid beast continue its petty existence. I wish I could have realized its evil... then maybe the destruction could have been stopped. No time for regret: Get out there!!! Yeria did not receive the chance to speak, for Tros rushed into her. She gained an ethereal body and the pitch black turned into the barren area of previous. Her immaterial body floated over the gap in the ground.
~~~~~

Light proved himself powerful and intelligent, while Kutask stared dumb-founded. The ice grips in the mental realm kept the overlord at bay, so the small earth pillar hit squarely on Jenoth's forehead. To Light's surprise, the attack pushed Jenoth off her feet and onto the ground quite a distance away. Her mental sparkle grew immensely in the matter of seconds. Rah! You imbeciles, what have you done!? The overlord yelled angrily... through the mental connection of Kutask--not Jenoth's mouth. I will dispose of you at the end. See you soon. A dark entity lifted out of Jenoth and disappeared into the air. Kutask could still see Jenoth in the "bubble" of the overlord's mind; however, the grasps did not reach around Jenoth any longer. Her light recovered as well... among other things.

A loud groan jumped from the Dragon's body. "Uhhh, why does my head hurt so darn much?" Her hand lifted to her swollen head. "Ow... at least it couldn't get... much... wo... " Jen trailed off eying the area directly above. She could see an object--shiny--descending directly towards. "Oh god..." In a matter of seconds, that object crashed into Jenoth. Clank! Crunch! The falling Heinmir found his landing rather soft... for Jenoth had become his landing pad. Jenoth cringed and looked at Heinmir. "Morning... handsome." Sarcasm etched both words deeply. "I know... I'm attractive, but I have never... had someone fall for me... like this. Please get off." The old--real--Jenoth was back.

Meanwhile, Light noticed a key on the ground where Jenoth was standing. The power of Holy Earth resonated from this one... he found his second key.

Lag and Ignaz were sitting on a table on their minds and said "This will not do..." He said as looked at Ignaz. "I agree. This foe killed Yeria in a flash... So speed is something we lack.

"Not to mention we lack in power too..." Lag replied as he looked at Ignaz. "All of which is because-..."

"We lack power individually. But if-..."

"We merge we will be"

"Invincible" Ignaz finished as he smiled at Lag. It was nice to have some confidence now in the group.

Out in the real world, Ignaz disappeared to reappear near Lag's side. Then they both closed their eyes and the shadow coated Lag. A dark fur version of Lag appeared, with one normal eye, and one yellow eye.

"Let's begin" He said as he began to look for any kind of information he could see.

Well... he is strong, that's sure. He also had the power of Wind and apparently others too. He didn't discard that he could have the same healing ability that he had, if not faster. And that also he needed to see what could that freaking monster do. A one hit KO must be achieved to kill him, but he would not attack until he was at least somewhat certain what he could do.

Heinmir stared dumbfounded at his hands, light shone through every gap in his armor and grew brighter with each passing moment. The light moved like tendrils and latched onto the sea and he could feel in his heart that life was being returned to it, they had successfully defeated the captain and ended the war that had raged here, he felt pride swell within him for knowing what they had accomplished. Slowly the light started to dim from Heinmir's skin until it died away completely but before he could react, he found himself surrounded by black clouds and the feeling of free falling yet again. He screamed loudly in surprise and landed hard on something soft.

"Morning... handsome. I know... I'm attractive, but I have never... had someone fall for me... like this. Please get off." Raising his head from the soft and scaly belly he found that he had landed on the dragon known as Jenoth and he immediately started to crawl off from her.
"I thank you for dampening my fall great dragon Jenoth but know that this place tend to drop me from high places without telling me beforehand, it was not my intention to fall on top of you" He said and pushed himself onto his feet and shook the dizziness away from his head before offering his hand to help Jenoth get back on her feet.
"I'm sure you'll find someway to forgive me for that" He said and made his helmet dissolve into small sparkling dust particles, he smiled softly at her, almost sheepishly and she could tell that he was genuinely sorry for landing on her.

Light stared dumbfounded for a moment, his heart still racing from the combat as he panted, still checking Jenoth from a distance to see whether she was herself. As the darkness cleared from her and her light shone brightly once more, he lowered his mental attack from around him and relaxed for a moment, mentally unprepared for the sudden peace that had fallen over them.

