the article said as much, and cute....
I like it because it makes the case for animal empathy, but it struggles somewhat on selling say the psychic relationship of a familiar, but one step at a time.What this means in practical terms means animals respond to human emotions, but do so totally indiscriminately, and this heads no evidence to the emotional connection between one animal and one person.

I agree with cd I kinda know this already. However it is cool that the proved it in a study.
