"I don't think he could be overthrown that easily, or the fourteen of them would have done it so." Lag in a manner of thinking. "There must be some kind of way of combining all of the keys into one, or a spell that requires all of us..."

Lag thought as he looked at his wisp. He just sighed and said "And all I wanted to do was to party..." He said as his ears lowered themselves

Kesh waited for everyone to get their words in. He breathed deeply and looked over to Heinmir. "Your memories... I don't know why they would be gone. I personally remember my own past." The spirit drifted to the worried man. "The violent flashback you had... may have traumatized your mind. As of right now, there is no way to manually retrieve them, but I'm sure they will return to you in time." Kesh switched directions and faced Heinmir's predecessor. "Sre, did you have anything to do with this?"

"I played no part. I would not even think of ruining a person's foothold to the present." Sre sneered back, "Do you honestly think I would do that?"

Kesh chuckled. "Of course not. So, Heinmir," He returned to the nervous one, "your memories should come back eventually. Though, I cannot be sure when."

The wisp moved over to Gwen. His tone grew suddenly gruff, "I have news for you. Energy ceased to exist along with the universe. The law that stated that energy cannot be destroyed became null and void when you arrived." He calmed down a bit. "Resh is gone for good. I understand that, but I will join him before long, regardless."

Then he turned and flew to the sliver. "Yes, you can speak. Any noise you make will express whatever you are trying say... and you have artificial speak as well. Of course, only those who know the language can understand you either way." He stopped and sighed. "No, Jenoth is dead and gone. The Master... I don't understand, he just..." He seemed more emotional about this situation than the "death" of Resh. "Apparently he determined that he was God and decided that he would take the decision of life and death into his own hands. "She cannot receive the key now; neither will she ever."

He took to Naum shortly thereafter. "We don't know. We don't know how to kill him; in fact, until you guys came along, we never saw him receive any harm." Kesh looked into her eyes. "You don't find him... he finds you. It's hard to describe since we don't even understand him, but, according to tradition, he is immortal. I cannot tell you anymore."

With a short pause, he moved back to the center. "The rest of you didn't ask questions." Technically, either did Gwen, but the death of his brother was reason enough to address her. "All right. Before we send you off, we need to tell you why the universe fell apart. There are good reasons..."

Tros spoke up. "Justice, the repercussions to the wicked, was given up."

Kesh added, "None had the Determination to punish the evil and reward the good."

"So, evil touched Knowledge," Nur put his part in.

"Thus," Glith placed his piece, "Truth was forgotten and discarded."

Words then suddenly blurted from Gwen's mouth, "Emotion was allowed to use people, instead of people using Emotion." Resh was still a part of her it seemed; though, the words didn't seem to make much sense.

Sre stated, "Faith accused to be a liar..."

"Confidence disappeared." Tra told them directly.

"Without any of these, Peace became a mystery and a legend." Nore finished.

"Eight of fourteen steps to War," Kesh explained. "Six keys, six emotions remain. If you should have any hope for the future, you will need these six, but don't forget any of the fourteen. Now," He looked over to Yeria and then to Kutask. "You two will be paired up, Kutask you will aid her in getting her second key, as she did with you." Then to Naum and Heinmir. "You two will be together... I don't know which of you will get the next keys. Over to Lag and... Light. Kesh finally noticed that the young Atlantean was asleep. "Has he been snoozing this entire time?"

"Yes." Nore answered. "Let him sleep. He needs the rest."

"All right, in that case, though, Lag will receive his second key before Light." Kesh affirmed and head to Gwen. "You'll choose who to go with... since you are on the same level as the rest of us now. Please, don't misuse your powers." He paused. "I'll give you all a few minutes before sending you to fetch the keys. Gwen, you should choose who you will be with now." Kesh returned to Kutask's side.

Heinmir nodded and summoned a helmet to cover his face, a helmet similar to his first, jet black and covered with many sharp edges and deep cavities, giving it a dark and evil appearance. Relief sprang up within him and he closed his eyes to gather himself, glad that the helmet at least made the thin stream of tears impossible to see by the others.