Suddenly, they saw something from above, and he immediately prepared himself once more to use his new earthen power. To his surprise, he was thrown back into his relaxed state when he saw that it was Heinmer, another of the key wielders. As Heinmer got off of Jenoth apologizing, Light could see that Jenoth had truly returned to her true self. She spoke kindly, and he could see that there was no longer the ill intent of the spirit that had possessed her. He gave a small laugh "Jenoth!" he called, running up and hugging her at the waist because of their height difference "You're really okay now! I knew it! I knew you were still in there! I knew we could save you!" he cried out joyously, overwhelmed by the realization that not only had they won, they had prevented one of the few precious souls that remained among them from falling to the darkness forever. A surge of positive emotion washed over him as he hugged her tighter "I knew you weren't a bad guy... I just knew..."

Kutask stares at Jenoth, stunned, and lets out a string of chirps of happiness as he rushes over with Light. {You're okay you're okay you're okay!} he repeats over and over, the mental shout almost overwhelming to all who can hear it - which is to say, everyone present.

Naum managed to make her way down, and she saw the two others near her.
Well, isn't this just splendid. We have another. . . huge monster to kill.

Yeria was a bit shocked over being totally obliterated but now she only was a shadowy spectre of what she was before and she looked around surveying the crater that had been created by the attack.
She began to search out for anyone nearby and found Gwen. She began to glide and kind of merged with her shadow and said to her.

"Do you have any plans since mine didn't work as well as I thought and it got me obliterated."

She awaited Gwens answer while being prepared for what that large creature could do. or at least she thought she was.

"Well... We need to attack with an KO attack. We can't have ourselves do multiple hits on that beast, unless if it's attack and run and even that might not word." Lag said as he watched the Reaper in front of him.

"Now... For a plan, we need to see what kind of attacks he has. Every enemy has a unique of attack and the Keys are our only way to know that." Lag said as he lit his hands, and formed what seemed to be a shield. Wind was surrounding them feet, but he knew that the Beast could outrun him.

"Yeria, what can you do?"

(I restate: Groups are gone, even if your chars remain separated.)

Lag, Ignaz, Gwen, Naum, and Yeria grouped atop one pillar of rock. Naum and Gwen stood on it, while Yeria hid inside Gwen's shadow, and Lag and his opposite floated above the ground. They started to consider a plan; obviously, direct attack would result horrifically. Lag started in the right direction. The keys they all had earned mattered in every way. To the negative side, they missed three vital persons: Heinmir, Kutask, and Light, so even planned strikes lost effectiveness. For the time being, avoidance of conflict seemed to be the best option. Due to the beast's size, his sight experienced trouble in spotting small targets; nevertheless, the thing continued a simple search around the area.

A little time passed. Gwen realized a couple important facts. One, she still had yet to receive her second key, and, two, zero emotion shrouded the large enemy. Did she not pass the trial, so when would she get her just reward? No creature could be emotionless, so how did the monster? This world barely followed its own foundational laws. Could they truly know anything? A small revelation came to her mind. Knowledge and Emotion were not different. She saw the difference as two sides of a coin--the same coin. That discovered, she can know and feel. The same. Looking back to the opponent, a harsh conclusion formed. Anything that could be discovered, learned, felt, and understood would be demolished if she and the others did not bring down the monster. While Knowledge and Emotion did not give life meaning, they permitted the meaning of life to be understood, enjoyed, and experienced. Without these, nothing had relevance. Absolutely nothing! Gwen could simply stand by and let purpose go to waste. Would she? Would anyone?

Yeria and Naum felt frustration over this matter, though. Every step of the enemy created destruction. Yeria cared little for the terrain itself; the principle mattered more. This thing caused destruction without reason. Wrong! Evil. Her heart and mind screamed for justice. Naum, on the other hand, took the land itself into more consideration. Those movements shredded the order of nature, so complications formed. Simpleness disappeared. Life already owned too many issues, did it not? So where do this thing get the right to shake the world? If someone wished to change others for the positive, then understanding could be given, yet this putrid beast destroyed for what? War, War! Naum saw the truth. War for the sake of war was not war. It is sin!