He walked over to where Naum was and stood beside her, gathered up the little courage he had and spoke his mind
"I'll do my part as both a weapon and a shield, no more of us shall have to die in battle, not if I can stop it" he said, steeling himself with iron hard resolve, the others could feel that Heinmir had discarded any doubt and returned to his usual self.

"Alright." Naum said simply, finally summoning something that she had been holding in reserve. A revolver appeared by her side, in a holster on a belt. She didn't seem to think of it as any big deal.
At least me and Heinmir get some extra help. she thought gladly, her tail wagging just a little.
I just hope it doesn't all go down the drain.

"Evil had touched knowledge..." Lag said as those words rang familiar in his mind. A tall tree and a hut was visualized.

A younger version of Lag was standing there as he read a book. An old Kitsune was staring at the sun through a window while eating grapes.

"Lag... " The old man said. Lag stopped reading and answered. "Yes master?"

"You may have not noticed but us Kitsunes have been corrupted. The Wind has a different voice to us... Maybe our era is finally ending..." The old man said as he looked at Lag. "But... whenever He decides to leaves us or not, we must endure... For we are the Priests of the Winds...."

Lag smiled and said. "Ok... Let's cleanse some evil then!" He was back to his cheery side.

Kutask takes the words of the beings fairly poorly. "She died saving me. I...I have seen it before, for humans back on my world. They would put their...friends...before themselves. But she barely knew me...why? And for that matter, why does it hurt when I barely knew her...?"

"I try to help all my allies, since doing otherwise would be quite bad now don't you think... And why are you so confused it's emotions... You do know what emotions are right?"

Yeria said and looked at the sliver. Yeria was still very much freaked out by the remains of the feeling of the sword trough her head. She didn't like it one bit.

Light dreamt calmly as he slept on the ground in his exhaustion.

"Light! Come down here a moment." the blue-gray-haired elemental incarnation called down from below light's platform; a bedroom atop a sharp cliff bathed in light that only the child's powers could provide ready access to.

Light stood atop the pillar and looked down, turning instead back to his bed instead of going to his mother. They had had a fight earlier, about what he couldn't remember, and he was sulking now.

A wall of ice creeped up the side of the pillar until it reached the top, the woman walking through the ice and appearing again up top. "Light..." Light turned over in his bed stubbornly, not wanting to face his mother just right then. He was surprised when he found her arms around him. Not a grasp of anger, but a comforting embrace. He suddenly felt like what they had been arguing was trivial.

Light smiled slightly in his sleep.

"Best get acquainted with emotion," Kesh told Kutask. "The sooner, the better."

"Oh yeah, Kutask," Tra piped up. "You already knew Jenoth. You and the rest... she was already your family. Your friend." He kneeled to Kutask's level. "After the death of the world, time ceased. In other words, Jenoth already received the key and currently owns it. The problem is... she didn't and is now dead. The Master is using the timelessness to his advantage. Sorry if that sounds confusing, but that's the best I can tell you."

"That's enough time." Kesh called out. "You will all be sent to your respective locations. We will meet once more at a later time." Immediately, the surroundings for all changed. Although, different for each of the groups. The cave melted away...

~~~~~
(Group 1)
Kutask and Yeria fell onto a strip of ground. An earthy, dead plain consumed their views. As far as the eye could see, dirt, dirt--rock!--and more dirt. Quite boring indeed. Kutask's earthen senses spiked immediately. The plane went on for miles. A side from the occasional rock, the surroundings contained emptiness.
"Welcome to death, Death!" A loud ringing person spoke. A large beast stepped forward. "You brought a friend. That's nice of you." The being waved its... four arms. The clunky monster stood nearly seven feet tall (2.2 meters). The skin covered roughly--strangely tan and obviously thick. Its arms and legs were thick, and a flat, almost-beaver-like tail hung from its behind. The feet round and toe-less, and the hands owned only three finger each. "Are you ready?"
~~~~~

(Group 2)

Lag and Light drifted into another place. Before Lag realized, he stood in a tall narrow room. He seemed to be inside a pillar of some sort... the ceiling reached beyond Lag's vision. As he began get a hold of himself, he noticed a tall figure standing next to him.

"Oh, hi again, Lag." That voice. Jenoth... she stood autistically. Compulsory, Jenoth cradled the sleeping Light in her arms. "What happened?" She looked down at Light. "Awww... isn't that cute?" This did not sound like Jenoth... that's for sure. "Where are we?" The random question popped up.

~~~~~
The dreaming Light suddenly felt the arms around him go cold. The figure that was his mother had turn incredibly dark. Everything turned dark. His mother pulled away from him and her shaped changed severely. Light now looked at... himself. No, a darker version. "Boo!" The frightening voice pierced his ears. His slumber quickly came to an end.
~~~~~

(Group 3)

Heinmir, Gwen, and Naum had a total different turn out. The cave did not melt away at all. Only all of the spirits and the other key-wielders disappeared. Gwen quickly noted a sheer transformation to the emotion in the room. Love flooded her senses--in fact, her body ached from overload. Definitely a strange emotion to come at a time as such.

Concentrated light grew out of the ceiling and floated to the ground. The light slowly filled into a shape. The morph took some time; however, familiar creatures eventually formed. A white tiger and its rider faced off the three. Gold stripes covered the tiger and frightening fangs hung from its mouth. Other than these details, the beast seemed normally. The rider resembled Gwen and Naum--in more than one way. The being was obviously female; in addition, she had the animal-like features that they did. She wore an engineer's cap with two slits for her pointy ears. A loose colorless shirt covered her upper section, and white padded pants stretched over her hips to her feet. She wore nothing over her feet. Shoulder-length red hair flowed off her scalp and two-inch long fur drooped off her skin. A pronged claw was wrapped around her left hand. Each finger wielded a prong of its own. Her other hand held a sleek, golden lance.

The anthropormorph hopped off her beast and walked towards the other three. Her steps swayed with immense grace. She stopped a few feet in front of them and eyed each. She had yet to say a word.

"Ah!" Light sat up, awake, shivering at what he had seen. He then looked up at Jenoth and gave a confused expression "Huh? What?"

Yeria looked at the imposing figure and eeped a little.

"W...Who are you?"

She asked with a slight quivering voice and she gulped. She wondered why all the foes always had to be so darn big.

Heinmir noted that the others faded away, probably to collect their keys. He looked around, waiting for the scenery to change but when it didn't came he started to grow a little worried. Had something happened to the three of them? weren't they supposed to go somewhere also?

Then a beam of light appeared in the middle of the room, interrupting Heinmir's trail of thoughts. from the light came a strange creature, it looked just like Naum did, but she resembled Gwen as well when she still had had her body. The long red hair and the clothing both resembled that of Naum.
The fox woman rode on a large tiger covered in golden stripes and she carried a golden lance, his choice of weaponry, why it resembled all three of them he had no idea but this was bound to be another test.

The taste of dirt filled his mouth and caused him to cough and spit wildly. A tall man towered over him with two sabers in each hand, tips pointing towards Heinmir's neck.
"You lose again young Heinmir, you leap in like a hungry Jeserk jumps at sheep." The man sighed loudly and backed away, Heinmir jumped back to his feet and rubbed his tongue against his sleeve to get rid of the foul taste of dirt. The old Durask stood there and waited patiently for him to pick up his sword, the thin shivering arms, touch dry skin and ash-gray hair made him look weak but Heinmir had learned the hard way that so was not the case about his uncle Karatosh. He picked up the heavy blade and fell into the basic stance he had been taught and panted lightly, Karatosh didn't even raise his guard when Heinmir charged in.

Heinmir lifted his free hand and removed his helmet, tucking it under his arm he stood there and regarded the newly arrived stranger with narrowed red glowing eyes that contained no anger or joy only caution.
"Greetings stranger, I am marshal Heinmir Shadowlance, might I be so bold to ask you your name and rank?" said Heinmir with authority in his voice, he suspected that this stranger was here to test them but he didn't know how they were going to be tested yet.