Ignaz followed a different path. He simply knew that ending the enemy would result in positive occurrence. A whisper guided him; although, he heard no words. He could choose to ignore the Direction, though. Anyone can... but should he? The monstrosity obviously threatened the key-wielders, and the key-wielders posed as the last hope for everything. A child knew evil. Why not Ignaz? And then, Lag continued a more astute, stoic observation. He saw only death. His emotions did not throttle up as the Pikachu spirit and Kitsune's did; however, the conclusion ended the same. He saw the end of all to the molecular level. Did that matter, though? Did all his friends and family who suffered that fate matter? Would he stand by and allow death conquer more lives?

Their opportunity to think finished. The enemy finally noticed the five and shot out another way Dark wave pushed by both Dark and Light Wind. Unfortunately, the elements pushed the strike beyond speed that Naum, Ignaz, or Yeria could react to. Nevertheless, Gwen and Lag could stop the wind portion and allow the others to counter the dark.

Taking into account their previous battles, they could use many tactics. Any attack can be blocked by sheer protection and counter-attack; however, that required superior strength in order to succeed. The enemy owned much of that. The elements could negate each other, however--Light vs Darkness, Fire vs Water, and the Light Elements (Light Fire, Light Water, etc.) vs. Dark Elements (Dark Fire, etc.). Equal amounts of element could negate the opposite element. Even so, this monster likely owned much elemental reserves. In addition, each element owned some specific advantages. Water and Fire could be manipulated highly and owned astounding versatility; Wind moved insanely fast; Earth held preposterous strength; Weapon pierced through defenses, and Armor blocked strong onslaughts, while both gained tremendous boosts to ability when combined with other elements; finally, Light and Dark could survive practically anything--persistence. They had experienced much in the recent time, and, now, their lives and the next world depended upon the proper usage of their elements. Any simple, single strikes did not seem workable.

(PAY ATTENTION! I italicized and bolded part of this last paragraph. These are instructions on how to fight this enemy. I will no longer suggest how the usage of your elements may work; I will only point out what will not. The ending depends on how well you guys work together to finish this enemy. Though no, no one will permanently die, but those who have not lost their bodies yet still can. That is important.

Use those italics to fight. Work together. Good luck.

PS: Earth and Wind do not cancel each other out.)

~~~~~
Shortly after Heinmir climbed off her, Jenoth slowly put to her feet. As soon as she got up, Light piled into her and threw her off balance. For such a little one, he owned great strength; nonetheless, she kept herself up with her tail. "Nice to see you too." She returned the hug--at least as best as she could to someone so much smaller. "Yes, I am fi-" She suddenly tossed Light to the side and coughed roughly, spitting out blood. Her hand touched her head and groan sounded from her mouth. "Ooowww... my head." Light's strike may have caused more damage than originally thought. "This must be why you are here," The Dragoness pointed to Heinmir and continued, "but did you have to land on me?" Without warning, she stepped close to the Durask and quickly pulled him down to her level. Lips. Heinmir could not object to the rather passionate kiss, and light (not the person) pushed forcefully from his mouth into hers. While blood remained on her lips, the deep red liquid actually tasted sweet. After several extended seconds, the touch ended and Jenoth pulled away. Joy expelled from her face. "Wow! I've not done that in a long time." Silence. "Wait... I have never done that before." She turned to Kutask. "I think I know how you felt with your hivemind... I know about that?" A lot of thoughts clearly circled her brain. "Oh, sorry about throwing you away like that Light. And, uh..." Her words flip-flopped between different conversations and, in the next sentence, grew incredibly meek, weak, and sincere. "Thank you for saving me. I... almost lost myself."
Gwen swore loudly and swept the group up vertically to get them out of the way of the attack using her wind. "We have to work together!" she yelled to the group, hoping to figure out a solution before it was too late. "That thing... i can't really explain it but it isn't alive yet it exists. it's like a machine, function but no reasoning."
Lag replied. "Well... if it were a machine, we might just need to see what fuels it. Be it souls, dark energy... anything to see if we can stop it."
Now he was worried. If that was true, that guy would show no mercy... no hesitation either.