"Who are you?" Lag said as he stood his guard up. He did not speak in a gentle tone, but in threating one. The spirits told them that Jenoth was dead, but nevertheless she was here. How? Did the Wind reject her?

The anthro stared at the three. After stabbing the lance into the ground, she motioned with her hands certain hand symbols. Sign language? Neither Gwen, nor Heinmir, nor Naum could make out what she wished to communicate. Strange... since they received their keys, none of them have ever had a problem with understanding another. Even with Gwen's ability to detect emotions, she could decipher nothing.

After a minute of useless signing, the woman shrugged and walked casually to Heinmir. She stopped two feet (2/3 meter) in front of him. Stranegly her eyes did not meet Heinmir's; instead, they scanned across his armor. Hand risen... one finger flicked Heinmir's armor. Instantly, his protection--armor and weapon--burst into a flurry of light. One touch and gone. A dull smile stretched her mouth.

The white tiger took steps forward. Light reached down from the ceiling consuming the tiger for several seconds. Once the brightness dimished, bright-tinted armor covered main part of the tiger. Some of the light trickled down to the woman's hand. Heinmir's lance took shape... these were his creations; however, he no longer had any control over them. More and more, her actions appeared to be threatening.

~~~~~
(Group 1)
"I'm a ghost of the past." The beast answered. "Delfor, I used to be called... a long time ago." Delfor? What a name... "Are you ready to fight your ghost, Yeria? Heh." He knew her name? And, he mentioned her ghost? What? "And, I'll just join in to make the fighting even. Let's see if you can match my strength, Kutask." And... he knows Kutask's name.
"How does it feel to be death, pain, and suffering?" A dark, wistful voice spoke up. A shadow from behind stood up and took form. "You are viewed as the evil, the wrong, when you do your duty." Arms, legs, and a tail. Somewhat taller than Yeria, but considerably slimmer. "Then, when you stop perform your duty... true evil spreads. Where does Justice get credit?" The creature asked bitterly. He had a small reptillian snout, scaly skin, clawed hands and feet, and yellow eyes. The slick tail stretched from his rear--a metal point tipped that tail. Two scimitars hungs from a belt, and royal-looking apparrel clothed the reptile. "Well, let me tell you. It doesn't!" Yeria remembed this voice from the fight with that angel, but, somehow, the voice seemed to resemble someone... Tros. Her predecessor. The lizard sounds exactly like Tros. Somehow he was Yeria's ghost...
"Now, we're even. Two versus two." Delfor pointed to all of them--one with each arm. "Voish. Are you ready?"
"Heheheh. Always." Voish pulled out his two belted weapons. They never did answer Kutask's question...
~~~~~

(Group 2)

"Don't worry little one." Jenoth smiled at Light. "You'll be fine. I'll protect you." While still holding the Atlantian, she turned to Lag. "I don't know. I just live and breath... why are we here? All I remember is... oh, I don't. Right." Total amnesia. If Light and Lag needed anything, that was not a forgetful dragon.

Having woken up, Light felt considerably refreshed. Despite his dream-gone-nightmare, his body had regained all of its energy and strength. Although, he felt strangely... lighter. Then at the same time, he felt as if a piece of him was missing.

Lag experienced a similiar occurence, except he manged to notice that his Shadow self was missing. Now, Shadow Lag could simply ignore Lag, but this was much different. Shadow Lag vanished completely.

Heinmir stood there dumbfounded while the woman tried to communicate through hand signs which neither of the three seemed to understand. She stopped moving her hands after a minute or two, apparently tired of the lack of understanding from the others. Heinmir raised and eyebrow as she started to walk towards him, stopping only 2 feet away and raised her hand. He was about to ask her what she was doing when she suddenly flicked his armor with a finger and he found himself bathed in a bright light all of a sudden and then the burden of the heavy armor was gone.

What did she do!?! Heinmir gasped when he looked down and found that his armor was missing, it instead started to appear on the white tiger she had brought. Her lance also started to morph and change into his own lance, was she stealing his creations?

"My, my this one doesn't even answer a single question before the fight starts. War brought us here but we must still fight to save this place, I find that ironic." Heinmir chuckled lowly for himself, not at all concerned about the situation or the adversary he and the others was facing, instead he was filled with an inner calm as he looked up at her.

"You can steal my creations, that much I know, but the real question is, how fast can you steal them?" Heinmir burst into action, taking a quick pounce forward, closing the small gap between him and the fox woman instantly and swung his left arm to backhand her across the chin but about halfway through the swing a large, black metal round shield appeared in front of his hand.

The instant the shield appeared in Heinmir's hand the tiger got attacked by four flying weapons, a sword, axe,hammer and lance all appeared in front of it and attacked it head on.

She got the thing about justice but the other thing confused her, Her ghost what was the meaning of this and she looked at kutask not exactly sure how to reach to the ghost part and they knowing of both of their names.

"...What are you going to do now?"

Yeria was very worried.

"Ouf... h-how long was I asleep?" he yawned, rubbing his eyes, then looked surprised "Hey... I-I can understand you too... Can I understand everyone now?" he asked as he became fully awake "I feel a little... weird..."

"Hmmm..." He thought as he looked at his shadow. It was missing.

"We are here... to cleanse evil!" Lag said as he put a proud stance and pointed to the sky with no apparent reason.

"Well I guess"

Yeria said and wondered how to best implement that idea and what he was planning. Murder holes. that sounded completely vicious. (1)

The fox woman smirked. A massive flash of light blasted into Heinmir's eyes. His vision went out completely. His shield bash reached forward and missed, throwing him off balance. Before he could reel back from his forceful leap, he felt something impact the bottom of his feet. He dropped to the ground instantly; moreover, he had a massive migraine. That light must have seared his brain tremendously. The pain slowly subsided, but, for the next minutes or so, he would be completely disabled.

In the Gwen and Naum's perspective, the woman stepped back casually and sent a light into Heinmir's eyes. The shield missed utterly and, while Hienmir stumbled forward, she dropped the ground and spun around. Her foot clipped Heinmir easily and he one the floor in no time. She immediately jumped to her feet and back. Her jump backwards led her to her original spear, so she grabbed that one. Dual wielding spears? Odd.

The tiger attempted to dodge the spears with a foward jump, but two of them hit directly. Unfortunately, neither pierced the armor, they merely were stuck halfway in. Even then, the spear remained in the armor for a few seconds, for they burst into light.

If there was an obvious hostile action, this was it.

"Don't we all?" Jen shrugged and put Light gently down. "I dunno, I just got here... and you were just suddenly in my arm." She looked over to Lag. "I know you, right?" She walked over to him. "You're, uh, uh... crap. I don't remember! I hate my life sometimes-wait... that's not me. What am I saying? This place is..." Jenoth suddenly grasped her head. "So. Many. People." Great, a dragon that died, lost all her memories, and is insane. "Oh yeah!" She piped up. "You said we're here to cleanse evil. One problem... where is it?"

The walls were quite close. Maybe fifteen feet (five meters) from one end to the other; though, the pillar went up for what seemed like miles. The only way to go was up... maybe that's where they were supposed to go.

Delfor stepped backwards with loud rumbles. The ground became incredibly dry and brittle with each step.

Voish kept relatively still. His fingers twitched with excitement, and he ran the blade of one sword across his tongue. Some blood thirsty fellow, that's for sure. "Are you ready to face Justice!?" That could be taken more than one way... "Are you ready to face your own death!"

With a loud thunk, Delfor dropping into the ground, for the ground below him had crumbled. At the same time, Voish launched a double wave of darkness at Yeria and Kutask. Yeria sensed that attack to be similiar to her own... that will eat away anything that it touches. Kutask, on the other, sense Delfor... swimming (?) in the ground. His body apparently could flow through the weaker, dusty earth.

the wind suddenly hit the tiger woman full force as Gwen summoned spheres of green and black energy that flew towards the tiger woman, exploding on impact.
